No. Any referee can get a decision wrong. Granted. Referees are human, like you say after all. But when a ref gives 4 to 5 match turning decisions in single 90 mins to the hometown, or his favoured club. Then, by your argument, players are human too and are prone to human reactions like rage and anger when something unjust has happened and there is no fair governing authority. People hit out in all walks of life when things arent fair, why should a football field be any different under these extreme refereeing decisions? Now, Jock, we can agree to differ, because we have different opinions, and thats a human characteristic too. End of. Good decisions dont need to be thought about, they are just made.

Football fan referee's are getting decisions wrong in the English premier league on a weekly basis but they still get to ref every week and for lots of money,we play amateur soccer with amateur referee's and every ref will make mistake's,if a ref though he shouldnt play because he might get a decision wrong then we'd have no ref's.

very true. But I'm Not talking about refs making wrong decisions occasionally, that has to be expected, refs, we will agree are human. But what I'm talking about is blatant, uncontestable and obvious decisions made by a hometown referee in favour of the hometown, made over and over again in the same match. I'm not talking about a situation where refs should be thinking and questioning every move they make, cos they dont need to be doing that if they make the obvious right and correct decisions. we are not talking about ONE decision here...oh never mind, can we change the subject?

was watching that match for 70mins and i have to say while mungret were very good i didn't see anything to suggest that pallas were a dirty team, they did commit afew fouls but no more than any other teams

Seen the match. Need to put some kind of balance in these crazy posts. Referee was a disgrace. Pallas scored twice - once player was clean through on goal, centre half took him down, as forward was goin down, got a toe to the ball and poked it past the keeper. Ref blew, hesitated...centre forward said "ref if its not a goal, then its a sending off!", ref gave free out to charleville!!

Same scenario in 2nd half. same centre half pulled down the same player when he was through on goal, right on the 18 yard line....centre half stood up and held up his hands admitting liability, ref gave him a yellow!! Is that not a red card offence??

Or what about the free kick that was scored by Pallas from about 10 yards outside the box on the right hand side? Player stuck it without anyone gettin a touch on it, ref disallowed it and said it was indirect!! This when Charleville had formed a wall!! Why form a wall if the kick is indirect from a crossing position??

That player got injured but it was from the melee that the Charleville No 6 (Brian Fitzgibbon) started by punching the Pallas left back in the mouth. There was a bit of handbags then trying to break up the row when Charleville no 10 waded in and clocked one of the centre halves...then all hell broke loose...and the no 10 was the guy that ended up going to hospital. The whole charleville line ran in, then the pallas subs. There was about 25 charleville people against 15 pallas.A complete melee. I thought they were going to get massacerd because of sheer numbers...but two charleville guys got knocked out somehow despite the numbers, then the fight subsided. I hope that no 10 is allright, but from what I seen, dont start a war if you didnt bring your guns!
Up Kilfinane!
why did the charleville no. 6 punch the pallas guy? and is it true the charleville manager got punched? i must say that if what you are saying about the ref is true then i think it would be incredibly difficult not to react in some way if those decisions were made. but in saying that, i have seen pallas before and they are a dirty team, especially when things go wrong. i have no idea about charleville. haven't played against them in years so maybe you could enlighten me...

I agree with Dines08, we should drop this before it gets dirty and the thread is closed.
Let both teams report each other if they wish to the LDMC, and let them take care of it, now lets move on!!!!

Any fixtures in the league for the weekend?

I think that Hill Celtic match is on again this week out in Shannon, there pitch the weekend was bad but I have played on worse and considering we had a full team for the first time this season we were reallly up for it and Shannon seemed to have a few sick heads and were happier than we were with the game being called off...........anyway, Hill Celtic to cause alot of upsets from here on in. :p

saying that their fixtures might even out before the last 3 or 4 games if not it could prove tough if they've to travel out the country to the poorer pitches...im sure they wont complain..played 3 won 3.

Thank you for first part, nice to hear positives but i have been given alot of good advice from all referees since i have been part of the branch and have great respect for all of them.

Jock MIB
I dont know who you, are but do yourself a favour, and get off these sites before you write something that bites you in the ass.
I truly believe that this is good advice for you.
If you have a good game, enjoy the feeling.
If you have a bad game, get over it,and learn from it.

Yea they would be talking out there backside but you can see what i'm getting at!! a refs decision is final be it right or wrong he dont need to be on here talking about his and other refs decisions, well thats my take on it i'm gonna leave it at that

dines08
12/10/2008, 1:30 AM
at the end of the day every single ref in limerick or anywhere else can read wats written on this site...people just have to watch wat they say in certain circumstances. And personally i'd like to think all refs would have more integrity than to let anythin said on here about them sway future decisions altho i'd have my doubts if thats possible wit certain things written...refs posting on here could work if they defend decisions made which they believe they got right or to acknowledge one or two they got wrong without personal attacks on them or from them

Dines 1-1 Summerville...fair result, summerville could of been 3or4 up at half time we were awful first half...second half was complete opposite, sensational goal from a christy o neill free kick and were far the better team. Could of nicked it...not a bad result, we were missing 7...Summerville are a good side, very pacey

I dont think the second half was completely the opposite, ville still had 3 one-on -ones in the second half and the dines only shot on target all game was the free kick, which was a beauty. Good game and it was refereed excellently. Two young sides who will be close to the top but maybe too much to ask to get promoted this season.

Ye could have nicked it in the end alright. Both teams lacked a bit attacking.

my first time watching the ville this season, a shadow of last years team but they played well, very eager, and best of luck to them for the rest of the season. Bring back Mona!
