Anyone spot a certain AUL representative at Aghabulllafords recent awards night. Pictures posted on Facebook. Can't say I've ever seen them turn up to another clubs night

At some point lads have to stop blaming everyone else the AUL, the weather, lack of players, no funding, the cost of Astros etc.

You got to grab the bull by the horns and get your own house in order set out your own high standards, get on funding and fundraisers and yes at times the price of an Astro will be required.

Be upfront and honest with players this is what is expected here no one’s forcing them to be at a club.

Success will follow might take an extended period but it will come and the club will be better for it in the long run.

There is plenty of clubs who will
half arse it I’m sure they would welcome people with similar mind set with open arms.
Spot on but most fellas involved with clubs at AUL won’t admit it. It’s too easy to blame everything and everyone else without taking a look in the mirror. Honestly the AUL attracts the biggest moaners and whingers in the world. Get the fundamentals right at your own club first and then worry about changing global football.

Lets just clarify something here right now . Clubs are in the MSL , Teams are in the AUL and CBL . There is a massive difference betweens a club and a team

How many of these above own their own grounds? That will narrow your list even further.

Must you own your ground to be considered a club?

Yes i think so , that is just my thoughts on it . Most MSL clubs would own their own grounds. Not all but most.

Why does owning your ground make you a club? What the difference between those “clubs” that don’t own their grounds?

I think the away team in CBL pays for the ref on match days. Still don't know how they afford to pay for an astro every second week tho very expensive unless getting sponsorship. Astro does seem the way forward tho, can't see teams/clubs agreeing to the summer league.

I understand what your saying play it out I heard this 5 game rule is still allowed but you think surely they should be a cut off point to where it has to stop coming so close to season ending personally I think playing senior and Aul completely two different league in the one week is crazy but we all have different opinions on it.

24/02/2024, 9:33 AM
What if a senior team is stuck in May?

It has no bonus to AUL side, if anything it just increases risk of injury.

It's been the case for as long as I remember and I have no problem with it.

Harsh ref
24/02/2024, 9:48 AM
Again all about opinions just two different league thing I find weird being honest you can play four games senior to see if you want to stay senior but all the time play AUL just in case you don’t but it’s a rule so I get why it’s allowed happen wonder will we get many games today.

Who?

Bit of a cup upset down in Cobh tonight, Springfield 2 Los Zarcos 6

Cup upset definately. Long trip down on a Friday night but having said that they are going fairly well in league and got the last 16 of the MJ Shield, did they beat Hill in one of the rounds? I may be wrong now. But good season for them and great to see lower league teams getting results against these teams. Beauty of the cup also!!

Looks like cathedral did just enough to get over the line against Boher. Bar a couple
of teams at the top of premier I don’t think there’s much between the decent teams in division 1, 2 and 3 and the rest in premier.

Ballwasthere
24/02/2024, 5:34 PM
Watergrasshill and shandon are both division one and I would fancy them to beat a lot of the premier teams if I’m being honest

As brutal as FOMC came across he's right .

Let's be honest either side drawed in a cup is an easy draw for Coachford , Ucc ,
Grangevale,,,,,,let alone poor Grattan

Oh iv a few good lads , done fxxk all
Oh I've a few who can play ball ,,,, won fxxk all.

League titals are all that counts

Cups are for the west hams an spurs, the rest win leagues.

Stop now

Aul dropped the ball again this year should of made 3 division made things more competitive 8 teams per is horrendous.

Fair point, but it’s working out this year with the amount of games being off due to weather and whatever reasons. The premier had 3 rounds of fixtures last year, if that was the case this year good night Irene. Nearly March and teams have as little as 6/7/8 games played!

Ballwasthere
26/02/2024, 9:44 AM
Glenthorn, City wanderers and Corkbeg, they’d probably beat Springfield at their home venues as well considering Springfield are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde, look unplayable on Astro, lose games to inferior teams on grass, they’d put it up to Grangevale as well I reckon

they’re two fine sides

What are lads saying that there is poor teams in the premier division or is there is just some strong teams in the lower divisions?

Play it out
26/02/2024, 11:34 AM
A good team on form with confidence in a lower division can definitely beat teams not at it in cup games. Makes it exciting.

Put the lower teams in higher divisions for a season and it would be different. Good games next week again.

Harsh ref
26/02/2024, 11:54 AM
Unfortunately have to agree with play it out here 1st and 2nd teams will give teams a game in some cup games but when they have to play week in week out against premier or premier A they would struggle big time some horrendous teams in both divisions let’s be honest
