One trick Castleview beat the two teams you mentioned to be the best teams in the north side? Say what you want about the view they’ve been poor with the same squad the last couple of years but managed to click this year but nothing is won and they’ll never be judged as a good team or the best team in the northside until they win a few trophies. Knocka were a good side and that’s all they were, they come and go as they please but on the other hand grattan regardless of how good or bad things are going for them they don’t fold and want to start from the bottom again and win a few trophies against a load of poor teams which knocka thought that. They wanted division 1 and ended up in premier A because Watergrasshill declined the premier A. Or maybe they didn’t want to be in the same league as Watergrasshill and felt they only had to beat Cathedral to win the Premier A.

A lot of clubs claiming to be the best in the northside.
Leagues are won in May,not February.

Some very interesting leagues there this year.

Prem - 3 horse race between grattan, ucc and coachford I still think.lots of football to be played.
I expect ucc to get better when the grounds get harder and they are going very well already.
Grattan flying in fairness and aswell as not coneding too many have a serious forward line.Haven't seen coschford since aoh last year but definitely wouldn't rule them out.

Prem A - prob the 1 league that does look like its nearly over.fair play to castleview but it's not the top league there..its prem A and not Premier for a reason.

Div 1 - looks like a Shandon watergrasshill battle here.shandon have added a lot of players lately.

Div 2 - 4 teams in contention here

Div 3 - Boher flying but will cup loss to harp affect them.
Rathcormac are a good young side. The forward morrison(I think his name is) is a class act

Hard to argue with anything here, division 2 is one of the most competitive I’ve seen in the AUL for a long time. Every team apart from Rylane and Parkview capable of beating each other. Mogeely in a cup final which is massive for them and I think the other 5 will be looking at promotion. Gonna say Boscos go up as champions ans Los Zarcos will pip Grattan to 2nd.

Agreed division 2 very competitive indeed Bosco's and Los Zarco's to play each other twice yet in the league. Depending on how those games go it could open things up for grattan and bweeng.

Isn’t that some trek for both teams playing away. Thank god I don’t have to make that trek on a Sunday morning

Bweeng and Grattan B will drop further points they concede too many goals their best hope is that it stays a 5 way scrap until the very end.
I think Imogeela are better than the above 2 barring their bad start I think they would have been in with a real shout of promotion

To be honest letting it up to the ref isn’t always the right decision because ultimately it’s the grounds man that should make the decision.

But after all the rain we had since last week common sense should apply the AUL will know pitches are wet and phone calls from clubs across the county will back this up.

Fruice, enjoy the here and now. Who knows if we’ll be around in five years. How many lads in teams are around for 5 years.

Soccer has gone very casual! Lads club hopping every year or two. Who cares if the clubs will be there in 5 years.

Lads get to play week in week out and that’s all you can ask.

Not starting a CBL debate again hahaha. If you ant to see games at the weekend. You can. And I bet you’ll be surprised by the standard!

I played in the cbl last year. Currently playing in the aul and previously played MSL.
There is 2 max 3 handy teams in the CBL
And I only mean handy.
We were beating reams by double digits when we played in it.. its well run but that's it. Standard is shocking.

I’m disappointed in this post being honest. A fella who was always way above the standard of CBL and always played at a high level of AUL. Let’s be honest CBL V AUL NO CONTEST.

Why are the AUL avoiding a CBL preseason friendly game for the last 4-5 years? You’d be shocked at the level of players they have! This is a first division player banging in a goal vs MSL!

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeBAETUy/

Would play for any AUL team! And he’s not even the best in his team! I’ve gone and watched a lot of games this year and my eyes have been opened!

Time to take your heads out of the bowl of cornflakes and realise the AUL isn’t all you think it is.

Didn't that MSL league team beat the CBL 9 1? Pretty pointless showing a goal to compare divisions. I've seen 10 year old hit worldies

City Wanders and Glenthorn Off last night. Hard to know if it’s due to pitch or due to numbers. Good bit of rain fell last night so I’m not sure how many games have a chance of going ahead realistically.

Also time we realised you arent who you claim to be.

Lets be realistic here . Outside of a few of the top senior sides the standard in Cork football is atrocious. The AUL isnt great and is badly ran. Once a few of the older heads on the committee move on that may change or it may not. One thing the committee of the AUL can't be blamed for is clubs folding.

The CBL has its own thread will you please go there to post as its pretty obvious you are a CBL member and not an AUL member.

Teams fold in the CBL too all the time. The difference being they just change their name to Arbutus Netflix international UTD FC and come back a few seasons later.

If you want to go play in the CBL as you claim to be an AUL player please do.
Off you go . Run along "Ivan" no one cares

Thought you would be more of a Coco pops kind of guy

The standard of the cbl is underpants let’s be honest fellas who couldn’t get into aul teams flying over in the cbl, didn’t castleview aul play jay bazz in a pre season friendly ? 6-0 and blown up with a half hour to go

I wouldn’t look too much into friendly and look at the competitive meetings between the leagues, the cow are the best team in that leagues history, there’s no competition for them either and they’ve never been able to get by a village side that hasn’t been strong since 2016/17, even the year village won the AOH they admitted themselves that they were poor and had incredible luck in more than a few games

Ballwasthere
10/02/2024, 11:18 AM
And that lad that scored the goal Matias, is average at best, he’d be lucky to get a game at Glenthorn or City wanderers, and they’re both poor, didn’t they lose that game 6 or 7-1 as well?

How is this ref calling the games off meant to work? Sure the ref isn’t going to see the pitch up until an hour before kick off earlier. Thats not ideal for teams that have to travel, imagine going form east cork up to rathcool and the ref takes a look at the pitch and says it’s not playable ??

Tryna figure out if a ref travels and calls off a game does that meant the refs travel expenses still have to be paid?woukd the home team have to pay them?
Lookin at games off it looks likes clubs were still able to call games this weekend.
Only greenwood game is going ahead
