Is this all said because the cork aul failed to even try out a Oscar traynor team...my opinion off course there's a good enough team out off castleview grattan coachford..Knocka village and there's surly few more teams like watergrasshill the like Desmond ffs there's..no harm in trying and having some interest cork aul that's y it's gone to the dogs because it's thrown to the dogs the last few years ...there surely interest when the like luke casey comes back and playing in aul is he not good enough for Oscar traynor lads it utter laziness is what it is
Desmond isnt even playing for Watergrasshill at the moment you think he is going to tog out for the Cork AUL team? Players have no interest in playing in it

Senior Premier is well over what AUL was. Senior second is brutal.
Shipping league is a right mix. Premier A standard equally mixed with Division 2 and 3.
AUL should yave put in a team, all leagues should.
Money spent on Pepper and Conlons flights and accomodation this week instead. Is that fine?

Aul should of put in a team, I don’t agree with some fellas saying the quality isn’t there… this huge quality in the aul and if you took 2/3 players from the top sides you’d made a very solid team

I asked them
The last few times the AUL entered teams the interest wasnt there. Paying for Astros and players not turning up. But sure they can use the fabulous new facility up in Castleview for free after its built so maybe next year ;)

I disagree with you Rossum just when we were getting on well you spoiled it there is 2/3 handy players in each team but no where near good enough players to compete in my opinion
Play it out

If you don't think they could compete with MSL and Shipping League then you are wrong.
Of course, many of the other leagues are better.
Spend money on Oscar Traynor or on beer for the boys?

Would they commit to an extra nights training every week to then get hockeyed when they get out of the group?
Also while naming a team please name a management team that would be interested in managing the cork aul team

I guess we will never know... but weather the get hockeyed our not still no harm the aul trying to see is there interest and it might be a good thing in keeping players interested don't any try outs start with 80 plus players from **** to experience surely 18 players in aul good enough to play senior league as I have read on here before ..

If you dont start somewhere, how can you ever improve. You improve by pitting yourself against the best and striving to get better, even if that takes time- not participating is the worst solution and AUL should be embarassed at turning a blind eye. It used to be a badge of honour for fellas to get called up to the trials and ultimately the squad. Its just laziness and lack of motivation, drive and energy by an ageing disinterested AUL committee- any excuses are just that excuses by those happy to be mediocre

Lot of northside players there , go ask them if they would be interested in playing seeing as you know most of them. Also who would manage this imaginary side?

I am just basing my opinion off talking to a few fellas over the last few months. Interest doesnt seem to be there. Wouldnt Casey and Vinny be playing senior if they wanted to play at a higher level?
What is Harsh Refs previous management experience I wonder? Jason Bourne as his assistant ?

I agree plenty of more players there too. To say they couldn't make a decent 11 is just dishonest and disrespectful to the quality that is in the AUL. And if theyonly get a day out then so be it. You'll never progress if you don't compete against the best and there's no point in saying there is no intrest when the AUL won't even entertain the idea of a tream. As was said earlier see if they are interested in an imaginary team... the facts it's imaginary is the reason there is zero intrest. I'd rather see the money going into bettering the AUL then sitting in a bank account doing nothing....might even go missing again.
That's it keep few young lads interested aswell it would..if the had no interest the wouldn't be playing ball atoll so let's hope this castleview thing changes it next year but until..knocka and coachford the weekend few red cards the blue boy sent off the line

At the end of the day it must be some bit disheartening for players in the AUL to know that they can’t tell their mates they got into the cork panel because they’ll never have the chance to. While players of lower ability in the CBl and to an extent the MJL leagues are capable of doing it, don’t see the harm in doing it, of course only if a management team that was willing to do so came forward, it’s greed and laziness on the part of the committee plain and simple, too many here focus on the negatives and blame the players in the league but at the end of the day a vast majority would be willing to represent the league to the best of their ability

I for one think there would be interest in an AUL team and I know a number of managers that would be proud to be involved. All comes down to the committee not having a tack of interest. Too much of an outlay for them to pay for a few tops.

I watched the game .
CBL battled hard but the MSL were awful an just won because the CBL let a ball bounce in the box for the 1st one an a fella falling to his right hand side hits a lob shot . CBL actually got a good equaliser.
The CBL defended well, they were never cut to peices. MSL just constantly lobbed balls into the box an wore them down.
Neither team stroked the ball about because neither team had those types of player, kick an rush football to the core.
I do think we shouldn't enter a side , an AUL 11 would beat either of those handy.
But Waterford , tough game . They have only just won't it ffs.
Anything after that could really hurt !
An Aul team won't get the support.
Management would be as stitched together as the team an I'm not sure ud get the buy in from the best players because A, there not bothered and B the history between the clubs.
Let it go lads.

Could be a decent weekend of games weather permitting this weekend. I'd say knocka v coachford could be a firey game. Village v grattan I reckon will probably be a very competitive game with the form they are both in. I would think castleview and donoughmore should win their games handy enough. Not to mention strand v glenthorne in the prem A could be another decent game.

I was talking to a pair of knocknaheeney celtic lads well ago and they were telling me they are missing a few big so called superstars as they away away in Liverpool etc, I'd imagine it's gonna be a stroll in the park today for coachford 5-1 im going for, I wonder will the manager/player start himself again today to massage his ego??

Village v Grattan, what a game. Both teams flat out from start to finish on a heavy pitch, Grattan took it in the end with 2 well placed penalties. But it could of went either way in the 90 and in extra time. Well worth braving the **** conditions was well worth it. To be fair Harsh i Don't even think there is a comparison between the village that played today and the village of old.

I think the unfortunate mistake from the village keeper before half time allowed Grattan back into it. But they were unbeaten last year in the league for a reason. They're always a solid side and last year I reckon Grattan would have had a much easier day out than they had today. Good football played all in all good game to watch.
Lads coachford are not the best side but that ref is possibly the worst in the league casey was the trouble for knocka today ..knoclq where terrible at times and didn't spit out the dummy shook hands Paul's yellow card is after changing colour ffs he was one sided obviously it wouldn't change the result but we push on

Agree there. I thought the ref was poor overall, he lost control of the game, also he doesn't turn his head for offsides for both teams. Was a good game to watch Village came flying out the traps in the first 15/20 mins went 2 up, that mistake just before HT let Grattan back in it. To Grattan credit they battled hard but the pressure on and got back into it. Their second goal looked off but was given and deserved on overall play. Village had a few chances to win it in ET hit the post and that came back to haunt them, they missed 4 pens in the shootout. To Grattan credit they also grind out big results. It was a very good game to watch in poor conditions and a very soft pitch.

Grattan doing Grattan things, they get a sniff they’ll keep beating the door down, it was a great advert for the AUL, great to see despite all the needle and arguing during the game, everybody shook hands at the end and left it on the pitch, FairPlay to both sides

It was a good game to be honest.
100% start to finish despite the childish carrying on on an off the pitch.
Big difference for me was confidence.
Grattan never paniced.
Even in the 1st half you could sense Grattan would score.
No one could have predicted it would be from such a comical goalkeeping error for all the actual chances they had.
2nd half Grattan should of equalised and gone ahead well before the equaliser actually came so late, goal mouth scramble is the best description.
Village played on the break and hit the post from a free and a slip from a defender which wasn't taken advantage of, bit greedy to be honest.
But Village did give it all they had.
A 100 people hyping a team up on the side line is great but it dosent help calm them when they need to be calm.
Grattan got back into the game because there the best at as you said knocking on the door.
Village lost because they paniced, during the game and in the penos.
Grattan had leadership on the pitch throughout. They never paniced.

Ah ref, come on. Losing on penalties, could’ve easily won the game. Point is they were written off after the first 2 weeks and now look much better then what they showed then. I’m sure Grattan will come away thinking they were in a much tougher game then expected

Your the only one that speaks a bit of sense and people do in knock you down all the time I think you are spot on, looking at the app they were missing a good few players and looking a team it looked like a makeshift team and if village couldn't beat a team missing few starters they have no chance in league, I'm saying it for years village were always a cup team but never a league team and I stand by that

Agreed with you on a couple of points there, Grattans experience showed, Village had chances to out it to bed and didn’t, Grattan got the sniff and made it count, agreed about the 100 people on the line part, hypes the players up but that usually leads to rash decisions
