Twice by John83. Looking at an overall league "average" of about 1100 this season I'd say, versus 1221 last year. (I say "average" to take into account the usual problems with this thread)

I was just talking about the Premier. I don't look at first division.

I suppose we have a smaller Premier division which will bring numbers down...

But a club with higher attendances came up while a couple of clubs will smaller attendances went down so all other things being equal the average should increase this year.

Yeah, the Premier may show an increase - though I haven't run the numbers - because UCD, Cobh and Harps (3 small crowds) were replaced by Dundalk, who've had big numbers so far. It's a bad comparison though. Overall figures are down - and down by a lot.

Thanks CS, we look forward to extending a similar warm welcome to you boys during the summer, heard dcfc fans looked after our lads very well pre match - top class.

I'd guess that the premier average will be up this year: Rovers are in Tallaght and will get decent crowds for the first season in memory, Dundalk are up. In fact, every team in the premier - perhaps with the exception of Bray - is capable of getting 2k+ regularly: most importantly, UCD are down.......

Well TBF we're not used to getting that size of an away support, but Dundalk have always brought a big support up since our first meeting in '87.

I'd hazard a guess at 1,750 for Bohs-Bray tonight. 150ish Bray fans.

Why the sudden rise? I presume Waterford didn't bring a huge crowd with them!

any time we get a decent crowd we **** it up  every adult is entitled to bring in an under 12 for free on a normal week, so this week our cpo reversed the idea of every free child brings a paying adult. handed out a load of freebies in schools and hea presto. if only we had a facility worth bringing them too. On a lighter note the atmostphere in the shed was electric.
two nil down (dubious pen and a blatent offside) plus we were cak, singling the whole way tru.

There was c.850 at Tolka last night. I can't rememeber the exact attendance. No sign of it on shelsweb either.

How come we don't appear to get estimates from Drogheda's games. There were no estimates for their home games against Galway and Sligo.

As far as I know the club went around to schools in Limerick promoting the game all week.

About 20-30 Waterford fans at the most. Brilliant atmosphere. Pity the ref ruined the game.

Yeah the usual 30 or so travelled which surprised me as I thought more would make the trip.
People possibly afraid of what might have happened scoreline wise due to the amount on injuries the team are carrying. We have signed up some of the Under 17s team as cover and one of them Kevin Hunt beat Robbie Bensons record of the youngest ever Athlone town player when coming on as a sub last night. He was born 5/12/92.
This record might not last past the next month if we end up with anymore injuries but having seen the Under 17s playing I personally have no worries on this.

Wouldn`t have thought there was anything near 1,000 empty seats in the jODI.
It looked like the same crowd as the Cork game (2,000-2,100) , similar number of away fans too.
Did the Pats fans with "home" tickets for SDCC`s Municipal Sports Arena last night have any probs getting to the Pats end?

I sat with the Bray fans in the first half, that side of the ground was quite empty alright but you'd know the ground better than me.

And I couldn't get a ticket for the Tallaght stand so I don't know...

(1) Befriend a Rovers season ticket holder who might be able to get you a ticket
(2) Get a ticket for the almost sold out game against Bray on friday night. there may be tickets on sale for the bozo's game inside the ground
(3) keep an eye on the bohs forum for tickets on sale to members(150 max)
(4) watch it on the idiot box

Young crowd man. By and large they were ok. Whatever about the 'Where's your famous Section O?' chant I thought the follow up line/verse/stanza/whatever to it was a bit petty and needless alright. I sang worse in my teens though.

15 or so? Uh... they mentioned you lot too. :)
