I was expecting a little more than 3k, heard there were ques at Ko, What's the capacity of Richmond these days?
Is this def the official crowd?
I'd say 2,700 was about correct- Rovers took and sold their full allocation bar approx 60 that were sold on the night. As for Pats poor turn out by them only filled their section of the main stand but loads of empty seats behind the goal and terraces
As for the match a real cracker that banished the doom and gloom of midweek- real passionate football played by decent honest footballers supported by loyal committed fans- Pats take note

Wrong, Dundalk attendance against us in the League was 670, there wasn't near as many last night. 400 max from Dundalk.
Saw the goals on RTE news, looked a good atmosphere ok, really looking forward to next Friday night. We had a decent crowd in Tolka last night, but this is will nothing on the numbers planned for Richmond.

To be honest I can't see us bringing much more than the 6/700 we had in Tolka. The fact that it's on TV will mean a few won't bother heading up,especially as its on that little bit earlier.

I would totally disagree, know loads of fans who could only make one of these trips to Dublin on the two fridays in a row, and majority picked the Pats game. I know I have.

And I'm sure there's plenty picked the Shels game seeing as the Pats game is on the box. Either way we'll have a great crowd down, I just can't see it being much more than 700 but sure we'll see on Friday.

Mustn't have been coming from the south then. I hear the elements blow in an extra 100 people a week at Drom and Fahy's Field.

Disappointing to see so many empty seats given that Dundalk fans were denied the opportunity to attend. Poor form.

There was a lot of empty seats noticeable on tv, so not a full-house as expected. Pats finding it hard to get the fans in despite playing a great brand of soccer.

It was never going to be a full house that would have been over 5,000. Probably about 3,600/3,700 there despite the 3,313 figure given.
Dundalk didn't bring the 1,200 they said they sold. About 1,000 of them there so not really sure where this complaint of not having more tickets is coming from.

Bought tickets for the Pats end and managed to nip through behind the TV gantry into the Dundalk end, there was room left in there over in the corner beside the shop/ burgers that smelled like ****e bar and the little terrace beside the corner flag at that end too. PartySaint, how many would you say the away end holds in Richmond? I'd say could have fit another 75/100 behind the goal and same again on the away terrace.
Good crowd there though on the whole, not watched it back on the telly yet to see how it came across but brought a mate whose never been to a loi game and he was quite impressed with the atmosphere and the standard.

Shed holds 800 then probably about 200 in the section in the stand for away fans.

Fairly sure we had an earlier discussion on emty seats in the home end that away fans could've used...

Now settle yourself party. I had a very close sight on the away tickets, and 1,200 were sold, and up to 200 DLK fans paid on elsewhere, like it or not, Dundalk made up to close on half the attendance.
Loving the 'about 1000 of them' comment........give your club a ring on morning and ask how much €€€ was sent down or due to be sent down by Dundalk.
Edit 1,350 sold.

Never denied how many you sold, just how many turned up, fair play for selling so many tickets, the more people at games the better.

I think about 3,800 was the figure given for the league cup final tonight. More Drogs at it than I expected.

The normal away section looked quite full. Is that where the Drogheda fans were?

Roughly around 200 at the town game last night if even that. Far worse attendance than expected but then again when you live in a town called 'little mayo' it's not difficult to see why we aren't getting any support.

Heartening turn-out of Drogs supporters. Semi-final v Dundalk should be rocking.

933 at thomond for Limerick v Shamrock R. Not bad I suppose as midweek games seem to have lower crowds.

About 80-90 rovers fans.
We seem to have stayed around the 850 mark for home support recently. The constant switching of games is a balls though. Our last two home games will be on a Monday and Wednesday night which doesn't help.

I wonder how Athlone plan to deal with segregation in the ground for the bigger games next year. Only one gate in and out of the ground doesnt help.
Are there any plans to add another stand there?
atfconline
28/09/2013, 5:13 PM
There are already unused gates over on the far side of the ground. There is scope to add another shop at the near end of the stand, which we've done on stop-gap measure for the last two home games and there are already toilets at both ends of the stand.

Problem is when ya have the likes of Rovers, Pats and Dundalk etc coming down, if we have 2000 home fans, where are ya going to put the away fans. Cant put them behind the goal for safety reasons (all the stones, rocks etc) so what do ya do there. Id love if we built a little shed behind one of the goals.

Did dundalk not have the Shed without seats when they first got promoted? Could be wrong

There's still no seats there,a nd that's for home fans.
Away fans get the uncovered seats/terrace and occasionally space in the main stand

Fair enough. Presumed there wasn't. Rarely used anyway (just like the away section)
