looked like a sell- out at Richmond - Stand full, Camac full apart from a no-mans land under the TV gantry, loads behind the goal at the Inchicore end and in front of the (closed) shed - no idea what that adds up to.

to jebus and one or two others, official attendance at the bottom of the table clash tonight in terryland was 1704. Not exageratted but accurate and GUFC are one of the very few clubs in the league that let their supporters independently assess and count the gate. Also less than a mile away connaght rugby were playing a big game as well

You'd think so wouldn't you, but ye did get promoted off the back of it last year, so obviously they aren't too pushed about sending their own men out to check attendences.

As for your oh so witty remark about counting, well maybe I should have said figured the attendence to be about 700-800 people, but I'd like to think that some day people won't be so anal on this website, obviouisly that day hasn't arrived

Good call I'd say. Stand holds 1800 plus add on say 100 for overcrowding in the Bohs section and the same for people on the steps at the other end. Pats section of the Camac was absolutely jointed, I was on tip toes trying to see half the time and I'm 6'2". I assume the Bohs section was equally packed. Add on a few hundred behind either goal and 4500 sounds about right.

And you're right, Pats will understate the official attendance.

And you're right, Pats will understate the official attendance.

Just interested, why will Pats want to understate their attendances? I've seen the way they count the attendance (pre-numbered tickets, deduct the unsold numbers from the total printed), it would be easy to check so why not ask to check it one night if you don't believe it?

The website has a figure of 3728.

The taxman. CCFC definatly do it as well.

The taxman.

They have a billionaire businessman as an owner and you think he'd happily agree to risk his reputation with Revenue over a few hundred quid at Pats? Highly unlikely.

Very decent crowds overall tonight by all accounts esp in cork and at pats, galway too deserve a mention for a very healthy turn out considering their awful start.

Stato I'm going by the first few home games of the season when the attendance announced seemed (note: seemed) considerably lower than what appeared to be there. I wasn't the only one surprised.

If it's just the number of unsold tickets taken from the number printed, how do they factor in 500 Club members / season ticket holders?

And yes, I agree, with Special K on board, there's no real need to diddle the taxman. After all, "we've got fifty million in the bank" :D

500 Club members and season ticket holders have a book of tickets and give in one ticket at the turnstiles at each match. They just add them up. I know the guys on the turnstiles keep them separate to be counted.

If you're playing Bray, you're probably doubled over laughing at their "defence".

I know where you're coming from obviously; it's just a bizarre way to determine who's a home fan and who's an away fan. dmanetc's point is pretty much accurate.

I'd guess about 1200 at the RSC last night for Waterford United v Derry.

Approx 1300 at the RSC. The stand was fairly full with the exception of the away end. - 1150

Around the ground - 150-200.

My guestimate: 1300-1350

1011 at the game last night according to Finatan Cassidy on Shelsweb. With that official figure I'd up my estimate of last weeks game v Athlone to 1100 as there were definitely more at the Athlone game

RE Athlone V Kildare. Tough one to call. If their stand holds 2,000, then it was about a quarter full. Very sparse really. Couple that with the people that went around the pitch, and I would say there was a crowd of 550-600 at the game.

Maybe that could be verified / contradicted by an Athlone fan?

Has to be the highest ratio of female/male supporters in the league (or any other league maybe:eek: ). This should be the key selling point of any marketing drive to the lonely bachelor farmers of Monaghan.

Yeah I know....we are very much a family club where husband, wife & kids come along. Its the way it should be if you ask me. At least 10 of those females are under 35 too so its not like its just the mammies of the players or anything.

Anyways there arent many lonely bachelor farmers in Monaghan.....they are so rich all the goldiggers have them snapped up.

Discuused this with atfconline at half time that it was well less than half of what is normally there and we estimated about 700 so we could go with the estimate by Philly of 600 as he was looking across into the stand and we were estimating from the press box.

After watching the muck played on the pitch could be even less against Harps in two weeks.

well we need to buck up our attendances but i dont think there that accurate where did you get our attencance figures from could have sworn there were 600 (give our take 50) at our game vs killkenny,
well i personally am hopin for a big crowd for our game against shels the weekend and seeing a good perfromance for the support that turns out to maintain it,
people in cobh are very fickle about supporting there local team:(
