30 mins to go. The game has been a bit too sedate up to know. I fear a late blitz from RB.

What's all the worry about? Salzburg look nothing special, and I'd doubt Zagreb would be much better than them, maybe a bit.

they are only making things more difficult and tiring themselves more by blasting the ball forward. that lad brennan was the only one who seemed to hold up the ball and spread it around

that murphy kept giving the ball away when he came on the last day, and again today.

The Midget Gem

Need to keep the ball for a bit. Risky business sitting back and hoofing it away, its only going to come straight back at you.

looks like sheridan was right about that murphy lad. is that really the best bohs have to bring on?

Salzburg are actually playing really badly. Bohs seem to be giving them too much respect from my brief viewing - particularly just lumping clearances anywhere - but Salzburg are awful whenever they get around the box; almost couldn't-be-bothered awful. Still getting a lot of play, so it seems if anyone's going to score, it'll be them, but I'd say it's long odds short on the 0-0 at this stage (as the Austrian commentator shouts out "JANKO!")

Salzburg should've scored there. Sloppy play.

It's a typical Irish attitude that we're used to on a World/European stage. We always title ourselves as the underdogs and stand off them.

In fairness, I think Fenlon in particular has a track record in that regard.

Partly at fault .

The reason Murphy was in no mans land was because the header was so poor, awful from Rossiter

Fecking typical from Bohs. Salzburg were absolutely ****e but in a typical Irish manner Bohs just showed them respect and stood off them for 90 minutes. Then when they realise that they're actually no better than them, it's too late. A stupid, sloppy goal in the 87th minute is the difference.

History of Irish sport it seems...

they can have no real complaints about outcome, they came up agonisingly short, but that is the risk you take when you try to simply defend a lead.

Unlucky Bohs, realisticly are they now fooked???

There goes Bohs' business plan anyway.

Hard to argue that Salzburg didn't deserve it in the end. Arguably sums up Pat Fenlon's deficiencies as a manager too. Second half was almost one-way traffic, albeit one-dimensional, unimaginative one-way traffic. If Bohs had had a go, they could well have gone through. Two poor sides though; Zagreb must have enjoyed watching the game.

Harrington winning 3 majors
Bernard Dunne winning a world title.
Ireland beating England 88 and Italy 94

I could name a lot more success.

Salzburg are not much of a team, Bohs should have knocked them out, only a stupid error cost them, but in saying that, Bohs could have easily not been in that position, they were there to be taken and Bohs were not attacking enough.

I don't think it is Rossitters fault. Bohs were set up wrong tonight. They didn't make any effort to attack. Fenlon needs to stop going nuts there at the end at the Salzburg manager. It's his own fault that his team is out and probably ****ed financially. Salzburg are rubbish.

Perhaps should have narrowed that down to soccer but for every triumph we have, we have plenty more hard luck stories to match it.

But sure the nature of sport is that for every triumph there is, there's a hard luck story to match it. Shels' win over Hajduk, for example, was a hard luck story for Hajduk.

You make your own luck in sport. In particular, you don't sit back playing for a draw against a poor enough team.

I hate to say it but Bohs are now going to be in serious financial difficulty. There's no where else for money to come from and they'll end up the same as Drogheda.

It's not a gut feeling, I know from experience what this result means.
