He was a loss yes, but it allows us to play a young gifted player in Richie Flynn in his favoured position of centre midfield now (he was used wide right when Leonard was with us and just couldn't get into games as much, but now its a different story with him).
As regards players, no, we didnt sign anyone new in January, we are just getting more of our better players playing week in week out now for some reason, and the team seem to be playing well, as well as having a keeper for every game (which obviously helps)...
That said though we were awful in the first half on Sunday (0-0 @ HT) and had we been playing a better team could have been losing at half time, but we were a completely different team in the second half (after we got the hairdryer treatment from Windy).
All that said, we'll keep plugging away, and see where it gets us, and hopefully come the last 2/3 games we'll be still in with an outside chance of second spot.

any result from balla charleville yet?
any result from balla charleville yet?
balla lost 2-1,
2 soft goals again,Pushed hard for equalizer but to no avail, they didn't seem the fittest but they got stuck in,wouldn't think they'll be in the shake up but i suppose we might have played them when they weren't at there best.
2 good wins for dines and star keeps the pressure on mungret

and they are playing thursday too. i wouldn't mind having a few games like that myself to be honest. If shannon win the first game and have confidence going into the second they could win there too. no reason then why they couldn't make it three wins on the bounce. 9 or even 6 points in the space of a week wouldn't be bad at all.

That is a joke for god sake how can they do that.
Alot of people work evenings away at college family comments etc, its gonna be hard for teams pushing for promotion to get full squads out for the four matchs in 7 days.
and they might even ahve to play 5 games in 9 to 10 day period.

Ye destroyed us earlier in the season in the munster junior 6 nil...signed a few players since. Most of whom are important players for us. In the transfer window we signed christy o neill, leonard o grady, mark healy, bobby horan and shane burns...all very good players that have made us stronger. We've used 5 different goal keepers so far this season. 2 of which were outfield players

Thats what having a big squad is all about..............the only problem for ye will be travelling into town to make the 6.15 kick offs, realistically ye'll have to meet at 5.15pm and leave Shannon no later than 5.30 to have any chance of being on time and to get a half decent warm up done.

well we have a big enough squad to deal with the games assuming we dont pick up to many injuries but the warm ups could be an issue...especially after a few games and you'll need a warm up just to loosen out.

Could ye use any of your B players if needed? Its a bit of a joke asking ye to play 2 midweek games though.

In theory we could im sure and maybe we will have too...but i would hope not...we have a big, strong A squad and will just have to cope with whatever next week brings

only time will tell...i think we're good enough to get promoted but that doesn't mean we will be...it'll be very tough, we're unbeaten since the opening league game and we'll probably have to remain unbeaten to go up
