Why do some clubs not include season ticket holders in their attendance figures ?

deffo more than 1,800 at our match, as that would mean that everybody in the ground would have fitted in the Tracey Avenue Stand which clearly could not have happened.

WHY?
Because they're guessed, and afaik our counter at the gates is still faulty. I was told in the PB at our cup game V Bohs that the attendance was 1004, when we clearly had at least 1500.

In our case I think it's just a practicality. Season ticket holders are allowed park inside the ground, so any in cars flash their tickets at the gate and drive in, bypassing the turnstiles.
So because they can't count all people going in, they actually don't count any, and the attendance figure announced is just that generated by a tally of tickets sold on the night.
That 'paid in' figure is the more important one for the club anyway.

Can season ticket holders have a crew of people in the back of their car so? Or do they have to all pay in individually?

If you don't have a season ticket, you hop out of the car and pay at the turnstile.

Smallest traveling support i've ever seen from Derry - 25 perhaps?

Poor crowd from Galway there.
Quite a good crowd in Richmond Park, probably 1,800 or so with about 75 from Bray. An awful lot of An Post tickets aswell as other freebies used.

Really? Fair enough I probably overestimated a bit but i'd say there was more than that. Looked a healthy crowd compared to recent gates.

Poor crowd from Galway there.
It was a poor crowd but it wasn't that poor. Our official figures tend to be a bit on the low side.
Good crowd in Oriel and great support for Sligo. Wouldn't hazard a guess though.

GUFC's official figure is accurate. It includes season ticket holders too.

I've been told the opposite, that Season Tickets are not counted in our official attendance, and the figure given is for paid-at-the-gate. Bloody mixed signals once again coming from the club

The United figures are inaccurate. Last week a leading League official happened to be taking a count at the season ticket turnstile gate. While I was there, at least half the people who entered weren't counted by him.
The counting of season ticket holders is generally haphazard, a quick wave of the ticket and you are allowed through.
110 people entered under the "An Post" scheme.

About 150 at Town-Franchise!
God hope they don't go up, I'm not messing but if the game was in Fingal we would have brought more supporrt than they did!

I'd hazard a guess at about 4,200 at Rovers - Drogs tonight. Would be curious to hear the official figure if it's released.

Are you for real? Firstly at 7:25 there was only bout 52 in the ground, late arrivals pushed it up a bit and not much over the 100 mark maybe 120 tops.
Are you saying that you would bring more away than to a home game?
What was the story with the match programmes? Its a disgraceful move on Longfords part to issue a programme for a past game with little stickers covering the away team with Sporting Fingal's name written in .
The managers notes welcomed Athlone Town to Flancare park and you had the cheek to charge €3 for them.

More than that man, at least 5000 there. Main stand was full, bar away end and most of the new stand was full.

It always seems to look more empty in pictures than I think it is when I'm there so I was being deliberately conservative. I think Stu gets the official figures now so I'm curious anyway.

About 350 in Ferrcarrag with 30 or so Harps fans spread out in the ground. I have yet to leave that ground warm. It's right up there with Bray as being the coldest ground in Ireland.

I agree that charging three quid is too much, it has been all year even when we were producing programmes for each match. I don't know what they're doing with the stickers it was the same against Athlone but at least the notes in there were for the right game. As for the rest of the post, bickering over which team has the least pathetic support is downright embarrassing, in my opinion. On both sides.

You are joking? There was no way near 2,000 at the game. Tops 1,500 and probably less than that, would have said about 1,400 at the game.

Never mind your after-match activities, how many were at the game.

I think 1,500 was closer to the figure for Dlk v Sligo. Our avg is slipping by the week with our position almost secure.
Just as well we have Rovers next week.

tbh with the limerick game coming up there will be also the same match program produced with stickers like the other night.. you cant really blame the editor if firstly there is not much return from selling the programs and programs do cost money to produce after all..

Better off printing team sheets and handing them out I reckon. If you put stickers over old programmes hand them out for nothing or for a euro maybe as they're already left over. Three quid is a bit much for what you get, it's not a criticism of anybody I know it's hard to get people to do anything but there's no content in it and it's one area I feel could be looked at. Just a personal opinion and I'll probably still buy it as a help to the club but others won't and may feel they're being conned.

believe me they are cutting costs ... We had the front cover colour at the start of the season but its all black and white now.. You would have to ask the editor for his reasons for doing it..
