that premier lge is overated some of the lower league teams are as good as them. just cause u play in the premier doesnt make u a premier player. some premier teams are useless and watchin them is like watchin a game of tennis. park play football on the ground probably more enjoyable than all the hooooooooofin in the premier. at the end of the day its amateur an d nobody is getting paid (are they)joke

you are joking ,,, 1b as good as premier no chance big gulf in class will agree premier is overated but still way ahead of 1b
at the moment parks good football has them rock bottom with 1 draw out of 4 games :p wont go down the road of people getting paid

it just doesn't add up why would a player of his quality want to be a player/manager..why not play for a few more years then manage???

a big bonus for park getting davy wall smashing player ...
but would have to agree with the special one ... davy should still be playing at a higher level for a few more years .. plus why sign now when he never had any intrest in signing for park before

wasnt talking bout theleagues i was talking bout some players. just cause u play or played premier football doesnt make u better than someone stayin loyal to a lower division club. 3 or 4 years ago tony fahy was playin wit distillery in 4b and alan barry the same wit abbey in 2b 5or 6 years ago.some premier players think there big shots when there only ordinary

would agree to a certain extent some players do think they are superstars ... but usually the better players do end up in the premeir and a lot of sound lads play premier football as well :ball:

ya some players think they're brilliant coz they play premier. that's whats great about the fai. the so called "smaller" clubs get to show what they can do and more often than not a few upsets happen. i played premier 3 years ago and a 2A side played us off the pitch in the fai and beat us. i even think the word "premier" is wrong. it should just start at 1A, none of this premier sh*ite

Lol...you must have played for a crap Premier team. Over a full season a 1B team would finish bottom of the Premier. No doubt. Just look at the two teams that went up from 1A last season.

Sure every season theres an upset or two in the FAI or MFA but no team in 1A or 1B would survive over a full season. A one off match is exactly that. Once off. Its a cup final for lower division teams and they have nothing to lose.

What doesnt add up is why they would bring a manager in, pay him and then get rid of him for a player who probably hasnt any experience looking after a team.

If this is true then Park have made a huge mistake. Surely they would have been better off with Finnan in charge and Dave Wall playing? Unless the players there didnt want him of course.

i follow junior soccer in limerick a lot and i've refereed a few matches in all divisions. ok over a full season u need dedication and good organisation, but that all comes with experience at playing at the top level. i saw athlunkard v hospital in 2A this morning, excellent game, both teams played great stuff. on their day they'd be a match for most premier teams but ok i accept that over a full season in premier they might struggle

Any results to todays matches lads? Knockainey won 2 1 against Pike B tough game Pike were up for the game in the second half and gave a good account of themselves in that half.

I see abit what you're saying but it is very early.ive seen games in every division we've mentioned and some teams at the start of the league look great and knock it around great and people are saying after 6-7games,this team is away with the league and then fall away. Its junior soccer, not the premiership, its more about hard work and dedication as you said, with a few good players thrown in.If the best player in town isnt interested in a game he should be out.

what we do without soccer though, especially in limerick! great debates and a good standard in fairness. refs could be a bit better but that'll never change. what annoys me though is the big-headedness of some premier players. honestly i can't see how certain players even play in the premier. lot of teams are carryin players

Park are going to be lucky to stay up this season
Davy is a good player but can he do both I dont
think so.Park has too many young small players.
I heard dukes signed till january .They need to get Eddy Dunne back
and get lockers fulley fit if they want to stay
up this season.

i would agree that park will struggle. i reckon caherdavin will be in around the bottom 4, very poor defense. shels look poor also. cals could be the surprise team in this division

dead right its about commitment. most 1b 2a teams have cracking players who can make the step up.... the prob is theres always a few players in the team who go missing sunday morning. you need players who you know will show up week in week out........ abbey had 10 players this morning and its september. how many will show up in the winter months ????

Park are an excellent proper footballing side. always want to pass the ball not lump it long like some other teams,

there not as physical as other teams and that been costing them but early days yet and most people still think they will be in shake up at the end

Hey Pike B, was that you taking the penalty today, second half, a mile wide of the upright? :D

Knock were missing 5 from their 1st 11 and should be at full strenght from now on. Looks like Boro & Knock to battle it out for the title. Still sticking to my prediction of Knock for 1st spot come seasons end. ;)

I reckon they'll b ok,few young fella's but why are all their good players playing with different teams.Maybe the fact they play on a cabbage patch, have no facilities and people on their committee have been there ages and they've never played premier yet produced some excellent players.Need better trainers and new committee.

Seems like the last 4 or 5 seasons have been 'groundhog season' for the X - each involving a relegation dogfight to the end. looks like same story this time. Still, keeps the fans on the edge of their seats to the last game or two. Who wants a boring mid table position! :D

don`t disagree at all comment wasn`t a dig at any player but at the people runnin the club they didn`t have a manager last year till 1 week before season started and no forms signed either. can`t expect good players to put up with that.

No I didn't take the pen. I was up front, number 10. Had a quiet game unfortunatley, just feeding off scraps but managed to get our goal. We were very poor in the first half, again shipping two soft goals. This is becoming an unhappy knack with us. Giving opposition a head start, but take nothing away from Knockainey, they started stronger and deserved their lead. In the second half we were twice the team that started. We dominated the whole second half, scoring one and missing a penalty aswell. We're not playing badly, but we really have to start taking our chances or it could be a struggle again this season, but after only 4 games nobody is panicking yet...

No no, Dober Junior won the pen, and he didn't dive!!

With 18 games to go it's pure folly to be panicking, at both ends of the table. I see a few people writing Park off and even suggesting relegation!! Madness. I'm certain they will still be in the push for promotion come season's end.

It is madness people writing off park already, the season has only begun, for people to think janesboro are running away with it is crazy, last season park won there first 7 games of the season,we still didnt get promoted so long way to go and at the end of the day that table will be looking different every single week,in are first four games, fairview have been the best team we have played,we played janesboro and murroe off the park, but just lacking in the final 3rd,we got lucky against pike with a free kick late on.time will tell gents.:ball:

Totally agree,he will be an excellent addition to our team, alot of experience and can help us get back on track,if he was player /manager i dont think he would have always played himself, with a player like that we need him as much as we can on the pitch.

He'll really stands out in this division. I am very surprised at this move for him at his age. He could play Premier for at least another 3-5 seasons. After a fairly average season last year by his standards maybe his confidence is down. Anyway, he'll get Park right back into the shake up, no doubt.
