Young crowd man. By and large they were ok. Whatever about the 'Where's your famous Section O?' chant I thought the follow up line/verse/stanza/whatever to it was a bit petty and needless alright. I sang worse in my teens though.

15 or so? Uh... they mentioned you lot too. :)

I heard the first part of their chant .. I didnt quite catch the rest of what they said. What did they say??

Excluding Dublin City attendances, and one about 10/15 years back midweek between Galway-Cork where the attendance was 52 or something

There was 47 at a game last year, or maybe it was the year before that. Think it was a Monaghan game as well but not sure.

They referred to Section O as practitioners of self-love. If a little more crudely...

Interesting reading from those figures.Crowds slightly up despite the recession etc.Although thats because clubs have dropped prices dramatically too.Hopefully we have a good summer weather wise and crowd average will improve further.

Shame your "interesting reading" didn't extend to the whole thread. ;) It's been shown that we're a good bit down on this time last year. Tempted to put a "YTD this time last year" in the update each time, though I also think I ultimately couldn't be arsed.

hopefully we can keep it up but our crowds dropped (well in the 1st anyway) between may and september.
I think floodlight games are a crowd puller. creates a better atmosphere and a better game imo

Crap match, Limericks goal was a cracker but most were more interested in the side show of the antics of freddie the fox and leo the lion :D

1500 would have beem my estimate, because the new stand was around 2/3 full (around 850), old stand had between our crew and the Pats lads there was around 450, and then you had about 150 dotted around the ground.

what was also the general consensus was that the supporters entering the ground werent even counted and just waved in as they chatted to others ! Cant see how they get an official count done when acting like that ?

I'd have said about 2000 in Drogheda last night. The West Terrace looked pretty much full (at least the part under the roof) and must hold about 1000 (?) and there were decent crowds in the main stand and the away terrace.

But I never guess attendances so I'm open to correction. :)

Good crowd for us. I guess the nice weather and Bank Holiday weekend helped. Disagree about the match being crap. Could have and should have won it. We had more chances in that match than the shels one.

Did the fact Leinster v Munster taking place so soon afterwards etc etc have any effect or would it have been same regardless?

Yes Stan over on our website said attendance including season ticket holders was 450 which is still terrible. I don't think the Munster v Leinster game would have affected attendance as our game was over at 10 to 5 so I had time to go home, have a quick bite to eat and drove down to the pub in time for kick off in that game. We are playing some nice football this season and deserve a bigger support.

Rovers v Bray[/B]

It sold out again so I presume you count it as a full house?

I wonder does anyone take an actual attendance figure? I'd be interested to see it, obviously with 2,000 season ticket holders a certain % will be missing each week. I'd imagine I was one of the few to miss the Pat's match, while for someone like Bray a few more might be missing (having said that I was a bit late getting there and the stewards directed me into the turnstiles at the family end and it seemed pretty full, I'll have to have a look at MNS to see what it was really like, it's a very hard stand to judge the crowd from).

I've counted them all as 3500, bar one which was put in as 3000. The reason is buried in the thread somewhere. Don't see any other option really, unless we taken them as 3400 to take account of people not turning up.

Yes right beside the away support is rarely full to capacity however up the other (singing) end is always overfull with people standing on the stairs and walkways and crowded into the seating. Also plenty of people now stand behind the goal down that end.
