Surely UCC in next fixtures. Other UCC sides playing last few weeks. Money the manager is getting must be some perk to the role. They pay for your football courses too, good gig.
UCC Play Coachford Sunday in League only fixture down as other teams in MJC action. They play Springfield following Sunday again. After all the panic they will have the same amount of games played as Grattan/Hill if my calculations are correct.

Everyone will have the same amount of league games played. It's when teams play them is the problem.

One of the lads involved with Cathedral told me about their shenanigans with AUL. They had illegal player play and score against them, ref confirmed the illegal player was not the named player on app, in fairness the other team put hand up and admitted it, Cathedral objected, followed the process but Conlon and his cronies then threw out the complaint as they said Cathedral didn’t send the other club the complaint aswell. They said nothing to Cathedral in the meeting about that which if they did Cathedral had the registered post receipts and now AUL want 350 quid off them to look at the receipts which shows the AUL f’d up and incorrectly threw out the complaint. AUL doing AUL things. Cathedral saying they’ll prob just leave it as can’t be dealing with them. Sad carry on

Someone telling lies to you Bowser and I’ll tell you why last year knocka Celtic didn’t receive 3 points in their objection against Catherdal cause they never sent letter to Catherdal stating they were appealing the game where Catherdal played two illegal players so Catherdal were well aware they had to send letter to club they were appealing against

Yeah I think what he's saying is Cathedral sent the letter to the other team but the AUL are saying they didn't. He also said Cathedral have registered post receipts as proof but to submit those they need to appeal to the MFA which costs them €350.
Castleview B admitted they played illegal players and that should be enough for Cathedral to be awarded the points but that cretin M.C has to always go out of his way to stick his nose it in. So what will happen now is the AUL will retrospectively go after Castleview and dock them the points as if it was the AUL that spotted the illegal player. M.C will be happy slapping himself on the back then.

That’s not fair so but I was talking to knocka committee member sat the issue they had first game of season they signed player had everything done by the book turned out temple had player signed wrong all last season so knocka were cleared of any wrong doing last week 5 weeks later cause the man in question your talking about was away so no meeting went ahead the player didn’t play for 5 weeks cause Aul still wanted knocka into meeting last week that’s a joke on the lad to stand around and watch team play for that long

Yeah, thats it, they 100% sent the letter, AUL said nothing about it in meeting, threw out the case saying Cathedral didnt send the letter and now want them to formally appeal to be able to show them the evidence they sent the registered letter to other team. id say if they leave it the other team will hear no more about it.

Yeah he`s what i would call a very awkward man. The odd time i`ve met him at a game or after a big game where they would go to a bar on match of the week etc he has also been awkward to even have a conversation with. If he spoke about the game and you said black he would say white. i noticed this years back so any time i converse with him i keep an eye for it and true enough it never changes no matter how obvious your opinion is he will find a way to go the opposite or play devils advocate.
I don`t actually dislike the man or anything but my god he is tough work and i don`t feel he helps this organisation or it`s progress in any way shape or form.
The AUL need a serious shake before it is too late, i`ve been around it for decades and everyone i speak to feels the same.
The consensus is that the AUL is falling apart & the CBSL is thriving.
With their attitude i`m sure you will see many more teams leave in the coming pre season

If clubs formed a clubs only committee and put structure around it- quarterly meeting and AGM's etc to discuss these issues and there was a chairperson, secretary etc then someone could take all issues away and raise them with the MFA. If clubs are concerned about the future of AUL football in Cork, particularly those who have been incredibly loyal to the AUL over the years the only way to influence change is by doing it formally, in the right way not raising the issues at AUL AGM's to the people who will just dismiss the issues or pay lip service, the league is going backwards fast and needs fresh, new ideas and energy before we are down to even smaller numbers. They dont even care enough to try and get an Oscar Traynor team going again at a time where there are unbelievable players across the leagues. Then again maybe there are clubs happy out with the way it is

Any word on tomorrow’s games yet? Going by last week’s precedent you’d be expecting them to be off but with some of the games being in Munster competitions it might not be in the AUL’s hands to postpone.

100% agree.
The AGM sees the odd comment or person giving out dismissed or told we will look into it for no more to be done ever.
No Oscar Traynor team is a disgrace and has been that way far too long.
I will tell you now how teams are putting up with it and how they are getting away with it.
Tiny leagues with divisional cups and local cups or lesser teams who lose early having a cup to go to meaning across a league of 8 you could have 1 or 2 fold, 1 winning a league, 1 promoted, 2 or 4 in cup finals, nobody getting relegated unless they want to & everyone heading off into the sunset claiming they are fabulous and patting themselves on the back cos they won A or B etc
Let`s face it the trophies aren`t anywhere near worth what they were worth 15 or 20 years ago
Meanwhile the numbers dwindle as the 1 or 2 from 8 that fold don`t get replaced and the AUL promote yet another team that finished 4th or 5th.

I would of definitely thought that youngfella healy should of been starting unless injuries etc might have played a role in it I don't know but why wasn't the fella driscoll on the bench from what I can remember wasn't he golden boot winner few seasons back with knocknaheeney celtic aswell I know age plays apart aswell but when players have a knack of scoring they should never be dropped, I wouldnt be happy anyway if my manager started before me this could unrest players aswell why should fellas go training if can't get a chance before the manager, the only thing what I can see from the outside is they are winning games so players probaly happy to pick up a trophy, you need to be playing to justify winning a league or a trophy not a sub and brought on for a few minutes here and there
Is all games called off tomorrow aswell lads?

6.2 didn't reflect the game itself.
2.2 it was even enough.
Villa are a serious outfit.
Ya man Browne up to 2 weeks ago was LOI with Cobh.
Really good side.
Fair dues to Grattan for playing all the rounds with a great attitude.

Knocka only to blame here if they knew player was signed they should of got a transfer instead of creating a new profile on fai connect regardless of a mix up in spellings silly to chance it given the unpredictable nature of the AUL committee

Villa are a great team but they're a senior team, it's a bit unfair on those junior teams playing against them. They have 8 or 9 in that squad that played in the League of Ireland. Well done to Grattan for getting to the final and giving them a good game, the score didn't reflect the game atal.

Yes it was a good game infairness but class showed in the end, I think half time came at the wrong time for us and a good time for them because we had them on the ropes at that stage, but in the second half they just stepped it up a level but infairness we gifted them 3 goals just a lapse in concentration and sharpness from our point of view but the best team won on the day as I said they showed there class, previous poster said they had few ex league of ireland players playing you could tell infairness that they played at a very good level, we dust ourselves down and go again Friday night.

The Knocka player registration situation is very suspect & i`m surprised they got away with it. Seems on all fronts it is worth taking a punt on players who`s registrations may be unresolved or complicated (even unregistered in some cases) with this league.
I don`t agree with guys on the Knocka manager playing, he is still well able for that level & he may be needed some weekend when there are players missing so why shouldn`t he sharpen up in a dead rubber to get match fit.
Cityboy66
07/10/2024, 9:58 AM
Nothing against the team in question but what I am understanding is that there is more than one profile in FAI connect for this player? If that is the case and Knocka won appeal does it not mean if teams create a new profile to get a fella registered faster to play rather than the transfer process mean they'll all win their appeal based on what I am reading.

07/10/2024, 10:04 AM
In regards the Knocka situation i would have a certain sympathy for Knocka if his profile is as per his passport.
But there is a lot at play here and The club need to due their own due diligence process when registering a new player.
they presumably knew he played with temple so required a transfer.
when they inputted the player on the system as per his passport and he didn’t come as a player with temple not to mind on the system alarm bells should have went off as you could be walking into a messy situation unnecessarily.
You then speak with the player to see can he help but in this case all you had todo is check the app and see what name he had on the 1st game of the season with temple and transfer the player from there a transfer at most take 7 days to go through.
now the player in question has two profiles on the system.
And has created all this mess.

If a player plays for one team then plays for another team without a transfer then someone is at fault. spelling or no spelling. The player himself should well know he needs to transfer from A to B so knowingly played without a transfer, if he told the club he had played for another team already then they should well know he needs a transfer. Everything after that is just loophole etc and fair play if they got away with it. I have absolutely nothing against Knocka by the way.
A player played for 2 clubs in a few weeks with no transfer no more needs saying really.

My original point was missed, why take a risk with the unpredictable nature of the Aul committee. Player was signed and played a with one club this season where his name was miss spelled, his picture and passport lived with the miss spelled name on his fai connect profile. My point was knocka should have gotten a transfer and he wouldn’t have missed the 5 games and they could then raise a ticket with the fai to correct the miss spelled name.
