Agreed but as I said he would be a like-for-like replacement for Emakhu not an upgrade as such. On loan with an option to buy as per reports makes it very low risk.
Keena would be the upgrade but can't see Sligo selling to us. Mind you they won't be getting any add-ons for Kenny now so might be tempted to cash in.
Emakhu has scored one LOI goal, and from what I have seen of him, he was way off starting in the LOI for most teams. I dont think that is a serious opinion

Apparently, 5 Killarney Celtic players, including a goalkeeper and two strikers are joining Kerry, so certainly doesn't seem that local players will need much convincing to come on board.
Throwing names out there - Stephen McCarthy, Wayne Sparling?

Emakhu was your classic Rovers academy stalking horse. Little evidence at u19 LOI level to suggest he was anything other than average, but promoted into first team opportunities to inflate his value. I have to hand it to Rovers, whoever is in charge of their strategy deserves great credit, they manage to create asset value every year in their academy talent.

He was extremely good at U19 level and went by players for fun when he broke into the first team initially. Didn't push on and lost all confidence after missing some big chances for the first team.

Yeah I'd most certainly place Kenny and Keena well ahead of Emakhu. Proven goalscorers at senior level.

Certainly McCarthy has been a consistent performer for many years, so he could definitely have played at a higher level before now. Possibly Sparling, although Celtic also have a Croatian striker called Vrsaljic who's been very prolific since he came to the county.

finishing is a worry alright but i think its something that can be easily ironed out. he has great physical attributes to succeed in the long term. i can see why they punted on him

Emakhu Came on against longford in tallaght in 2021 and he was unbelievable, he's got a chance imo.

Wouldn't agree with that. Talented kid who had his Leaving Cert to distract him last season and lost a bit of confidence after a few chances missed. Was very good the previous year. Very raw of course but was great off the bench, particularly against Dundalk, and obviously scored some very important goals in big games over two seasons. Also not necessarily a striker as he talks about midfield being he's proper position. So it's not crazy to see him get the move. He created his own value.

Cole Omorehiomwan has signed for Bray from Rovers. Only saw him a few times in friendlies etc but he looked useful. Centre half who looks like he can play a bit. Think he scored a few for the academy teams as well.

Harps signed Séamas Keogh, released by Sligo recently….
Good player. Certainly sounded like he decided to leave rather then us releasing him. Never really got enough game time with us and then when it looked like he would after scoring late winner against Derry he got injured. It was said at the time he left as he wanted to get playing again.

Sounds promising for us, should do well in the First division hopefully....

what did u think of him? decision making really hurts him at times (a bit too much tbh) but he is decent and can improve. good signing for waterford was impressed with a few bits of his game this season

Really tidy player but needs to add more goals and assists to his game, surprised he got a move like that so soon.

Totally agree but in fairness to him some of the chances he missed were due to unreal saves. In games where he had space and was able to run at people he looked great but a lot of the games Rovers are involved in the Opo sits back and thats where he struggles still has to add more strings to his bow. Love to see him so well at Milwall. South Stand loved him.

Dean McMenamy signed for Waterford from Longford....
Had a cracking first half of the season for us last year but faded a bit in the second half of the season. Reckon he could flourish in a better team though for sure. Could be a very shrewd signing for Waterford, one I'd definitely have liked to keep.

Chances are its a volunteer being paid nothing so replacing means finding another volunteer.
Whoever it is though is an idiot and shujld be replaces you dont turn social media against 17year olds just because they decide to change club.
The good showing in year 1 back in the premier division has set the bar high for next year, wont be surprised to see them struggle tbh and crowds drop off.

Why would you be worried, a great player and servant to Bohs in his day, great knowledge of the league, an opportunity to attract new players and promote young talent.

Exactly. He's probably what Bohs have been missing for the past while now i.e. someone who knows how to run a competitive football club.
I'd be delighted if I was you.

Cant see Fenlon putting up with all the committee for the liberation of Palistinian and Social democratic workers party envioronmentalist BS from the people there now.
If Fenlon is in id say there will be a few wings clipped and bohs "definition" of success will be back to winning matches rather than furthering social justice for the Comisariat.
Pity really but it was only a question of time i suppose

Waterford announced Junior will be staying on for 2023, no mention of a new contract so confirmation he was previously under contract. With Patterson sold, retaining Junior is big news.

He was only at Celtic 6 months. He wasn't going to be breaking into a team that were flying in the League when he joined. His loan spell hasn't worked out but doesn't mean he's a bad player. It's only a year ago that he was playing great stuff.
Aidan Keena came back from Scotland and had an excellent season at Sligo.

Jesus wept. What a stupid post, but as usual harps rowing in with their shamrock buddies.
That background nonsense as you call it , has connected the club successfully to our local area like never before, the solid social work with mounjoy prison, direct provision trips to game(which btw rovers also successfully do), a yearly supply of a gift at Christmas to children in direct provision centres, local coaching and youth coaching clinics , nights out in the bars here for local oap’s , Irish language and music and literary events etc etc , has grown our fan base from just about 1100 with 350 members to a point where we have over 2500 members and season tickets with a waiting list of nearly 1000, plus more enquiries.
Yes we have slowly built on the playing side, but we will not go broke chasing trophies again they will happen or not within an affordable budget.
From checking it looks like Connor has never played for Wycombe ???

So is nutsy goin to bohs then?
Id guess you'd say he was relatively successful at Linfield (their exit from Europe was a comedy highlight of the year) but a cynic would say he was pushing an open door up there with their unique position in the Irish League.
He's a competent, knowledgeable football guy anyway. Would it have been better offering the DOF position to Keith long tho, or was a clean break needed.
If I was a bohs fan(heaven forbid!) I wouldn't be dusting down me passport just yet, with decky devine in charge, but clearly a change of manager was needed.
The off field stuff at dalymount is commendable and shows that bohs are trying to build a club instead of just a team, but the league is moving on and bohs will need to act relatively quickly to avoid being left behind. The avocado eaters won't stay forever if there is nothing cheery to watch.

Their boy is now back in charge at LH, so that pays for Rogers' Four Year contract and Exotic foreign signings through the Tallaght Fund.

Exactly this myth that the community work, which players and manager are only involved in for standard meet & greets or underage/community training session that every club in the league does, is a distraction is just nonsense. You know what the real distractions for a team are? Not knowing who the captain will be from game to game, freezing out players who will leave at the end of the season in spite of them still having plenty to offer, calling fans with valid grievences a vocal minority, signing almost an entire team of players in the July window and then not using them in favour of players who had already proven they weren't up to it. Signing players on loan or permanently and giving them no opportunity to play before ending their association with the club. All of these things happened on the football side and were the result of football people. I understand not everyone will agree with all of the community work Bohs are doing and that's their right but to believe that it's the community work that is negatively impacting the football work while the football people were creating an environment with no accountability or leadership is ludicrous.
Devine wasn't my first choice for manager but he certainly understands the value of leadership and accountability from what he's been saying and importantly doing in the transfer market. This is something that Fenlon also understands so hopefully the 2 working together will mean that the football side of things will begin generating as many positive headlines for Bohs as the community side of things.

Whatever about Irish lads trying to make it in England, Scotland just seems to be a total disaster. From speaking to some players who've gone across there's definitely an outdated snobbery towards LOI in Scotland when Sligo Rovers showed Motherwell exactly why such attitudes should no longer exist.

I would still love to know where their snobbery comes from. You’d almost think they’ve actually achieved something in football.
