didn't help too much wit you and your cronies behind our keeper throwing ball onto the pitch to distract him:D
in fairness i taught we deserved it..our central midfield were on top if you win that battle you always have a good chance..:ball:
Sorry "Hacker/The Special One" but "Me and my Cronies" were asked by the coaching staff at Newtown to stand behind the goal with a ball ready to give to your Keeper to save him having to run across that lovely farmland you share your pitch with. So we were not distracting your Keeper.

Bunratty 1 Rineanna 0

Game looked destined to finish nil all, Bunratty may have just shaded it. A good 3 points for them and I'm sure they wouldn't be too bothered about how they played. It's getting tighter and tighter at the bottom.

Any news on the other two games.

Very poor game in Bunratty, Rineanna were looking for a draw, Bunratty did not know how to break them down, great finish from Brian Keane (87 minute sub) to claim the points

Went out to watch newtown vs lifford game.it was a terrible game.newtown showed no real ambition which is unlike them and lifford were very poor also but they took their chances.it takes a good team to play poorly away and get a good result. it is a shame that a goal keeping error had an effect on the outcome.

CousinSylDolan

Sayin Rineanna played for a draw is wrong....Both teams went for the win and it actually looked like Rovers might nick it.

Bunratty battled to the end though and credit to Keano showed good touch and left foot finish to win it. Really could have gone either way though and both teams can play a lot better than that.

Must say the ref had a fine game whoever he was. Had not seen him before.

Cup quarter final weekend coming up now for both teams...

still!!! on the point funny to see a rineanna player rushing to give the ball back to his own keeper......:D

on the pitch we can't all get lotto pitches..

Why is that then. Make the effort and there should be NO problem. Ah don't bother sure, things are grand aren't they.

Only got the second half, Lifford are solid enough at the back with a desent keeper, while Newtown are opossite. Tom O'Hare breaks his balls at the back for Newtown but he can't do it on his own, he must be cracking up.When Skinny went up for the ball and dropped it a few people said watch this he'll drop it and through to their word he did. Don't think he has much confidence at the moment.

must have been at a differnt match .. only saw the first half had to go home to hope roma would beat man utd.. was a poor enough game from what i saw .. but newtown had at least 3 great chances to score before lifford scored with their only chance which was finished well .. :ball:

I'd agree with you there Smellyfeet.

Lifford have come away with two great away wins that put them on top of the table. Did they look impressive last night?

As for the bottom everyone is scrapping for points and one or 2 wins could lift teams to safety. Can you see Newtown getting involved into the playoff for relegation?

Draws may not be good enough and it could lead to teams going all out to win games rather than sitting back.

Lifford looked OK,good at the back and quick on the break, thats how they go their last 2 goals.

If Newtown keep going the way they are then its serious sh1t, they have the games in hand but would rather the points obviously. I can see some of the bottom teams taking points from Newtown but at the same time they'll do same. Hard to call but its going to be a hard run in and a few worry's along the way me thinks.

Take any points at this stage and hope others slip up.

There striker number 10 not sure of his name but was very impressive,he scored the first with a great finish with his back to goal, ran all day for lifford too which made the newtown defence look shaky, bad decision playin 3 at the back for newtown and having okuru on the bench, cant be gambling like that with the position there in..imo

no not really, newmarket are favourits in my reckoning. there league form is just as good if not better than liffords. the best thing about the run in is that any of the 3 teams can win it. all 3 teams are playing well. i just hope that that newmarket referee that robbed lifford in cassidy park against newmarket doesnt become the definitive moment in liffords season

they had a player sent off in the cup against tulla who played against bridge celtic in league. i always thought that you mautomatically missed the next game your team played unless it is fai or munster junior? cousin sly could you answer this has the player who was sent off against avenue served his suspension yet? if any one can clarify this rule will they?

First of all sincere condolances to family and friends of the lad tragically killed last night.

As regards a player gettin sent off...it is an automatic 1 game ban yes and the lg will send a letter lettin club know if he has been fined/suspended for any more games.

The only confision for the rule is if a player is sent off in an FAI or MJC game and his team win, then he misses the next game (or more) in that competition. If his team lose the game he was sent off in then he misses the next game (or more) his team plays, be it lg or cup.

Its a fairly simple rule, however I dont agree with having NO right to appeal. Refs make mistakes the same as players (as we saw at Newtown vs Bunratty last week) and why should a player miss the next game because of this.

(the player sent off against Avenue has served his ban yes)

do not want to name player on this forum as i think its inappropriate as it not his fault as the blame lies with the lifford club. this has massive ramifications for top and bottom of the table. as surely bridge celtic will be awarded the three points
