If he's half as orange as his brother you won't need to worry about floodlights next season.

It was 2009 season that Michael Daly played with Dundalk. Then 19, he became a crowd favorite in the middle of the circus that was Sean Connors' squad, Physically strong and full of energy he made a significant impact in that season despite getting far too many cards. His natural position is defensive midfield although he can also play centre back very effectively. Since 2009 he had one season with Drogheda and has been in Australia for the last two years. If he has progressed in the last two years he could make a significant impact on the league this season.
As regards Gary Shanahan - I would suggest that you should not be so dismissive. Last year he improved a lot as the season went on, produced some decent performances and scored a few goals. He is only 18 or 19 years old and could yet develop into a decent player

I've heard differently that he has no problem staying but was having a look at his options but as long as he does stay i don't really mind. We will lose him to ye when he is old enough that ye don't have to pay compensation no surprise him being from Cork and all.

I've heard hes not at all happy in Limerick, and that is why he switched from UL to UCC and would much rather be in Cork.
Will be interesting to see how quickly some Cork fans flip-flop from
"Behan's on mad money at Limerick"
to
"He's here because he loves Cork"

I'm also regularly on the Derry, Shamrock Rovers, and Waterford fora, I've been barred from Pats, can't register for Dundalk or Sligo, think I still have an account with Bohs too but haven't been on there in a while, I also registered for the new Drogs one a while back, but generally only go on there ahead of games against them.
I have a lot of "free time" at work! I apologise to Bray and UCD.

Wouldn't surprise me he is hardly going to say to us that he hates it here when there is a big chance he will be stuck here this season.
As for other teams forums im quite upset i cant get on Corks one always good to see what the other side are thinking coming up to a game, that and id love to see the reaction when/if Behan signs.

Was very impressed with Shannahan when he played against us in the league cup for Dundalk scored 1 if not both goals that night and looked physically strong and quite pacy so I think he could be a very good player.

I always thought Michael Daly was a good player and would be a good signing for most clubs going by the year he was with us. He was only 19 when he was with us, but a real strong midfielder. Very physical player, strong in the air and hard tackler. I wonder did he improve in Australia and what standard of football he was playing at. As already mentioned, he was prone to alot of cards, especially red cards.
Shanahan end up turning into an unlikely cult figure in Oriel last season. Heavily criticised by many at the start of the season as he looked completely out of his depth. But then he started showing he has potential. Can be in and out of games, but the lad gives it all every match and I like to see him doing well.

Griffen signing for Derry at last.
LMFM RADIO @LMFMRADIO
(https://twitter.com/LMFMRADIO)LMFM sport Dundalk striker Mark Griffen is undergoing a medical will sign for @derrycityfc (https://twitter.com/derrycityfc) and joins Michael Rafter at the Brandywell.
Good luck to the two lads in Derry for 2013, both are still young and good potential there. Rafter finally showed good professionalism in the play off games, worked his socks off the 2-2 home draw, especially on his own up front for 60 mins. And his two goals in the away leg was obviously the difference between the sides.
Probably disappointed to see Griffen go, but he didnt have a great 2012. Maybe a change of scene will do him well. Derry must have big hopes for these two guys. I would never have thought the Dundalk strike force of 2012 would have been on anyones radar, but there you go.
Hopefully the compensation fee due for Griffin will allow us to get a replacement in.

Peter Hutton quoted as saying he's been talking to a whole host of players, but they've been asking for ridiculous amounts of money, and we won't be paying out any sort of big money for players.
A fair few trialists in action for Harps tonight too. Couple of decent players linked.

Div 1 is always a tough road but looking even more competitive this year.Good quality signings from the top fiveish and some players looking to keep them selfs on the radar.

Second choice at Harps last year, and by a long way too. Only got a game when Ciaran Gallagher was injured. He's not that great to be honest. A good intermediate level goalkeeper. Bit of potential in him, but he's very light for this level. Could do with bulking up a lot.
Genuinely surprised, but at the same time delighted for him, that he got so far in the win a contract at Swindon/Leyton Orient competition.

A lot of the young keepers in the Academy and Reserves in England are quite light from anything I've seen. They probably have more time to develop their keepers than a LOI team.
