Heard ye have a new manager for the coming season (James Carrig), from what i saw of him last year he is a tough task master who doesn't accept second best, this i think will push ye up there big time in the league next season. Has Johnny Markham joined James as coach for the season?? Would be a great addition also to ye.

id say prospect could be dark horses!!them along with the annual mungret bandwagon.. only for it to fall off the track again.only slaggin now mungret boys... i hope mungret get it right anyway this season, hopefully now they'l get back pre season qiuet early and be ready at the start of the season, cos the past few seasons they've faltered early!!any mungret players pm me about pre season training, would consider playing for a season or 2!
not sure yet what way star will be so cant judge, but from the rest think mungret, cappamore, the dines, balla, and croom will be the dominent teams, think cappamore to win the league

I dont know about johnny joining to be honest..we have a trainer as it is in Darren Keane so i dont know how it is going to work...Johnny was with us before so he knows the club....but all i know is that we need a manager and we need a kick in the a*s so hopefully we get that and maybe a few players and we might push on from last year.

Have Cappamore signed some players?? they were lucky to stay up this season!!
Star's hopes really depend on who is appointed manager, and up to last weekend nobody had been (although a lot were approached, not naming any names).
Mungret will be there or there abouts, as they are every year (just need to be consistant for the season).
I hear the Dines will have a better squad this coming season than the season just gone, but have lost their keeper (really need a relaible keeper for the coming season).
Balla will finish in the top 4/5 but not promotion,
Croom will be the same as Balla but could push for promotion if they sign a few decent players and keep what they had last season.
Granville or Summerville (whoever get relegated on Sunday) will also be strong,
But all in all I think it will be a very strong league next season with any team capable of beating anyone else.
Roll on the start of the season......................I'll give my prediction at the start of August, when we know who has signed with who....

no matter wat keeper we get i donŽt think heŽll be as good as ger barron...best keeper in limerick by a mile...as far as i know weŽre not losing any other players from last season but hopefully makin one or two experienced additions

fully aware of that, the player in question asked for and got a transfer mid way thru last season but tore up the form at the last minute...iŽm confident heŽll stay, all players from last season should stay because thereŽs a real belief we can go up this year, we need to add experience and thereŽs plenty of former dines players around that would be intereted in coming back to the current set up...darren walsh returned last year but broke his leg third game, he was a big loss...
was talking to the player last week and he isn't sure what he'll do next season,he really likes it below and also believes ye can push for promotion, personally i think he'll stay with the Dines

It will depend who takes over TBH, no idea what type of squad they'll have until they go back training Tuesday evening.
Tats a bit harsh...but u make a good point... :)
this forum is barely a week old and already its turnin into a star rover's- gerldines site.. Give us all a break alan wil ya! Id be worried anyway if the above mentioned players were talkin about joining my club.. I mean look at their track record.. Abbey.. Relegated and then star.. Relegated.. But they can talk the talk though:) you'd bloody swear they were decent players.
thats been mentioned a few times, not the kind of lads you want when things are goin against you

Listen pal, I was asked a question and I answered it.....
I didnt start the topic of Dines or Star and if you weren't too lazy to go back a check you'd know that. (so your wrong).
As I said above not all the players mentioned above played with Abbey, (so your wrong there as well).
We're not all medal hunters either and would rather play footy on a Sunday than sit on the bench (if you know what I mean!!!!!).
P.S
If you have anything else to say to me, then you can PM me, and we'll sort it out.

I spent 18 years with Geraldines (bar a few months with View) and needed a change, so I signed with Abbey (via Pike B, with whom I spent 2 months with, which was a shambles) as the manager of Abbey at the time (Walla) asked me to.
He then stepped down as manager of Abbey at the end of that season, and nobody at Abbey had come near most of the players to re-sign, plus they had no new manager installed by the start of August (hence the reason some of us left and signed for Star).
I was approached by Pat Boland and asked to sign for Star, I did, and when I did I gave him my word that as long as he was manager I would stay on and play.
Cant really see an issue with any of the above, but obviously some people do.

man do you ever get tired of over reacting,i was talking about on the pitch,in my time there most of the players mentioned in the earlier post seemed to be more interested in fighting with there own players when things weren't going our way,if you disagree so be it,but bringing up the same ****e as you did last season is getting a bit boring already, and the new season isn't even started
