Lads, give it a rest, Jamie could have gotten AUL player of the year and it wouldn’t have been undeserved, the man was a goal machine, one of the best forwards I’ve ever seen play in our league, Craig and Aaron I think would both get a game for coachford from what I seen, brilliant players both, murph solid in between the stick, they gave a good year, their team came back, if there’s bitterness that’s disappointing to hear but if I had anything to do with village I’d be annoyed with what’s being posted here, seem to be burning bridges when there’s always a chance Doolans fold again, not going to get into it about trophies and names being taken off
Either way there was more than those 4 contributing to village this year who will still be there next, year I don’t think they’ll be anywhere near challenging, if they bring back the other gorta he’ll be a good start to rebuilding, said a few weeks back that they’re too old so signing young players is a good strategy to take for them

Not sure if Jamie trained or not but you seem to know. Was it down to work or couldnt be bothered? Did the other doolans cow lads train? Short season for the business league Jamie will probably only get 30 goals lol. Poor league tho you are right, I dont see the catch playing in that league but each to their own. Can you give us any info on the young players gone in there? Youth is good to go woth the experience they already have. Centre half from Mary's sounds like a good signing if true. Village will be fine like i said in a previous post they always will be fine i dont think they will come second again tho but time will tell.
Jamie can’t train because of work, I’d excuse that, once the reason is genuine and the business is done on the pitch. I’m talking of the other players. Most of the signings they’ve made are from the shipping league and they’re good players. Zack had a great season, great player but he came from the same league that buster has a massive problem with, he’ll kick on and as you say village will be fine. Shipping league is weaker than it was when the cow were last there in my opinion

Well said, all left on good terms and Village will be their first choice if Doolans aren’t there I’m sure if it

Ah we are all on this forum to debate. Village seem to be the topic today
Who did get AUL player of the year? Jamie, Aaron and Craig would get a game with Coachford i think aswell, shipping league players tho. You are right there that there's every chance Doolans Cow could be gone again in the next season or two. Not sure what you mean by names taken off trophies but I assume Jamie was getting Player of the year but management changed their mind.
Youth is a good strategy for the club they will learn alot for the older players. I seen their signing on Facebook good player left back. Signed again from the shipping league tho couldn't be any good players in that league by reading this forum.

AUL player of the year? I'll take you mean Village player of the year. Management reversed the decision when they heard the lads were heading back? Crazy stuff if true. Tricky situation not sure what to do in that scenario.

Nothing wrong with them. I played with them many years ago, great club. Watched them a lot this year also they were 2 or 3 short being a very good team. Len is doing a fine job with them credit to him.

Away from all the drama on here about the club I see that village are doing a charity fundraiser which is something positive for a change and fair play but I know I wouldn’t be able for that cycle I would barely be able to run on a pitch for five minutes haha as for next season looking forward to hopefully a more competitive premier division and as was said previously I reckon knocka could be the closest to coachford next season and a bit of pub talk for ye which id take with a pinch of salt but heard that adam lee from grattan might be making the switch to knocka as he’s not happy with the playstyle in grattan as he feels it doesn’t play to his strengths
Ah reff hes off

Magic great for the club hopefully few get on board and do it , I also heard he was trying to go back senior next year and also village.Has a lot of fitness to catch up on first
Ballwasthere
17/06/2025, 11:47 AM
Lee is a great player, like you said about fitness it’s his issue, constantly picking up injuries, I actually reckon grattan suit his style of play, strong hold up play and an aerial threat

Was suited to Grattan is what I meant, might not be the way he wants to play but his strengths definitely make them more affective, wants the ball to feet which I can’t blame

I see John Corcorcan officially signed for Village, great signing if he can keep the head down. And Fair play to Village for the charity cycle they are doing. I see on Facebook they have signed a few other players aslo, I'm not to familiar with those lads but they getting numbers up. Adam Lee would be a great signing for any club if you can get him fit, very good player can adapt his game to any football style of play.

Jamie is a big loss heading back to the Cow. Johnny C while a great player will not match Jamie's goals. Johnny will also miss a chunk of games from bans. Village will struggle and won't compete next season but hopefully can grow with the young fellas signed.

Negative maybe. Only time will tell. I personally hope Village go up another gear this season but hard to see. We all can see AULBUSTER that you are involved with Village, any bit of criticism towards them and you are straight on here.
What can you see this season for Village? Will they finish higher than second again? Will they make cup finals this year?
Will Johnny C score more goals than Jamie?
Will those young lads adapt to physical better league?
Please respond

I played with John at the end of me mediocre career. Great player and striker. I also played with Jamie i just can't see John getting 40 goals this season for Village I hope im wrong. If John gets the service he will bang them in, Jamie had to create a lot of goals by himself. It's a real pity Jamie isn't there this season with Johnny C.

No one is finishing above coachford for the next 3 years . But keep on knocking village . The most hard working club in the AUL . Even if they get relegated it doesn’t matter . They will be back again next year . Not like other clubs . Most clubs in the AUL would fold if the went down . It’s not about winning with village and it never was .
The best young players In mayfield are now after signing. The future looks brilliant . Knock village all you want . No one will score more goals then Jamie . He’s at another level

Next 3 years is very precise. Im not trying to knock Village, I watch most of their games and live in the Area I hope they do well I really do. I do hope im proved wrong and they build/kick on from this season into the next one. Most hardworking club now that is up for big debate but as a Village man I suppose you're going to think and say that, rightly so. I wouldn't agree with the comment it's not all about winning, you have to driven and want to win in football. If Village went down I dont think John and a few more would stick around, unfortunately thats the way football is now. Players just jump ship. As for the best young players in Mayfield im not too sure on that, I dont know these lads but by judging by the average age of Mayfield United Seniors that's where the best young players are at.

Going to weigh in on this, watched John for over a decade in the AUL, watched a good bit of Jamie last season, different type of players, Jamie is almost like Salah, quick knows where the goal is loves goals, a better passer than people give him credit for, but his main thing and the difference between the two I feel is physicality, he’s strong a bull, lads were trying to tackle him and bouncing off him, which is why he was able to make so many goals for himself, he had a great relationship with that Aaron Hennessy on the other wing.
John is a great player, always was, I’ll get the bad out of the way, I never liked his attitude, if he’s having a tough game he blames the reff, it’s that simple. On the other hand he is one of the best pure strikers I’ve seen play junior football, deadly touch, great passer, clever movement and seems to hit at least the target with every single strike, both fantastic players.
I won’t say they would have won something if John was there last year because I don’t think many senior teams outside the top 4-5 beat that current coachford side let alone an AUL one, but they could have made it interesting.
Buster what do you mean hardest working club? Not having a dig genuinely curious. Also I think winning should be what matters, if you just want to take part play in the shipping league so you can watch Doolans win everything for the sake of having fun with your buddies

Hard working with fund raising and just doing loads for the community. Lenny has something on once a month . Winning is what matters my point being if village get relegated the next 2 years there still will be a village . It’s more than a club . It means too much to people up there . Then lads going back to the cow knowing they’re going to win everything easily . Why not stay with village and try and challenge coachford. If Village beat coachford in any game it would be worth more then any medal In the shipping league

Village have one team good on them for doing a few bits and pieces but that doesn’t make them the hardest working club in the AUL.
Plenty clubs within the AUL have more than 1 team and then there is clubs with underage structures that’s work daily and all year round.
With that in mind Village are no where near the hardest working club in the AUL.
To be fair to them great to get the younger lads involved and if every one team club put in the effort they do the AUL would be a much better place.
As for mattering to people if it mattered that much why is there so many comings and goings?
As for the Corcoran lad a top player but he isn’t the CLUB man they are looking for.
Just look at the list of clubs he has played for he is in it for himself as for his temperament the less said the better!!!

Ya in fairness Lenny is doing the community well and building a well run club can't argue there. I agree with the Doolans Cow bit, easier for them to head back they should of stuck around and tested themselves again against Coachford, they were unlucky at home against them. Can't give Coachford 1 goal never mind 3. As someone stated here aswell I suppose they are Doolans players so always gonna head back.
