a) Local derby. One that has the ability to attract bigger crowds than the much-hyped Bohs-Rovers derby, that is the only one anyone seems to think is of note in the league..
b) 2,000 away fans might've helped a bit methinks......
BTW - 5,000 was a sell-out crowd. There'd have been more if the capacity was higher (I know that there were Derry fans who couldn't get tickets at least).

Tickets were still on sale for Harps v Derry outside the ground before the game.
I'd have estimated the crowd nearer 4,000 but still very impressive given the awful weather.
Good banter between both sets of fans aswell.

Obviously I was being kind to the culchies in giivng them the benefit of the doubt re sales to their own fans :D
Did we not sell out our allocation at least anyway ?

We definately sold our allocation, but with the river end open there was a lot more space for Derry fans so not surprised they sold more tickets. COvered stand looked jam packed and town end about half full.
It really was dire weather as well. Cold, wet and very windy. At least 4 inflatable sheep ended up meeting a grizzly end in the Finn......although it was probably a kinder way to go that if we'd left them to the locals :D

Decent crowds at Belfield and Terryland tonight.
Didn't get home in-time to watch the live game, so don't know what the crowd was like at Dalymount.
Will be interesting to see what the other attendances were like tonight.

Not likely. The usual 400 for us. Bit extra if you really want to be kind as we had 60 kids from a recent soccer camp down (playing at half time, most of them)

Consensus on Derry City Chat is that there was c. 2,600 at the game with Bray last night.

Around the 500 mark imo.
Unfortunately they oversold our section as usual, as as well as being cramped some people who had paid for stand tickets were forced to stand on the track

Some things don't change. How difficult is it to sell tickets to match the capacity of the stand? Not surprised Waterford crowds are low because its a horrible ground to watch a game at as no view from the track.

agreed on both but the crowd has been getting smaller and smaller with us falling down the table in recent weeks plus the county is in pre All Ireland mode so id fogive our attendance this time.

That dosent include season tickets so about 1,700 in total

A was completely empty, B not much better and C started to have the crowd in. I'd guess about 1800 in the Jodi and about 500 elsewhere, so 2300ish not far off

Is Waterford Utd breaking the FAI rules if they don't include Season Ticket holders in the official attendence figures?

yes, every single person should be included in the official figures, but I dont think the figures that do be posted here by the waterford fans are the official ones?

Would have said around 850 at Ramblers/Shels but we could split the difference and say 800.

I'd go with about 750 at Cobh game too. About 50 of us. We weren't allowed into their part of the ground so couldn't really see how dense their crowd was

Seemed like a failry standard crowd at United Park - 1700-ish?
Looked to be a fairly decent UCD crowd at it - was biggest i saw in a long time - even had a few flags, getting a bit of a cult following now Stu ? Drogs fans were very quiet.
