Rylane were officially relegated from 1A today after defeat to Donoughmore, who will join them, its between Ballyvolane, Glen Celtic, Passage, Fairview and Buttevant. I think Dillons Cross will get out of it as they still have a couple of games in hand.

We have nt heard anything back as such from the AUL but i dont think we ll get any thing from it .......hopefully we wont need it anyway!!

Castleview 1 Ballyvolane 1

Missed the game myself but by all accounts Ballyv could have and maybe should have won it. It just leaves one game left against Greenwood away so we are still in with a shout.....................

The lack of all premier ties? Just the one.....

Permier A sides getting a rough time of it

Is the note on the AUL site indicating semis & final on the June weekend - Im not being cocky and planning our final!! - just curious?

Well done to Grattan for making a fight of it, after a dodgy pre-Xmas spell. Park are a good side.

Leeside V Kinsale - either worthy champs.

On the subject of Leeside's mountain of games, the best I heard was Maymount, 11 wins & 1 draw from 12 games in the month of April.

Was very surprised that Park beat Grattan to put them out of contention for the League.
However, Park have been going close against the top teams lately - it was just a matter of time before they caught someone.

I hope Grattan don't pack it in now, and remain competitive for their last game v Leeside
I remember last year when Leeside lost 5 or 6 nil to Wilton late on in the season.
Leeside were Munster Champions at the time and we were a little dissapointed that they didn't put up a better fight against Wilton than they did against us earlier in the season.
I've never got a soft game from Grattan so here's hoping they finish their impressive season on a high note.

To emphasise how tough the league is this year - Grattan could come 3rd on 40 points!!!
That total would have won a lot of leagues in the past. We won it with 36 in 2006.

At the moment its out of our hands and if Leeside win their six games in hand we cant catch them, and good luck to them if they do.
If they drop any points we will have to beat them in our last game to win the league.
A big ask for us at the moment - Leeside have to be hot favourites, but football can be very strange sometimes :D

We will concentrate on the Mossie Linnane for the moment and see what happens...

Littleman, if you ask me I’d be thinking the bandit is trying to upset ya and cause unnecessary tension between Grattan and leeside .
Is he a kinsale supporter or just backed them to win the league?
It's all too suspicious for me.

Shilts seems to be at the same crack more or less writting kinsale off when they are around 16? points ahead. Cleaver tattic but sticks put a mile.
You said it yourself awhile back it's the points on the board that matter.

Fairview 1-2 Bohs ...........3 points clear top of the league and a game in hand.
Brilliant team performance tonight from the strikers to the keeper everyone put it in,tough game but controlled it well led 1 nil at the half and scored a great 2nd midway through the 2nd half to lead 2-0 conceded an unlucky own goal to give fairview a chance but controlled the game after that slip up to comfortably finish it out.......
Off to Rathcoole sat afternoon which could be a big decider in the league for both teams!!

Shilts, seems like only last week we needed ye to do us a favour now its ye needing one from us.But I must admit Shilts its a bit gauling to think any side would roll over to hand the title to someone. What certain sides got up to last season may have been hard for ye to take but we have no intention of slacking up despite our recent blip.Knowone to blame for us but ourselves. But we still have a lot to play for.

That's a good winning attitude to have, Littleman
That's why the Gratts are one of the top sides around
Every game is important and every loss should hurt
The best teams give nothing away easy - no matter what's at stake
That type of winning mentality will serve Grattan well in the years to come

Congrats to Macroom - see you next season
Some good players there and a good bunch of lads too
Enjoy your win, well done!

Big evening last night for Innishvilla - Youths beat Ballyvolane 1:0 in a winner takes all final league game of the season. Super result, I'd like to offer congrats to both teams. It is the 1st ever league title for an Innishvilla team in the AUL. We've won a few underage recently in the Cork Schoolboys league, but first ever for the Junior/Youth section of the club. Innishvilla's second year in the youths league and Ballyvolane's 1st so a credit to both sets of players and managers.
Hopefully the Innishvilla Juniors can ride the wave of emotion/celebration until their own winner takes all gave v Glenvale for the AUL 2 title (again not forgetting Hibs they need a draw to get in on the act).

Park 3-1 Rathcoole another great result for us!!! Park flying at the moment very hard team to beat down ther i knew rathcoole would have it hard ...any reports Park Boy?
Yeah great win for us scaffa. We went 1 down after 10 minutes but this gave us the wake up call we needed and we really went at them after this.Went in at half time 1 - 1.We made 2 changes at the break and the fresh legs really killed them.To be honest we expected a much tougher game from them as they are challenging for the league but like you said at home we are a match for any team in the league.
Leeside C 1 - 1 Park Utd B
Played the first leg of county cup last night. Were 1 down inside the first 15 minutes. The ref gave one of the worst penalty decisions ever. Our centre half charged down a shot and it was clearly ball to hand.Got it back to 1-1 15 minutes later.Pitch was very poor but still have it all to play for at home next Saturday in the second leg.
Our A team were beaten 1 -0 at Leeside last night.

Sound man The Bandit for the wellwishes for the end of our season. we are going to give it a right go anyway. must say though the fixtures are coming so close to each other that talking to some of the lads they are feeling abit tired, but we do have a 2nd and 3rd team in club to fall back on for squad players and there is a few in both teams well able to step up to the 1st team. as a said we are going to give it a right crack. would agree with ya all right that we are prob best team in the league. and super mario i would say kinsale 2nd, grattan 3rd and wilton 4th, dont know where ye would come into list but thats my opinion anyway.
first team had another good win last night 1-0 at home to park, wasnt at it as i was at the c team game but from what i heard deserved the win and should of had another 2 in first half but didnt take the chances, where made work for it in the 2nd half by a good park side that beat grattan at the weekend.

Leeside c 1-1 Park B
parkboy a would agree with you about the peno, was a hrsh decision but i think we had a stone wall shout 10mins later for another pen when one of our players was pushed on line 2 make it 2-0, so they cancelled each other out. was a tough game for both sides because of the conditions and to be fair 1-1 was the fair result on night. where delighted to be travelling up on sat still in the tie as alot of people wrote us off having any chance at all as a 3rd div team in county semi-final. Looking forward 2 sat and giving it a good crack

bluey
29/04/2010, 12:07 AM
not rubbing anything into anyone faces to be quite honest, we where asked if we had the squad to cope with the fixture pile up and i think its fair 2 mention that we have 2 other teams in club to deal with that who are both performing well at moment. well super mario, little island is not a big catchment area, its bloody factories more than anything else, clubs that are near to us would be brooklodge and knockraha who would be a bit closer to glounthaune than little island. so i think alot of people on this forum would agree that its impressive

Played against gratts couple of times and I don't think they are one of the top clubs around.they might think they are or their manager might think so but for me they are a very average junior .

I'm not Grattan or a northsider so I'd like to think I'm not too biased, but I'd have to disagree with you there Magnet. In the Cork AUL (which is the thread we're in) Grattan United are one of the top sides - they have been champions and there or there about for the last few years, I don't have all the stats but they, like Kinsale and Leeside (also Park and more recently Wilton, other I could mention too) are one of the top clubs in the AUL...

What the hell's after happening here. A few Limerick posters come on and manage to get guys sniping at each other - are they trying to shut down this tread like they did to the FAI one???

I don't see where magnet is coming from regarding a supposed "anti" Leeside. I think most on here would agree they are one of the top sides in Cork, we all wished them the best in the MJC and FAI as we do to all Cork teams in the out of town section. But we can't all agree on everything. I will always back Innishvilla in a debate, Bluey & Co. will back Leeside, the wee man will back Grattan etc etc...

I feel best way is to just ignore the comments from people just stirring it... And get on with commenting on the leagues we're involved in.

Not saying it should be all hugs and kisses, I expect differences of opinion, but a few recent posters on here are not trying to add anything constructive to the discussions...

Holden, Im with Blackstone. I dont play much as the managers (including Olachico on this site) dont appreciate my talent fully!!!!!! I think Im Fowler, they think Im more like a Flower!

Magnet, one thing we dont do is diss others facilities. If the club you are with is lucky enough to have great facilities, fair play. Leeside or anyone else never mock anyone else's facilities and thats from us with facilities which are not the greatest.

Littleman, dont get drawn into knocking Leeside. I know you respect them and most of us do here. Healthy rivalry is fun!

Within Cork, as a Norrie, I probably want the northside teams to succeed more because I know people involved. I want Passage to win because I have relations involved etc. Between Kinsale & Leeside, for example, I have no preference. May the best team win. Same between two other sides for whom I have no preference one way or the other.

In comps outside Cork, we want the Cork teams to win. Everyone does.To borrow a phrase from another sport, Rebels ABU!!

Leeside have won provincial titles recently and you can't say that for the likes of grattan and kinsale.one with a plastic pitch and the other, let's leave that for another day.

Leave what exactly for another day?! Who has the plastic pitch? I can honestly say that Kinsale are lucky enough to have one of the best pitches in Cork! Definitely the best in the AUL! Ridiculous statement.

Leeside win again tonight. If they keep this up they'll be worthy champs, without a doubt. We'd obviously love to have a winner takes all down in Little Island but unfortunately it doesn't look like that is going to happen:disappointed:

I have been reading with a bit of interest on whats been goin on in this forum of late and i think we should start going back to basics and stop concentrating on, in my opinion, silly and petty remarks about individual clubs. The last thimg any of us want is a suspension or worse to have this forum shut down. Im all for a bit of banter but witout the personnal stuff concerning clubs and their facilities.
An example, i play with Ballyvolane and although, and im sure quite a few in here will agree, we dont have great facilities or a great pitch but there is a great honest bunch of guys who jst want to play football and hopefully win an aul trip to the 'cross for a day out, or even get a promotion. Not many players or clubs get to do that but what they do deserve is a huge amount of credit for having a team that gives it its all week in week out, win or loose no matter where or on what pitch they play on.
Its far from quality level pitches we were reared on !!!!
You take Prem A, Macroom champs, well done, but look at what Greenwood, Blackstone, and Leeds havedone in their first year up.......stayed up, and more importantly with 1 or 2 more wins could have been going up again. That must give the club great saticsfaction and something to build on for next year. Im not trying to be patronising here because i have huge respect for every team in my league and it happened to us 2 years ago....we stayed up, pushed on and got our just rewards last year against all the odds. You look at the likes of Bohs, Glenvale, Grattans 2nd team, Leesides 2nd and 3rd team, Innishvilla, Douglas Hall, Dillons Cross (2 cup finals),Springfield, Kinsale, but to name a few, all good honest teams and clubs with good futures ahead in the coming years because of one common theme......all trying to improve both themselves and their facilities.
For me these are the things we should be commending and talking about. Keeping the forum to good honest chat and Banter between clubs from all divisions............nothing wrong with odd argument either though !!!!!:)
But hey, thats just my opinion.
