There might about just ahve been 1500 at oriel tonight, very poor Bray crowd down, 20-30 of them! Think they had 3 times that at the Cup replay last season!

I wasnt at last nights game but I heard from 3 different sources there was just over 2,000 at it and probably 300 or so more than Sligo, which would suggest 1,700 at that game last friday.

Hard to believe our crowds are not dropping with the poor results pre last night.

How in the name of goodness can Galway United go on in the Premier Division with gates like this??

That's shocking!!

Hopefully forever. We have a very small wage budget aswell, lowest in Premier i'd say

Galway posters here have omitted to mention that the last open air concert of the Volvo Ocean Race was on at the same time as the United/Drogheda match.

Next Friday nights game in Terryland could have our smallest crowd ever for a LOI game. The Stunning are playing in the Docks closing down the VOR .Absolute madness that we are even trying to compete with it and we dont have another home game for nearly a month

Already mentioned. Still for a city of galway's size it's pretty poor.

I can promise you that Drogheda utd have the lowest wage bill in the leauge , and there was about 100 drogs at the game which makes the crowd look even worse .Its a real pity considering the potential and set up you have :(:(

No way was there 100 drogs. There was just about 100 in that stand when you add in our fans. 65/70 at best

Slightly off topic, I was amused to note one of the most monied sports in the world resorting to the same technique as some LOI clubs:

The vast expanses of green sheeting that covered the empty grandstands around the Istanbul Park circuit on Sunday symbolised the disease attacking the world of formula one as the era of Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone draws, with agonising and hugely destructive slowness, to its close. Those who watched the Turkish grand prix on television might be interested to learn that the people in charge of the transmission were instructed to focus their cameras tightly on the cars in order to disguise the paltry attendance.

Just one more thing, it's always disappointing in this cup when we are outnumbered in the stands by a poxy junior side, **** all Reds there last night. Roll on the summer break.....

Well they mostly werent in Crumlin colours so its hard to say but i doubt they outnumbered us. Based on the celebrations when their goal went in I would go with 300+.

Why was it such a small crowd? considering Cork have had some massive gates in the league of late.

The crowds usually only come out down here if we are winning. Like it's a disgrace only 1,800 people turned up ,on a nice evening for football and nothing else on in Cork thats clashing with it,so there was no excuses for people to come out and support their local team . Fairplay to the Sligo supporters who made the trip down.

The best supported team in the Country only gets a crowd like this for a good draw in the first round of the cup???????????WTF (like!)?

Shocking like, the only full time professional sports team down here .When we were in the fai cup final in 2007, there was like 12,000 supporters traveled up to the rds for the game, where are the vast majority of them now? It seems people only jump on the bandwagan when city are winning,a whole lot easer then like.

Cork are not the best supported team in the country.

They haven't been so for a couple of years.

1. We've had 4 home games in a row, people dont have the money.
2. We're playing absolute ****e and it's a chore to watch
3. It was Sligo. No offense, but it's just not a big draw.
