Why are some people finding so hard to believe that there was 1500 at our game most people watched the game from the new stand which holds 2000. Which was nearly full. At our first home game last season we had1200 (http://www.sligorovers.com/match/match%20stats/2004/20040327_v_galway.htm)

In fairness to Sligo their biggest and best stand is the one under the camera and 1,500 and more could easily be fit in there.

1250 ppl at the gufc - atfc match....they gave the exact figure, but didnt catch it...was close to 1250....someone might release the official figure at a later time....dont think that number includes season tickets or the one free match coupons....
I'm guessing 6500 were at the Cork-Bray game. I'm not sure how accurate my guess is but there were a lot of people there for a Bray game (although it was the first home game of the season). Shed full, Donnie Ford & Derrynane 90% full, St.Annes 60% full.

Will put Cork-Bray in as 6500 so. Nice to see Pat's announcing official attendances too - another club for the list! 738 was the counted attendance at UCD-Drogheda, though according to the club, it was nearer 900. Still, will put it in as the lower figure.

From the Sligo (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=23182&page=2&pp=20) forum - "Couple of hundred and mostly Sligo fans" at Dublin City v. Sligo Rovers, according to a Shels fan at the game. Have put that in at 300 so until we get any further info (Sligo website usually gives guesstimates as well).

So about 300 then? I see you drew as well - should hit the crowd next week! ;)
Will leave it in as 6500 just to err on the side of caution.
Per the Waterford forum (http://btid.irishfootie.net/viewtopic.php?t=1999), 2500-3000 at Waterford-Harps, although they do say that the Waterford fans made more noise than the Harps fans! ;) Will take the 2500 from that.

Having watched that on tape I thought that figure was suprisingly low too, but it's good their releasing offical figures.
Hard to say at Rovers v Shels, I'd say similar to Pats v Bohs, around the 3,000 mark.

The RSC stand holds 1200...it was packed today..even had a few people sitting down on the stairs  all the fans around the pitch had very little room to move a finger!!!
Only 200 at the Dublin V Sligo game...Thats miserable!
7000 at Turners Cross....WOW thats all I can say!

Don't forget the turnstile end is now closed off and you'd always have had a couple of hundred there. Plus in the first half the Shed was almost empty and not that many moved down there for the second half.

Attendances not looking bad so far and it seems as though most people are giving conservative estimates so this makes it look more realistic. Lets hope it keeps up. Who would have thought 7000 people would pay to see Bray play. That's probably more people than the whole of last season put together :D Have to say I thought the Pat's game had more than the 3019, just goes to show how easy it can be to over guess. Mind you I nearly started counting heads the game was that bad :(
(St.Anne's end) was practically full aswell! Id say 7000 would be a lot more accurate!
I was in the St.Anne's end, so I wasn't in a good position to judge. If it was nearly full then I'd go at 7,000 aswell.

Likewise - another point; if there were 3000 at Richmond, 3000 at Dalymount (?) 150 at Tolka and say 500 - guessing completely - at Belfield that adds up to, at best, 7000 for all the Dublin teams, all playing in Dublin - the same as at Turner's cross

say 500 - guessing completely - at Belfield
Why are you guessing when the crowd's given above? ;)
Nice to see Cork fans' assertions that here were definitely more than 6500 and probably more than 7000 were out - are official attendances for Cork City going to catch out Corkonian exaggeration? ;)
Will move Waterford-Harps up to 2750 (half way between 2500 and 3000) and put Rovers-Shels in as 3000 for the moment.

Rovers fans (http://www.aimoo.com/forum/postview.cfm?id=606830&CategoryID=362984&startcat=1&ThreadID=1980913) reckon 3500, though they also think they completely filled the Connaught Stand against Bohs! Will leave it in as 3000.

Huge crowd (for Division 1) at Limerick v Monaghan United.
According to their chairman there were 1800 paid in, but that probably doesn't include kids who got in for €2 with an adult (they just put a biro mark onthe ticket), so I'd say 2000-2100.
Bet the club wishes it was Good Friday every week! ;)

400 in Shed

There are 6000 seats a the cross, St anne there was at least 2000 out of a possible 2600, and put in the full shed and all above the st annes .... easily 6500, more like 7000 ..... stay with 6500, that way it is dead cert.

woaf! attendences have shot up!!! cooool...
One game only, don't forget! Still, everyone bar Dublin City (understandable as they've just been relegated) is up; twelve teams are up by over 50% and six teams (including the three promoted teams) are up over 100%. Don't see that lasting, but there's a bit of scope for a big fall and yet being up on last year.
Just as a comparison, I can put up the attendances for the corresponding games last season...
ROUND 1

Bohs - Rovers 3492 (2005 - 3873)
Bray - Pat's 2700 (no corresponding fixture)

Longford - Waterford 1400 (1000)
Shels - UCD 2477 (no corresponding fixture, but 1600 at Shels v. Dublin City)
FIRST
Athlone - Dundalk 450 (400)
Cobh - Limerick 300 (225)
Kilkenny - Dublin City 150 (no corresponding fixture, but 90 at Kilkenny v. UCD)
Monaghan - Galway 200 (83)
Sligo - Kildare 1500 (900)
ROUND 2
PREMIER
Cork - Bray 6224 (N/A)
Pat's - Bohs 3019 (3500)
Rovers - Shels 3500 (1400 - Rovers should be well up this year 'cos they're not playing at 7:00)

FIRST
Dublin City - Sligo 150 (N/A; UCD v Sligo - 338)

Think it clashed with the CL on the telly, more to the point. But yeah, it was an unusually low attendance alright. Still, should help you get your average up this season!

Thursday night was in Tolka (this wasn't Friday night as someone suggested above)
I agreed with the Sligo fan's guess of 300 rather than the Dublin City guess of 150.
On Friday Galway United's official attendance was 1264 which you have - the 'real' attendance was probably about 1600.
Fair dues to Limerick though - amazing crowd for the visit of Monaghan!
Hopefully it wasn't just the Good Friday effect which resulted in the bigger crowds!

About 4,400 at the Cross for City-Shels. All the dry areas were full: Shed - 2,000, Derrynane - 1,185, top half of Donnie Ford - 950, plus about 250 in the uncovered part of DF, and about 25 ppl in St.Anne's end. My figures work out at 4410, but since its only an estimate, we'll say 4,400!

I think this is only for league games so you don't have to round down. That's a low crowd by big game Cork standards no?
