I would have thought 3500 max in Tallaght last night, Yea the westend stand was pretty full (The parts that they were allowed to open) the east end stand was sparse in a lot of places and with one of the worst travelling support I have seen from Dundalk all season.

I would doubt it was anywhere near 4500 though

The West Stand is split 70-30 home support, the East Stand is 100% home support.

We'll give you a map of Tallaght Stadium next time so you can figure out which end is which. ;)

Was at least 4,000 - and thats conservative. 4,500 would be my guess. Ultras stand was nearly 2 to a seat with people squashed in and on aisles. The two ends of it were closed for H&S issue. Main stand was around 3/4 full I'd say, thought Dundalk would have brought more.

Are there two per seat ticketing arrangements in place in Tallaght sponsored by a dating agency?
Main stand was half empty according to your own MB, 3,000 capacity x 50%. New stand,1,500 seats available. Allowing for tight cheeked double occupancy of some seats and acknowledged breaches of SDCC`s Health and Safety requirements and stadium regulations by occupying the aisles, say an extra 500.? That adds up to 3,500 max, consistent with what the Dundalk poster reported above. Great crowd all the same.

Athlone Town vs Sporting Fingal Official attendance 327

About 15 Fingal fans travelled

It is well down on our previous games but we had community games, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and a former local (Tom Silke) players wedding which took a lot of the regular support away.

Curious to know why that is, Dundalk fans? You usually bring good numbers wherever you go, and Tallaght is pretty handy to get to in fairness.

Maybe it was the rail line collapsing?:p

We had nothing to do with that. We brought a huge crowd down to Dalymount on Tuesday, I'd guess two away games in less than a week had something to do with the fall off in numbers.

Not that I'm aware of.

Actually, common consensus on our forum was in the region of 4,300 to 4,500.

We had the guts of 200 at that game last night and still made some amount of noise in that ground the whole game long! Dont think we took as much to Cork so technically not our worst! We had far more at that game last night than we had earlier on in the season in Tallaght!

Buller. I think it would be fair to say that theres a decent attempt by Rovers spokespersons to "big up" crowds for inclusion in pieces by gullible sports reporters and the (always reliable) business colour piece writers. The addition of 600 phantom seats in the main stand and the inclusion of season ticket holders in attendances, (that don`t attend), is part of that. I have no problem with any of that if its directed at the national media. Don`t expect posters on here who look for evidence of tens and hundreds in crowds, rather than thousands, to suck up the same PR spin.

So if the main stand was three quarters full that makes 2,250 plus 1,500 in new stand ( a number which Rennie referred to in his commentary) this leaves 250 to 750 plus triple-cheek seat occupiers and aisle standers , yep thats clear now:confused:

No way 200 aways fans, about 100-150 MAX

In our defense, we would have had one more if migdit didn't get locked up!

About 4,500 in Tallaght tonight I'd estimate, and the new stand makes a fantastic amount of noise.

Having seen pictures of the two stands I'd revise this down a bit, I was in the main stand and it wasn't as full as I though, probably still around the 4,000 mark though, maybe a shade under.

Season ticket holders are not included in the attendances posted by Rovers fans in this thread. They are included in the number of tickets that can be sold for a match (obviously). There are 3048 seats in Tallaght's main stand, we have approx 2000 season tickets. Logic dictates that means there are only another 1048 spaces available in the stadium. Now what Rovers have been doing up to now is assuming a certain percentage of season tickets are not going to turn up on the night and selling additional tickets accordingly. In reality what has been happening is Rovers have been selling 1500 tickets per match in addition to the number of season tickets. This is where the "phantom" seats are coming from. 2000 season tickets + 1500 per match tickets = 3500. Anyway this will no longer be an issue now we have the space.

As for the attendance last night I'd say 2000 in main stand and 1700 in new stand. About 3700 is my guess.

Isn`t there a section of seats kept as a barrier between away fans and home fans, was that included in the overall 1048 figure?

I don't know, all I know is they were selling more tickets than the number of seats in the main stand to make up for the season ticket holders that don't show up on the night.

As posted above 4212 is the official attendance in Tallaght on Saturday.

Way way more than that.
The new stand was about 80% full so that would be about 1200-1300.
Then around another 3-400 in the Jinks between Rovers and Bohs fans.
And then around another 100 between the Railway End and the Shed End.
So a conservative estimate for me on the night would be 1600 but more likely around 1800.

I'm not sure if we automatically include season tickets that don't show up though - someone else can confirm.

A group of fans were organising a 'leave your season ticket at home' initiative for the game which would have helped inflate the ticket sales, but I'd be very impressed if it had had that sort of impact.
