Have never had any issues with lads being booked or even sent off (in some cases) for getting stuck in. God knows, given my ability (or lack of) it was the getting stuck in bit that got me a game most weeks. However, head-butting other players or personally threatening the referee is not on. If a team were top of the premier or being hammered week in week out in Division 4b, it wouldn't change my opinion on thuggery on the pitch. The referee's and the LDMC can't stand by and let people perform acts of assault on a pitch under the guise of playing ball.

Now with that off my chest, Munster to play the All- Blacks every 3 years!!!!!
i'll give you an example of what infuriates me about referees. we played carew park (premier) last year in the FAI. the match was on in Rathbane, the ref was a "Premier" ref. match was 0-0 coming towards half-time, you could see carew getting more and more frustrated at not being able to break us down. our centre half was having a particularly good game marking the carew centre forward. at one stage there was a 50/50 tackle which our centre half won against the carew centre forward. carew player didn't like being tackled, he turned around, in front of the ref, and punched our centre half straight into the face. both players starting wrestling each other on the ground. what did the ref do? he booked our centre half and gave carew park a free-kick. this absolutely enraged our management team as you'd expect, who shouted at the ref. he blatantly ignored the fact that the carew player punched our player. he also gave carew 2 penalties in the second half. we gave up in the 2nd half (playing against 12 men including the ref) and ended up losing 6-1. the ref was afraid to send off any carew player and laughed at us for questioning his decisions. a "Premier" ref? you're avin a laugh

Come on now.Surely any ref,in any place in town would send a player off for striking an opponent.Did ye report him?

the ref in question is from southill if i'm not mistaken. he was havin great banter with the carew lads before the game even started (and during it). we knew before even going out onto the pitch that he'd give us nothing, especially in rathbane with all their supporters watching. don't get me wrong i've nothing against carew park, but it was an absolute disgrace that morning and the ref was unbelievably biased. we didn't bother reporting him, it was a meaningless match for us. if it had've been a league game then definitely we would've reported him

Well yeah. I've not seen Murroe yet and am going on their form, but having seen Fairview last Sunday, I think they are solid enough but only about 4th or 5th best team in the league. I don't see either side going up to be honest.

i've seen fairview once and they looked good. haven't seen murroe but the caherdavin lads said they were a decent side, strong at the back. they've conceded the fewest goals in the division too i think. hard to say who's gonna go up. what about ye pike B, do ye fancy yere chances?

To be honest about it, no. We are about 3 or 4 players short of being a top team in this league, but we should hold our own in the division. If I had to call it I'd say we'll finish between 7th and 10th. But if we get a few new signings who knows, we could go on a run.

Fairview 3 0 Murroe Purely because that bubble wont be long bursting. Played both last year seen both this year Fairview by far the better side.

Park 3 2 Cals Looking to push on will be a close game Park could do with a clean sheet but I can't see them keeping Cals out unfortunately.

Holcross 0 5 Caherdavin

Both teams look to be part of a group of 4/5 that are gonna pull away from the rest so both must be in with a great shout - Fairview only conceeded 5 goals in 7 matches - if they maintain that for the rest of the season i couldnt see them out of the top 3.There problem could be at the other end though as they are not prolific either.Sundays game will tell a tale.

With the weather been the worst this year id say,it was a very interesting game.VIEW started straight from the kick off.Pressured MURROE down their right hand side and took the lead with about 20 mins gone. Not long later when Jason Lipper was taken down in the box for a penalty and Seanie Lipper stepped up to put the VIEW 2 up at half time.VIEW went 3 up then after Seanie Lipper scored straight from a corner. The VIEW should have scored at least another 2 after that but the score remained the same til 10 mins to go when MURROE pulled 1 back after a great save from Cossy in goals.A very good result for the VIEW which keeps them right up there with the BORO and MURROE.
