Far side is open- putting us up to 4,000. Hope to have positive news on the opening of "The Jungle" in the next week, putting us back to arround 6,000
Kevin,
3100 seems a bit high after looking at EL weekly last night. One end of the stand seemed to be half full(althought that might have been filmed before kickoff?) and there only seemed to be 150/200 around the far side? :ball: For once I'm not slagging, just interested! ;)
On a slightly different note, great to see the attendences at Sligo! If Sligo come up and we can hold on,it'll make for an interesting league in the NW next season, with Sligo, Harps and Derry. :ball:
My guess is about 1700 at the RSC ON Friday night, about 1200 in stand and about 500 standing around the ground.
I would say about 1700 too. Seemed to be a few more gaps in the stand compared to the harps game. There defenitley wasn't more than the 1900 for that game.
trevy, I don't agree with your breakdown though. The stand capacity is 1200 or so, and it wasn't that full.

So where were the others from? Must have wandered in accidentally off the street and then held captive by Ronan Seery until the end of the game ;)

Dundalk v. Kildare
Increases for absolutely everyone except Dub City (understandable) and Kildare.
I'm assuming the figure in brackets is the average across all of last season though ? In which case it would be fair to expect crowds at most clubs to start tailing-off as the season progresses and their chances diminish.
Great to see big increases at Limerick and Sligo though. Makes you wonder where those extra fans are the rest of the time !

Is that an official figure, or are you just saying that 'cos it sounds better than 1100? ;)

Yep. However, there've also been a couple of big derby games so far - Bohs v. Rovers, Galway v. Sligo (though the league screwed up and had it clash with the CL), Pat's v. Bohs, Rovers v. Shels - all of which will bring the averages up. I think though that most of the individual match figures are up from last season.

That figure must be wrong, it was our biggest crowd of the season I thought! It must either be a typo or didn't take into account the away fans or something, as was said there I can't believe it was our lowest crowd so far, doesn't make sense.

Very low crowd at our game v Kilkenny yesterday, even for us. Miserable wet day, FA Cup semi on tv, Monaghan county playing in the league semis scheduled for Clones, and with the wet weather I'd say very few decided to go to CHP when those games were postponed (but now I get to see the gaa semi next weekend :) ).
My guess - less than 100, 70 maybe?

yeah thats becoming a feature of de home matches too, its a case of the team having to bring the crowd to life instead of vise versa

impressive rise in attendances so far. was this the case at the start of last season as well or have they gone up on that too? any noticeable reasons or is it just a case of early season enthusiasm?

This season v. Last season. I'm gong to put this in after the weekend, as it makes it easier to see the changes match-by-match and also seems to be confusing some of our poor readers! ;) I'm matching Round One games with Round One games (i.e. comparing the first meetings or the second meetings, as the second round of games seems to draw smaller crowds.)
Bohemians v Cork City 1998 (2004 - 2440)
Drogheda United v Shamrock Rovers 2300 (1200)
Longford Town v Bray Wanderers 1200 (n/a)

The start and end had the biggest crowds last season; July and August were the worst. The figures will probably drop, but it seems at the moment like they won't drop far enough for the averages to be down on last season. Touch wood!

We've yet to play any Dublin teams yet. Though with the current state of De Bohez I wonder if they'll bring much of a crowd in two weeks.
