floodlights will be owned by Star, Astro will be used by community.
I suppose the lights will be used any night the Astro is unavailable and visa versa.

The surrounding "community" being the island field. I think it might need some proper supervision. :D:D:D

i think strugle is a strong word there. i think sumerville will hold there own even if they loose a few. seem to have a good core of a team there.

The 2 promoted teams from 1b last year got promoted from 1a,i dont fancy prospect to do much but croom seem like they could challenge-especially when they play at home-hardly ever lost even wen they played premier teams in the cup....!!
Mungret and star to be promoted dependin on mungrets start, they let themselves down the last 2 seasons because of the first 6 matches. a good start needed....!!!
Just putting in my view on it...It could be totally bias but i have to put my own team at the top :D
Croom could be stronger than i predict but i am basing them on when we played them 2 years ago!
Prospect could also finish higher than predicted but they are only predictions at the moment..When players have signed forms and a few games in i may change..We wil have to see..Good luck to all teams and management!! :o:ball:

To be brutally honest mulla i don't know..We have a new manager installed(former B team manager) and i think there was a players meeting today to see what is planned.I will wait until nearer august before i go back(if i go back)as it was a long season last year. From what i gather there is still much the same team there..Rumours of cyril maher and his brother leaving but i don't believe any of them....Gorey has retired(thats what he says anyway)..Also rumours of our keeper going to fairview b!We wil see how things pan out over the coming weeks as so many things change in the run up to the start of the league..You looking for a friendly mulla or razbar...pm me!

Never said I didn't rate him. Very good passer of the ball in fairness, but to say he's Mungret's playmaker implies that he has been a regular for the past few seasons. The truth is he's only played 8-9 matches in each of the last 2 seasons because he's one of those guys that just seems to come and go throughout the season.

Well if the dines can get a full season out of him and he turns up for most of there games he might be the one that turns there season around from last year..Him and a few other signings they have in the pipeline...He's fond of the jar as well i hear though?

The maher's have signed for fair view, dunno wat the story with cosy is,as far as i know he's fallen out with the manager, and is not keen on playing for him next year, also o sullivan isn't signing, and with you and gorey gone too, thats six of eleven starter's last season,so looks like ye wil struggle.
Ah thats only all if's and buts at the moment...From what i have been told the 2 mahers will be with us again this year, and as for cossy well he hasn't been the same keeper since we got promoted last year..If he can get that form back and signs again i am pretty sure we will be back up in the premier in no time.As for Daz,Well no one knows what daz will do..Not even himself :)..Top bloke but mad as a brush!!!
Gorey has retired (well thats what he is saying) but with a few prem clums looking for him you would never know..As for me i dunno what i'l do....Spectator for the season!!!

21/07/2008, 3:30 PM
Spectator for the season nothing new there then!
Well going on past posts brassballs u know me well...So to say the above you are totally wrong as i was and if i give it another year i will be a starter for every game..I'd definately have to agree i am no great shapes but i must be doing something right to have been in the summerville team for the last 10 years?
Thanks for the welcome Messi...Its been tough i tell you that much. The ould fingers were very twitchy without the odd few posts on foot :)...Have you got it from someone that the players you have mentioned have already signed for other clubs?
svillerovers
21/07/2008, 4:45 PM
Yes i have, the players themselves have told me this.
Oh right..Sure we will see whatthe manager comes up with...Is there fixtures out for the new season or what?Read on one of the other posts that someone had a few premier fixtures already!!!

Why are you not playing next season?
From reading this thread there is a mass exodus of players so the team could do with your "experience"!
Seriously tho, summerville could end up like caherdavin and fall apart completely, so another year wouldnt kill you. Plus i've watched you play, your not as bad as you and other people let on. And your aeriel prowess suits summerville's long ball style. You are not that old!

Thanks for the complements gentlemen..Its not often i get them so i will take them when they are there....Its not a matter of jumping ship ,i need to take a lot of time off work etc for training and matches and well i just can't committ to it as much this year..I might step back and sign a B form and if they need me to play the odd game for the A's i will try make myself available...I hope and dont think they will fall apart like caherdavin as there is a good man at the helm but we will have to see what happens and who signs what!!
Also owngoal with the new manager involved he mightn't avert to the long ball style of play...he might try and change it to a passing game and i am goosed then...1st touch of a rapist!! and the 2nd touch ain't far behind :D
Any ould friendlies happening lately??
