If this is true then Athlone must of come back in with a counter offer on what Longford did. Where did Roddy get the cash???!!!!!! :D

Probably the same "investors" he had to buy your club :cool:

Enda Curran set to play for Athlone tuesday against Port Vale from what im hearing

His red card at the weekend could hinder any move for him. Just back from suspension, he got a straight red as far as I know. Could be looking at a 3/4 game ban, clubs might not want to sign him if he's automatically ruled out for 1/4+ of their remaining games.

Yeh it could indeed. WE still need a back up striker. Other than Gorman and Coughlan we have no1. Sweeney can play there but he isnt a striker

He could get a big suspension alright. Didn't Willo get a 4 or 5 game ban for a build up of yellows and then a straight red down in Mervue?

Including the automatic suspension incurred, the overall suspension imposed on any player receiving a
direct red card shall be for:
a) at least one match for denying the opposing team a clear goal-scoring opportunity (particularly by
deliberately handling the ball);
b) at least one match for unsporting conduct.
c) at least two matches for serious foul play (particularly in the case of the use of excessive or brute
force);
d) at least three matches for assaulting (deliberately pushing, pulling, striking, butting, elbowing,
punching, kicking etc. Touching is not an assault) an opponent or a person other than a match official;
e) at least six matches for assaulting by spitting at an opponent or a person other than a match official.
f) at least 12 months for assaulting (deliberately pushing, pulling, spitting, striking, butting, elbowing,
punching, kicking etc. Touching is not an assault) a match official.

Anyone know what Curran did? Seen on Twitter he said it was no way a red

Bad tackle apparently. So that'd be serious foul play, at least two matches, possibly more if the FAI feel like it.

He must have some agent..... Having seen Enda play for Mervue, Galway United (the less said about that spell the better) and Salthill, I can honestly say I will eat my own head if he gets a deal off a UK club. He runs around the pitch like a duck, he's not pacey, his work rate leaves a lot to be desired. His finishing is alright. He has a tendency to lose the rag on the pitch and do stupid shít like dive into tackles recklessly or hit out at players. Somebody like David O'Sullivan at Longford would be a much better prospect. I think a career in the LOI is the best Curran can hope for, and I don't think he's above First Division level yet.

He still has to be getting a few quid plus accommodation to justify moving up to Derry, which Im sure is what Brendy was getting at...

Either that or a tongue in cheek remark that he got in before someone else did?

Plays in midfield spent a few years with Derby County and Ayr United. Think he might have been one of the players we were linked with earlier in year along with a striker from Sligo.

Nowhere near good enough for any Premier Division team. Doubt he'd do much in First either.

When he signed we were expected to have this Djilali-like speedy, skilful winger but instead we got a kid who didn't want the ball. He's OK when there's 30 yards of space in front of him but put him under any sort of pressure at all and he doesn't want to know.

Connolly mainly played on the wings for us anytime he got a game but can play CM (which he done in a friendly), He's fit and will battle for ya but dont be expect him to be beating players galore or whiping in great crosses.

Sligo Rovers winger Ryan Connolly will join Longford Town on loan until the end of the season.

Connolly makes the move to the First Division high flyers after a year with the Bit o’ Red, having made 31 appearances.

Colm McLaughlin has also left Rovers by mutual consent. He was previously part of underage teams in The Showgrounds and was a member of the senior squad.

The club wish both players well for the future and thank them for their valued contribution to Rovers.

Sounds a bit like Nkololo. Only promising thing I've heard is that he can play in the middle and get stuck in. Could help fill Salmos void.
