Rossiter is gone from us. wasnt offered a new deal surprisingly. heard he could be off down south with work. could end up at cork or limerick!

Is he any use?

Baraclough quoted as showing interest in the Notts County job. Timing's not great, but the club have been dragging their feet on offering him a new contract, so I find it hard to blame him.

I heard contract offer has been with him for six weeks. naturally, he's going to be interested in anything decent in England.

Duggan is a good signing for Limerick. He'll be a loss to us.

Put it this way. I am very dissappointed if we haven't offered him a contract.

Kenny must have someone very very good lined up.

Any use!!! ... he's the best barman in the LOI.

Would have liked him to stay. Played the first half of the season at centre back and did alright there. Height caught him out but he was brilliant at right back which is where he normally plays. Few niggling injuries got him this year but overall he held out well most of the season on our "pitch"

Don't think there are many better right backs in the league. Most Dundalk fans will be disappointed to see him go and would have liked to have him in the first XI next year. All will be forgiven if Simon Madden makes a return.

Very good signing for Limerick if so. Always thought he looked tidy for Sligo and given enough responsibility could be one of the dominant midfielders in the league.

He's tidy, but he's not near good enough for a top Premier team. Will have two or three good games and then go missing for another five or six. Also gets pushed off the ball far too easily.

A few Derry lads reckon Madden is keen on a return to Dundalk.

We never wanted him to go in the first place. The brilliant mind of Sean McCaffrey said Madden wasn't good enough for this league, but yet half of Mervue's team was and several numpties from non league teams were also!

I was willing to give McCaffrey a chance. But when he came out with that comment, I gave up on him.

I'd like Madden back too.

You may have a point there on Rossiter, decent player, had some fine games, great passer, but you're right on the mising thing, def missed a few games during 2013. In saying that, I would like if he stayed on for cover, at least.

I think poster was talking about Lee Lynch.

This is not confirmed AFAIK, he wasn't one of the 11 offered a contract but that doesn't mean he is gone. He is probably in Kenny's maybe bracket and he is just taking his time.

I'd like Rossiter to stay, good player with a great attitude. He is much better at right back, but done alright at centre back and think he played once or twice at left back and done a good job there too. Maybe Kenny has someone else lined up and if that was Madden then brilliant, as he is a superb player. Even still I'd like Rossiter to be kept on, he is to good to a back up player, but as he can basically play anywhere in defence he be bound to get plenty of game time.

With Duggan in and hopefully Lee lynch to follow that's two top signings for limerick. We badly need a top winger a full back and a good centre half or two.

Gary Rogers, Gavin Peers, Jeff Henderson, Seamus Conneely re-signed. Delighted with the first three - three players who are among the best in their positions in the league - and Conneely's a useful squad player who might just have a bit more to him.

Conor Kenna linked to Rovers, this rumour goes around every year, seems to be at its strongest this year.

It would show a lack of ambition on Conors part to go from the Champions to a mid table side who's biggest focus is the league cup.

In a footballing sense this may be true but if Rovers were giving him a good bit more money then you could see why.

Terrific for Pats if they're going full time, but hard to see how they can afford it unless Kelleher's found another couple of million down the back of a sofa.

I'd imagine they're mostly on full time wages as it is. A player can live easily enough on 400-500 a week. A squad of 18 players on 500 a week is only 9,000, which even by League of Ireland standards isn't absolutely out of this world. Large European income as well as the title winning money should see them do it comfortably enough for one season at least on a trial basis. As long as they don't go offering silly contracts of 2 and 3 years then it's a good move in my view for the League champions to have a real go at Europe.

Yep, go full time and have a serious crack at Europe. Sure, what could possibly go wrong ? I'm just amazed no one ever thought of it before.

I think they'd need to maintain success and a good attendance everyweek for the next couple of years before they give professional football a go. It'd be a nice idea but as mentioned earlier, can't see Kelleher stumping up the money

Kenna the most replaceable of the back five.

400-500 might be grand for people to live on, and a lot do, but there's a reason why a lot of players in the league prefer the part-time set up. Once lads get into their mid 20s and start having families, it doesn't sound like such a great lifestyle anymore.

400-500 a week into a player's hand is almost double that by the time all tax, PRSI etc is paid.
