That's because we beat you!

Had we lost on Friday we'd only be ahead of Waterford on GD and we're away to them this Friday.

It was a must win game for us, thank god for the chinese gambling syndicate for arranging the floodlight failure...

I thought that everyone had more or less concluded what had been the case all season long - that one of Longford or Waterford would go straight down, with the other in the play-off ?

I heard that a points system was going to be used this year, whereby each win gains three points for the team that scores the most goals. In the event of a tie or "draw" both teams are awarded one point each. At the end of the season all "points" are totalled up for each side with final league positions being allocated appropriately. This applies to all teams except Longford, obviously :ball:

It's been fairly clear from very early this season that Waterford and Longford where going to be in trouble. Waterford because they're poor and shouldn't have been in the league from a playing point of view, and Longford because they're not much better and had a 6pt deduction.

Maybe you need to wait until the end of game 33 foer the penny to drop.....:)

This is very true - I don't trust the unofficial "league tables" that are printed in the papers and on websites and such. They've been known to be wrong before. :)

That figure represents paying customers only so it doesnt include season/concession ticket holders. There was another 150-200 standing around.

Approx 1400 there.

I thought that was a 'large' crowd for us:D

Rain had everyone in the stand so crowd would have looked better from there anyway about 200 in the stand and twenty outside along the perimeter.

Are freebies included in official attendances?

I heard during the week that the GAA gave out 15,000 free tickets for last weekends Railway Cup (Interprovincial Finals) but the official attendance was 10,000. :D

GAA attendances give the figure that actually turned up (no. of tickets scanned at turnstiles). The 55,000 Cyprus game seems to show that the FAI are now following the policy (seeing as tickets sold should have been closer to the Germany attendance and there were quite a few no-shows). The old Lansdowne road figures, where the attendance was nearly always exactly 34,000 people showed that the FAI didn't care too much about announcing the correct number.

For LOI attendances, who knows:confused: Its hard to know what should be included in the official figures when the FAI don't release them. IMO, the attendance figure should cover everyone who actually attended the game (including freebies but not including season ticket holders who didn't go).

Everybody who enters the ground should be included in the attendence figure whether they had a free ticket or not.

Haven't asked about the attendance yet but my guess would be around 2500.

Radio reports had the attendance at 1800 for Cobh, their highest attendance all season  We were disappointed with our attendance.

There is close to 1500 heading to Kilkenny. (well there was before friday, id say the majority still heading)

There's not great support for Cobh at all. Harps would be a better addition to the Premier crowds-wise than Cobh would be.

they dont even go to school down there so dont depend on them counting. The GUFC is the only gate thats allowed to be independently audited by a supporters group also next seasons season tickets at terryland will be state of the art electronic passes enabling counts instantly at turnstiles and emailed to head office instantly . Official attendance at Terryland- 2,2??.

Didn't hear the last two figures.

Bit sad that UCD couldn't muster 20-25 lads together to make some noise for a team that were fighting to stay out of the play-offs, which could easily have been a possibility as things turned out. Atmosphere was a bit surreal at times as UCD piled on the pressure near the end without any vocal support.

Actually Stu,i think a quick glance into our forum and you'll find you're a bit of a troll yourself, who also appears to be obsessed with GUFC.

2288 was the attendance.Love the way you think it was a bit high despite it been consistent with our attendances through out the year.
Besides,as a UCD fan,you wouldn't know much about big crowds in fairness.

I know enough about crowds that an attendance of 2288 requires there to be people in the main stand - http://foot.ie/showpost.php?p=811823&postcount=10.

The new stand was between half and two thirds full. 2/3rds of 1500 is 1000. Where were the other 1300?

Like the way Galway fans harp on about Limerick fans being obsessed with their no mark club, and yet everytime I click into a thread with a few of them in it they seem to bring Limerick into the equation

How dare you Stu!?! I mean what would Galway have to gain from pretending they get more fans now they have already tricked the FAI into thinking they are a MASSIVE club!? Bloody UCD, again with the obsession :p
