Doesn’t look like Coachford have conceded the league on social media they are advertising the game saying they are going for a win and the league title.

Seen that fruice but surely their aware that Grattan were awarded the points for wanderers game so have Aul told them something different cause dogs on the street knows Aul got caught out by Grattan went they went over their heads.

Play it out

I would think it's a case of AUL haven't told them yet.

This happened two years ago the night before Springfield thought they were winning the league.

Joke.

City Wanderers have appealed the MFA decision so technically all to play for tonight , some mess of a situation though.

fruice
05/06/2024, 10:06 AM
Could someone please explain to me what’s actually being appealed or what is the cause of the protest in the first place.

It must be some technicality because if the AUL threw out the appeal, forcing Grattan to appeal the MFA and now City Wanders are appealing this decision.

It can’t be just a ringer!!!

TurnTheFullback
05/06/2024, 10:21 AM
I’ve been told it is one player signed for 2 clubs , City are claiming that he played for them first so should be with them but it’s all a mess , MFA and Aul saw the same evidence and had different outcomes and now City gone back to MFA , surely this stuff should be black and white.

Grattan or 100% champions we be pinting well tonight Fruice the player in question wasn’t signed probably on FAI connect we were told Friday it goes back to what I said two weeks back it’s the exact same thing as Knocka Cathedral player wasn’t signed probably Aul told Grattan same thing they told knocka player was signed go appeal if ye like turned out knocka didn’t get points even tho it was confirmed that player was illegal but unlike knocka Grattan had money for appeal which cost a packed so they went for it and the player wasn’t signed big boo boo by Aul could of cost Grattan title if they backed down fair play to the club for not rolling over like most clubs do when Aul hit you with appeal away it will cost a packed be interesting to see tonight how many of them Aul will turn up to watch game.

Question Harsh and I might be wrong but FAI connect isn’t in the Aul this season? , it is other leagues in the MFA though , if that’s the case then it is a little fishy to me. If he was signed to the AUL standards and they made a call , running to the MFA so they would make a call on their standards , isn’t there a chance that there is a load of players in the AUL not set up on FAI connect correctly ?

fruice
05/06/2024, 10:36 AM
So it’s a technicality that’s caused all this dispute and the player wasn’t registered correctly on the system.

So my understanding is he was playing under the illusion he was registered correctly all along so if this is the case he was incorrectly registered for all games.

But more importantly how did Grattan know he was registered incorrectly?

Harsh ref
05/06/2024, 10:49 AM
Fullback you still have to be register on it to play which all clubs were made aware at start of season I personally think Aul need to appoint someone to run this for um cause this is major mistake if this game was all to play for tonight and as I said no one in Aul will be held accountable they probably will go back now and hit Wanderers with a fine even though they said they did nothing wrong hahaha Fruice im not one to kiss and tell but tip off from a certain team over the bridge haha

Fair Harsh , sooner all the clubs are on this app the better , no one wants a league decided on a technicality but here we are, tonight’s game is more a dress rehearsal for the mossie in 2 weeks.

It’s black and white if a player is registered to play for your club or not. All clubs are using FAI comet/connect even in the AUL, the AUL just isn’t enforcing fai connect to be used on match days. You register your squad on fai comet at the start of the season and it’s crystal clear if a player is registered and eligible to play or not. I’m sure it’s easy for wanderers to pull the information they got from fai connect stating the player was registered or not.

The rule was made clear about Connect all players pictures or suppose to be up on it that’s the whole ideal of finding out if players or illegal at the Aul meeting that was made clear the minute it caused a problem 2nd game in Premier A the rules where changed Aul were letting it slip and starting this year I can guarantee anybody on this forum we will have same problem come august nothing will have changed.

fruice

Ok so the picture is becoming clearer.
The sequence of events as I understand (
Please correct me if I’m wrong)

City Wanderers play Grattan A Wanderers field what they consider an eligible team as all players registered with on the Comet system ( which must be approved by the
AUL before a player can play)

Wanders win the game.

Grangevale get involved( one would wonder why) and say actually “Seamus is registered incorrectly on the system he never put a fada in his name” ( again how do they know he is registered incorrectly).

They inform Grattan “hey Seamus who played for Wanderers isn’t registered correctly” Grattan thinks yes a get out of jail card.

Appeal to AUL who say “ he is on the Comet system as a wanderers playerno issue here result stands”

Grattan a bit worried by Coachford’s improving form think right let’s go to MFA with this which is allowed as upward appeal is now the only option open to Grattan.

They agree with Grattan that Seamus never put a fada in his name when actually he does have one so the player is not correctly registered so they accept the appeal and Grattan win the points.

City Wanderers now say that’s not right we now will appeal the MFA decision which I think goes upwards again to the FAI this time.

That’s my understanding of the events
My reason for the incorrect registration is obviously only made up but made it up
as I don’t know the exact reason.

If I were Grangevale and if it’s true they are the team sharing the incorrectly registered players information I’d be slightly worried as sharing a players personal information probably isn’t all above board under GDPR rules.

It’s getting more confusing to me but then again I’m probably paying too much attention to what harsh is saying with the emphasis on the photos on fai connect. Is he now suggesting that a player played under a different name? Thats the only thing where the photo is relevant.

If what you’re saying is true about a typo on the system in regards to a registered player, grangevale squealing and grattan trying to use it as a get out of jail card it’s not a good look for both of those clubs. I could be wrong but the system is fairly fool proof in terms of registering players unless someone was completely acting the ******** and giving a different name and date of birth etc. Wanderers would be pretty stupid if they were knowingly at that carryon.

It would take the AUL to end up with a mess like this!
What I would say is surely Grattan will be going all out to get a result tonight, if they lost tonight and went on to win their appeal there would be a big asterisk next to that league win in my opinion.
Fellas here talk about the Coachford bias but I bet the AUL are praying Grattan get a result tonight just to have this situation over with!
Also very strange that Grangevale would get involved when there was nothing to be gained for themselves

What you mean AUL never did their homework? If he was registered with another club on comet that would show up on the system. Unless they were intentionally trying to fool it.

Grangevale had their own appeal against the galacticos. Their appeal was rejected. so if anything Grattan got wind of that and the same player must have played against them and went and appealed AUL said no (shock) and then they appealed to MFA

Ah lads this is better than an episode of Corrrie.

Grangevale are nearly a better newspaper than a football club at this stage.
With all their social media post and now leaking people’s personal information some crowd to be fair.

Back to the matter at hand I suppose key to all this is who does the players 1st registration lie is it with Wanders or the club outside Cork.

If it’s City Wanders you would say they haven’t done much wrong.

Yes maybe their player deceived them but surely would have more consequences for the other club he was registered with.

But again who the first registration is with is the key to all this.

But how are Grangevale stuck in all this?

Why would you be bothered.

Premier was also very poor let’s be honest. Fair play to grattan can only beat who’s put in front of them but you can’t downplay castleviews win and not be honest about grattans league. That they might not even win yet. I’d say coachford are surprised themselves they are in with a shout still, they were fielding a team thrown together early season.

Started badly with the Cathedral & Knocka case. This will only get worse with the lads in charge.

As far as I'm aware, Grattan identified the player who had cost Galacticos points previously and no club in appeals be it Grangevale or UCC or Springfeld didn't get on to Grattan. The confusion around must be that the same player kept playing which if true is daft.

Grattan deserved the 3 points and the league. Several players illegal the night of the game. There must be a level playing field.

Wanderers player told me they struggled badly this year and "had to" play illegal lads to fulfill fixtures. I feel sorry for Corkbeg for waiting around regarding relegation.

Any club adjudged to have given a walkover will be fined by the management committee with a minimum of €150 to apply.

May as well charge them the €200 whats €50 among friends?

For all your talk, Harsh, Castleview beat Grattan. They did the double over Knocka and the double over Cathedral, Are you still bitter about them beating what's there of the Northside teams?
