Conservative guess of 3,500 at City Drogs today.

Crowd at GUFC - Bray looked a lot bigger than the official attendance of 1553, stand was pretty full and a large crowd was behind the dressing room goal

Looked on the mark to me. Looking accross from the new stand side there was plenty of empty spaces in the stand, especially down by where the Bray fans where.

There were more than that, I reckoned about 350 or 400.

300 from the photo I have, 270 in the stand and another 30 around the ground.

Aside,
There was a big gang of foreigners who were good fun. They got ludicrously excited every time Longford entered the UCDD half.

To be honest the crowd did not look like it had halved from 3000 for the Cork game to 1500 for the Bray game, I stand to be corrected.

i thought it did tbh. half the seats in the stand were empty and there were very few behind both goals and on the 'new stand' side. even those standing at the back of the 'old stand' were only one deep whereas for cork it was 3 or 4 deep. even section A was only about half full on friday

I was standing at the new stand so had a good view across the pitch, section A was not full and the Bray section was not either, but I have seen the stand with much less people and bigger attendances recorded, but we will go with the official figure, as I was not counting!

yes but it was full for the cork game, and i was in the same spot for both games. definately about half the crowd on friday night

Was there bad weather? Or any other possible explanations??
I think the novelty bubble has officially burst...

No, the weather was good. The crowds have been dropping steadily, but this is about half the previous lowest attendance for a league game. Looks like the results are turning people off, unfortunately. Maybe it's just a blip, we'll see on Tuesday against Limerick. Although I'm sick of looking at them this season!

Just back from a week away, so here's an update. I've included tonight's games as well; just want to fill the gaps that have some up in the last week really. (2) is a game in the second series of matches.

Cork - 3,350 (2,941; 3,644; 4,033)
Derry - 2,929 (3,229; 2,698; 1,672) (missing Drogheda and Waterford)
Drogheda - 1,813 (1,751; 1,682; 1,554) (missing Waterford)

Longford - 615 (681; 1,004; 1,131)
Pat's - 2,029 (1,342; 1,599; 1,882) (missing Cork; Derry figure stil an estimate? (1,900))
Rovers - 1,656 (1,089 FD; 1,539; 1,349) (missing Pat's)
Sligo - 1,263 (1,806; 1,794 FD; 781 FD) (missing Rovers)
UCD - 693 (546; 653; 306 FD) (missing Bohs)
Waterford - 1,248 (915; 1,513; 1,753) (missing Sligo)

FIRST DIVISION
Athlone - 815 (421; 316; 291) (missing Wexford)
Cobh - 534 (368; 403; 240) (missing Harps)
Dundalk - 1,610 (1,078; 474; 591)
Harps - 640 (428; 1,347 PD; 1,106)
Kildare - 255 (265; 186; 298)
Kilkenny - 141 (122; 185; 110) (missing Monaghan and Dundalk 2)
Limerick - 767 (364; 669; 188)
Monaghan - 231 (204; 183; 182) (missing Kilkenny 2 and Wexford 2)
Shels - 1,068 (1,690 PD; 1,949 PD; 2,158 PD) (missing Dundalk 2)

In fairness the weather was awful all day long and with not much cover there unless you want to go behind the goal the crowd was always going to be hit.

Was shocked at how far from completion the new stand was.

Highly impressed with the bar though, it proved difficult to get out of :)

I'd go for 2,800 at the Brandywell v Galway. Very good crowd for a Sunday evening

They won't be back unless we start seeing some goals though.

Agreed, I was going to say 170 though. Great away support for a Tuesday evening. Probably about 120/130 Reds there.

Spot on. Bank holidays should be used instead of midweek. Certain FAI "officers" were told this but to no avail.
