Yeah Glen also had a bad injury and only played a few games last season with Balla "B" but he seems to be back fit now, and signed with us.
Glen broke his leg aswell against shannon.Fine player and a sound bloke.As for all this caherdavin talk,can we end it now.Its only a few games in,they're a young team trying to re-build,we all know the size of the place,they've been in 1b before and got out of it hopefully they can do it again.

Yeah Fahy played two seasons with us. Pa Hall has been back and forth between the two clubs over the years and Keith Doran was with Caherdavin but has been with us for 6 or 7 years now. Thats it really of those still playing.

Alright Larry.....I hear its FAI at the weekend....Herbertstown is it?? That'll be tough. Must try and get out there to support ye. Is Danger O'Connell in goals now that Jimbob is off on the honeymoon....or is he?

Yeah Dave will be in goals this weekend and next for the MFA game. I wont be there myself as I am off to Italy for the captains wedding. :D

These fai and mfa and 2 postponed matches have worked out really well for us.

Most of both squads have played with both clubs either junior or schoolboy, a lot of history too between the clubs:mad:. Going to be some match whenever its on.

They play in 4A,same division as our B'team,i wouldnt underestimate any team especially in cup games.:ball:

Look at Larry Whites Signature and replace San Marino with St Pauls and you will have a fair idea about them. One major piece of advice is to not get in any dispute with the keeper, he is crazy:D

Hes been with us 5 or 6 seasons now I would say so maybe hes before your time at Caherdavin. Played schoolboy the whole way up and a few seasons at Junior with them.

If they have the same team as last season,i personally think ye can take them,we played them last year in round 1 of this cup in jackman,beat us 3-1,the result didnt justify the game at all,are defence fell apart for last 10 minutes of the game,we should of won that night,goodluck to ye,i think ye will win,if they have the same team that we played.:ball:

Yes it will be hard. They play with a sweeper who has bags of pace to get back and cover. Right back is filthy no interest in the ball half the time. Centre back is average. Left back is handy.

They have a big strong center midfielder who is well able to play. Right mid wont pose too much of a problem but the left midfielder is as fast a player as I seen all year.

The two forwards are very clever they know what positions to get into to score.

They beat us 5-1 in Jackman last year on a big wide pitch. They are strong but Coonagh can match them no bother.

It'll be tough but I hope that Coonagh beat them. I didn't like their attitude one bit.

if caherdavin have improved from last year and there playin the same team they drew with last year i believe,there at home too don`t think anyone likes playin down there. why will they struggle so bad.

Hey I'm just kidding pal. Caherdavin are a 1B side, so your entitled to say what you like when you like about them. Personally I don't know a lot about the modern Caherdavin, but I enjoyed many a good game against them in the past, in particular at schoolboy level. They are another club with good history in the city. Whenever I think of Caherdavin I think tough to beat. Or at least that's my opinion of them anyway. As for playing the Dines, Hill Celtic only lost 3-2 to them last week and having played Hill Celtic I'd say that makes Geraldines very beatable. As a 1B team good luck to Caherdavin, and all teams in the division in the FAI.

i play in 1B but i don't wanna reveal what club! under strict orders from the manager!!! this caherdavin debate still rumbles then! they'll survive this season because they've a few new players, new manager and it'll take time to get things right. back in 1A within 3 years i reckon. on their day they can play great football and could trouble any side, especially at the formidable greenhills. nobody wants to see a repeat of last season for them, that was embarrassing, wouldn't like to see it happen to anyone, even corbally!!!

i live near the lee estate so i go and watch the athlunkard games there when i can because they play nice stuff in fairness. i know a few of the lads as well. as for caherdavin, ya i know most of them and would like to see them do well too

If they got a few of the players back,they could go up next season but 1b is a very difficult league to get out of.caherdavin should play all their games away if they want to play ball because the greenhills is the worst pitch round.

there's worse pitches than the greenhills in fairness. they do well there so it's better than nothing. portland park is a terrible pitch

Cals pitch is brutal,grass is about 3 inchs high,it doesn't suit their style of play,they're a young fit team who like to pass it about,common sense would tell you to keep the grass short

Keith Doran played with Caherdavin junior b for 2 or 3 years with shane ryan and won a few cups with them before going on to play under Paul neville for two years i think with shane Ryan and David Reale, Keith was Caherdavins best player at the time
