Best option for Shels maybe. but you have to respect the league as well. it should only be a last resort to pull a junior team out halfway through a season. it's only 2 or 3 players who are causing trouble. ban them and the problem is solved. everyone knows who they are. shels owe it to themselves to get rid of them

The LDMC have to do something quick about it.I cant understand why Shels arent doing anything about it especially when they know who's causing the trouble. The club is only getting a bad name whether they know that or not and these two or three players arent bread and born Shelbourne either so its all the one to them whether the club is thrown out or not.

Best option i think is to pull the A team out of the league.I think alot of other clubs in 1B would feel the same.

If you pull Shels out of Div 1B the players will just move on and start it all over again with another club, hence moving the problem rather than solving it (as has already happened when they left Distillery)

The players need to be banned for the rest of the season and then a longer ban each time they commit an offence...............that way they will either cop themselves on and stop the poor behaviuor or else they'll be banned for a long period and wont be able to commit any additional offences.......

so he's like the rest of the Caherdavin forwards........toothless:D:D:D
Well they've a centre forward on der bench who'd get on most prem teams.Maybe not ye but yeve special forwards. And ralph judge was offered a repair job on his teeth or a secret caherdavin serum.un fortunately he took d serum.

Put it this way.Id say nearly every club in the city knows who these individuals are so they're not gonna sign these players unless they want to end up getting a bad name for their club. One of these players got a 2 year ban and still got to play this season. What's the point in banning a player if the rule doesnt stand....

Exactly. It's the clubs responsibility. Not any one individual. Shelbourne need to answer these questions and do something about it.
Would it happen at Pike, Fairview, Balla or Boro?? Not a hope.

You wouldnt be signed in the first place if you were known for causing trouble.
I dont even know how the REF's are turning up for their fixtures.

Well Pike B love the new logo/crest<<<<<<>>>>>>>
Knockainey lost their manager before the match on sunday (he resigned not died) so it was all a bit up in the air Sunday. It was a pity to loose him as he put a lot of very hard work into the squad he had but we are finding it very hard to put out our best 11 n a Sunday morning. We lost 5 first team players to Australia, Lads are not training, going out on a Saturday evening etc etc etc......things have chainged a lot in a couple of short years......:(

Sorry to hear that Knockmad...we played ye in cup final last year and ye had a very good team out...we had it tough last week when missing 5 of first 11 but cant imagine what it would do to club if the Recession took 5 of them away to Oz...

Best of luck with rest of season..apart from Sunday when we play ye..!!! Will that pitch honestly be playable !!

Alan,

Get your facts right first.. The players involved in all this coruption were never playing with Distillery in actual fact they all came in from Lisnagry.. Its only 2 or 3 players who are causing all this sh*t on the pitch.. I know there manager and he is a decent bloke..

ya you're right there in fairness. it's not the former distillery lads causing it. it's one former lisnagry player in particular and in my opinion he shouldn't be allowed on a football pitch. the man is a danger to players and referees, he's even a danger to his own players

I was told tonight by a Shels player they are all sick and tired of a few individuals and something is gonna give soon. There are some very decent lads playing football out there, not to mention some fine footballers. With the right attitude and organisation they'd beat anyone in the division, on their day.

look they have no-one else to blame but themselves for signing these players. the manager is a sound bloke, actually it's a very well run club and has been for years, but tough decisions need to be made now before it gets out of hand. isn't there some rule that if you have a certain amount of games abandoned in one season you are thrown out of the leagues and cups? i could be wrong there though

da bishop
05/03/2009, 11:13 PM
did this manager not sign these players,he might be a sound bloke but surely the buck stops with him,is he not the one picking the team every week, why are the same trouble makers being picked and why is this one player in particular still being allowed to play by both club and LDMC if he is constantly in trouble.

Sorry, Lisnagry then...............either way, All I'm saying is that in order for Shels to go forward as a club they need to get those players out the door...........simple as.

The problem is, that if these players are free to play with whoever they like after Shels, then the problems will start all over again (passing the buck if you like) hence the reason I say they should be banned from playing...........end of.

I know quiet a few Shels players (past and present) and everyone of them that Ive spoken to are sick to death of these guys causing problems for the club, hence some of their players leaving for new clubs last season.

this season alone they have

intimidated refs verbally one ref was told if he took the card out of his pocket that he'd be done another game saw a ref been struck with a ball of mud by a player who went on to insult him
physically attacked players from opposition clubs cals got the worst of it and there last 2 games were abandoned
will i go on

there not that bad tho;)

a free from karl meehanin injury time won it.caherdavin finished very strongly on a mud bath of a pitch, looks like the greenhills may be out of action for a couple of weeks after this match

How this game was left go ahead is beyond me - the pitch was in dire straights, ruined what could have been a good game and turned it into a smash and grab affair.

Caherdavin went in front in the first minute but Fairview equalised shortly after-Fairview should have added a few more goals but a combination of bad finishing and excellent goalkeeping cost em in the end.

Agree with all the above but i do think Caherdavins fittness told in the end at which stage Fairview should have been ahead but misssed chances cost them particularly one where all he had to do was put the ball into an open goals but he missed it completely. Caherdavin could be an outside bet for a top two finish

Agreed. First of all hats off to both teams for trying to play football in an absolute mud bath should never have went ahead. It was like having a penalty shootout could have went either way. View will have to start taking there chances or will slide down the league fairly quickly ,that's the second game in a row where they should have got something out of the game but have been punished and cruely today with Karl Meehan scoring the winner with a free kick which was last kick of the game.
Well done to Caherdavin and best of luck for the rest of the season. The league is wide open again .

Yep Fairview have thrown away 6 points in the last few week due to there inability to take there chances - if it does not change soon there chances of winning the league and promotion will be gone.
