Good to see Luke back to Coachford and Dean with Village, not sure how long both will last but good to see Senior talent in the AUL. Who's the superstar on the way to Village Hacker? I thought they were finished with signings. Have Grattan brought anyone of note?.. two CBL teams have left and headed over to the AUL, are the tides changing. Hearing most teams sick of playing too many midweek fixtures and then giving teams free weekends, fixtures secretary not listening.

It’s due to start the 21st.
Why has it changed to Munster/Fai to start with?
Normally a rounds played early will prob have a couple of league games first few weeks. I see that most leagues are down to 14 games in season bar Div 3 so they might prioritise a few rounds of that first not sure what the situation with referees is this year have we lost/gained ?

The divisions look to be balanced on quality with maybe the exception of the 3rd division.
Hopefully all very competitive which is exactly what is needed.
The league needs to get back to 50 teams 5 divisions of 10 with all clubs having 18 competitive league games ,that should be the main target for the league in the short term

3 of UCC are gone to.
Let’s be honest it’s all teams in the CBL not clubs they will come and go.
AUL still has a few “clubs” left but not many!

Sone news out of Castleview.
Two full size Astros in conjunction with the AUL and the City Council as part of a 2 million project.
A huge step in the right direction.
Well done to all involved.

The few that left castleview fc to go to knocknaheeney celtic are gone back to castleview fc apparently all not well in the knocknaheeney camp and players not buying in to managers ideas and philosophy either on the astro turf castleview fc are gonna be calling all the shots on this it is there land that it's been built on all our clubs are gonna play second fiddle to it because with and see the senior side will have priority over aul clubs and the junior and school boy/girls section will be playing/training etc on it watch this space.

Money put in by AUL to the 2 million is pittance. They won't have ownership. But its huge money got what they have to be fronting up.
They will be able to have cup finals there and off peak time slots.
Saturday evenings, Sunday afternoons, etc.

Ok I’ve heard different about the Astro and the AULS levels of use.
But let’s say you are correct what’s the AULS entitled to?
And where is the money coming from to build it?

Castleview have 2 other Grass pitches. Thats 8 teams at one giving time can play up there . Over 6 hours on a Saturday u could hold 24 Teams should be plenty of room for whatever the Aul need in my opinion.
Cant Fault the Aul for trying regradless of the Argreement no other league has a place to call home.

I personally used to despise playing on Astro, I get that it’s needed for games to go ahead especially after the fiasco last season, but will the teams up there be using that as their default pitch for home games like mayfield united seem to do? That will get in the way as well if they do

I see another team has left the CBL , place literally is falling apart over there . They will have great media presence but only Grangevale playing at the rate they are going

Teams will go and come over there. From what I've told they've gained teams.
We are all well aware that problem having been at 120 teams. Bohemians, Blarney Street, Ard na Laoi, Glenvale, etc.
The problem with it is the value of promotion and relegation each year. Corkbeg in Premier A and Watergrasshill in Premier. Changes that weren't at end of season successes and failures. Maybe AUL should look at cutting D3. It's as bare up top as ever.
So much potential to promote the league. Outside of Barry, there hasn't been.
As a previous poster said, we've a few clubs and mostly teams. If the clubs moved on to MSL like they should, we'd be all teams.

I think they will always have a fair turnover of teams. Decent teams will probably move on outta there cos will get fed up and will fancy a challenge but there will always be a john graces fried chicken fc that fancies a year kicking ball with their buddies to fill out their teams

I am hearing a fair few clubs/teams in the MSL struggling as well. Casement supposed to have folded . Buttevant and glasheen struggling as well I am led to believe

Ya it's dissapointing for clubs with good history going bust. Some looking to go Junior. Lots of factors with generations of 18+ coming out of youths not sticking at it or brought up by club either.

Along with that a lot more younger people going travelling now and the amount of teams around are crazy trying to hold onto lads. Better players will be poached by the household names in MSL. It’s just how it is, a lot of clubs named in earlier post are around a long time so it’s a shame to see.
Any update on FAI Connect clampdown in the AUL this year will it be compulsory in every game?

It's not the fai.... its the cork aul the season starts Saturday week and I can guarantee you there will be teams play next week that will have player's illegal but then again the cork aul representatives will brush it under the carpet like they did last season.. word on the parish is castleview/juniors/senior's were heavily beat by passage in pre season friendly

If it's okay to use a paper sheet at any game next week, question everything of your opponents teams.

Jesus lads ye really are getting wound up about this.
Connect is fairly straightforward yes it can be slow at time putting new lads on and registrations can be rejected for various reasons but you get a reason for this rejection, you fix this and resubmit and it most cases you are good to go.
All our lads got made active by the AUL durning the week and emails came for them saying they had been made active.
Any blame lies with the club secretary if lads aren’t ready for the season ahead everyone had plenty notice to get it right.
As for the paper match card that is an extreme situation if you have no internet or a problem with your phone.
This should be an very rare occurrence as you can set up your team and squad at home before you every get to the ground

Great to see fixtures back. Anyone know why Village Donoghmore View and Coachford will have 2 league games played while Hill play no game then?? UCC are the same but in fairness I have no issue with them getting grace for a few weeks. It's not like they are walking leagues/Cups every season so you would rather see them stay involved in the AUL for the sake of giving them a few weeks.

Deligthed to see Coachford playing early. Biggest critic of their late starts through the years. I even think it's very unfair on them and all Premier teams that Watergrasshill are not playing early. Same old bull. Salt n Pepper can't blame TF this year. Shandon had no level playing field with Watergrasshill last season.
Some fine players added into the league this year in Luke Casey, Dean O'Connell and Jamie Murphy. Tough start for Village too with Castleview and Coachford. Meanwhile Watergrasshill watch on before they play when they are at their strongest.
Top 2 leagues will be very interesting. I wonder can a change of scene give JP one more lash of goals at Knocka.
Ah reff hes off
12/08/2024, 7:02 PM
Typical watergrasshill be looked after not with the gaa.
Surprised coachford are playing the start.
Jo to knocka maybe one last push.
Adam lee wasn’t on the sheet yet for grattan is he moving?
Also great news for castleview with the pitches.

Based off next Wednesday night’s opening fixtures my predictions would be grattan to win by 3 or 4 goals whereas if both village and castleview are missing nobody due to it being midweek Im going a 1-1 draw or 2-1 win for castleview!
Good to see village putting in the effort with the new dressing room efforts put up on facebook!
Also interesting game tonight gattan vs jaybazz in that inter league club competition, should be a stroll for grats but never say never

Wouldn’t be too confident with Gratts just yet havnt seen much of dem and haven’t heard of many signings. Be interesting to see what they do tonight. I’ll start off the predictions for top two leagues
Premier
1.coachford
2. Gratts
3. Village
4. Watergrasshill
5. Castleview
6.Donoughmore
7. UCC
8. Springfield
Premier A
1.knocka
2. Shandon
3. Waterloo
4. Wanderers
5.strand
6. Corkbeg
7. Glenthorn
Looking forward to games next Wednesday. Should be two good games in premier to kick us off
