its just sour grapes from avenue c and clifford who both happen to be avenue.. murphman(BC) who does be on this site has not even posted about it.
all the same it keeps the thread interesting:p
not sour grapes. this is a common occurence especially in schoolboys and ye constantly get away with it while other clubs dont.. yes i am avenue but we come under the same rulings as all clare teams (supposed to). clare league take one step forward and five back. the rules are there for all clubs in black and white. there shouldn't have been a discussion points automatically should have been taken and move on. it just makes a mockery and discredits the league and there rules.

sly ur forgitting ye beat nwmkt in the tournament final as well. makes ye favourites tonight?
Is that cockiness I detect from Newmarket out red? Bunratty not a bad side on their day and when they are up for it they can beat anyone like they proved in the cup. Could be a mistake to wind them up.
Any truth in the rumour that some Newmarket players have already booked days off work next week after the bank holiday in planning for a week long session????
Any predictions for the first division games tomorrow night. Big pressure games for Hermitage, Kilmaley, Olympic and Rock. Any predictions on who goes down??

Lads, as regards the illegal player - it definetely looks like one rule for some clubs and a different batch of rules for others. We've already had this illegal
player rule imposed on us - it was an honest mistake and we took the punishment by being thrown out of the cup, as unjust as we may have seen it.... so if there is justice, Lifford should suffer punishment for a mistake whether or not they ment it.. If it takes weeks to sort this out then fair enough but it just shows why some clubs are leaving the Clare league, with this blatent disregard for clubs in Clare who work extremely hard to build a club with several teams/amenities etc only to be knocked down with politics...
For newtown and perhaps other clubs that may be leaving the clare league, best of luck and we hope to meet ye again in a munster Junior or FAi cup, its been a pleasure doing battle with ye - we hope to carry on in the prem but if its in the first div so be it.
see plastic tits his hit the nail right on the head. for clare league to maintain respect an independant stance has to be taken. same rulings right across the board. not just for the select. the only time i'd like to see rules bent is if its to help a clare team against another county. (if this is possible) i wonder would the cl be as accomendating.

It will all be irrelevant cos Newmarket can win the league by taking the 6pts from their next 2 games at home and their current form suggests they should. I dont think Newmarket will care at that stage if Lifford have 3 extra pts or not.
not the point. the right thing has got to be administered, for clubs to be any bit respectful to clare league. otherwise this creates problems futher down the line.......................but lifford got this avenue got that etc etc there's a bigger picture.

so wheres your proof??
BTW ..any sign of avenue getting their own ground???.:D
trying several avenues (excuse the pun) but no joy yet. with 25 year book and social out of way more time can be spent on this project. so if there is a farmer out there within a few miles radius of ennis with 10 acres who reads foot between milking mail me.

myleftfoot u will never make a dectective thats for sure, and your source that players have put in for holidays is incorrect. rats dont need winding up for tonight they will do that all on der own. we have the utmost respect for bunratty and know exactly how good they are, but we have to win its as simple as that.

Excellent game in Newmarket, all talk of Bunratty rolling over, never materialised, Rats took the lead totally against the run of play, Newmarket stormed forward and 2 great goals saw them through, All roads lead to Mcdonagh park Sunday, 1 more win secures the league

Its at the stage now that if they don't win last 2 games and hope someone else slips up they are gone. Can't see them winning them so its curtains IMO.
Maybe They'll get 3 points from Kildysart but don't think Bridge Celtic will lose to Newtown. Could be wrong tough. Need to put big Noel up front for the last 2 games.

A few of the youths got a start before the older lads lastnyt.dont no why maybe just giving them a bit of experience at junior level, which is fair enough, but it would have looked better for newtown if they played there stronger team last few games to have stayed in the premier for there last season in clare soccer.doesnt look good getting relegated this season. :ball:

They have been on an awful run since beating Bunratty a few weeks back...and Bunratty went on a brilliant run since that game until last night. You would not have thought that when the 2 teams walked off the field that night in Ballycasey.
Still Newtown's last 2 games are very winnable and BC have a tough last game so they might slip out of trouble yet. You would have to think all this talk of joining Park AFC has not helped managment and players.
Well done also to Newmarket last night... Best team for consistency in the lg all year and 1 more win Sunday will do it.
Also well done to players and managment at Bunratty. After a shocking start to the lg, to put a run of 6 wins in a row together to secure saftey deserves credit. (ps B team should never have released BM to ye:D)

Young lads do need to get a few games alright but Peter Baron has been a regular for few games now and only other younger player i noticed was Aaron Leahy. I don't know about this thing in regard to Newtown Not getting relegated in thier last season. If they were to be playing in the Clare league next year it would be a catastrophe anyway them being relegated, just the same thing.

Prediction Time
Cup Semi Finals
Bunratty V Moher ( Bunratty Win )
Rineanna V Rock Rovers ( Rineanna Win )
Would make a good final and no doubt be pleny of bite in it.
League
Newmarket should be crowned Champions at home to Burren on Sunday. ( Anyone from Newtown comment on how good/bad the Burren were the other night ) They got a great win in Shannon.
Newtown to get a welcomed 3 points against Kildysart. Who is Newtown's last game against.
Lifford have to win against Bridge Celtic to keep their hopes of winning the league alive. Should be a close one with lots at stake for both teams. ( Home win )

Cup semi-finals
Rineanna and the rats to go through and make for a mouth watering final. I would expect Bunratty to win as I think they are slightly the better footballing side but rineanna have oodles of character and belief so they will fancy themselves too. I am sure Moher and Rock will say that I am getting ahead of myself.Good luck to all.
Premier league
3 vital games down for decision. An away win for Newtown in Cahercon, lifford to beat Bridge Celtic and send them down. I can see Newmarket put in a nervy performance but come out on top to win the league.

Management have put in a lot of work this year to be honest and got no luck with injuries ect before a few weeks back. 1 or 2 wins on the trot does a lot for any team and they just seemed to have a bit more falling their way recently.
Still lets see does it contine to Sunday... Things can change back the other way in a second and they are coming off a defeat midweek.
Rhine Rovers won TOTM for March.

Have Newmarket ever won this award. I think last year they were in big trouble in the league and put a run of 5 or 6 wins in the last months of the league. They have only lost 1 and drew 2 this year, thats surely enough to win....sure i'd say they'll be happy enough with the league this time sunday.

Although Bunratty are very worthy winners i cannot understand how newmarket have failed to win the award.they have only lost one game all season.joke really.they drew one game this month and beat bunratty(winners of the award).but i think bunratty are worthy winners when you consider their cup form also.

There are congratulations all across the board after this weekend.
Fantastic couple of days for Newmarket Celtic. Youths Cup Winners, followed up by yesterdays crowning glory - very well deserved, they have been the most consistant team in a very competitive season.
Bunratty and Rock with great results in the Cup Semi Finals, not too many were predicting that Final.
Bridge Utd. B for again doing what they had to do in the 2nd Division, all concerned must be praying for the A team to get promoted.
Rhine Rovers for eventually winning the 3rd Division, though in fairness they probably had it won by Xmas but kept plugging away.
And finally, Tulla. From what I hear, there new facilities are second to none and is a great credit to a small club with big ambitions.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL.

Congrats to all involved in Newmarket this year. To only lose 1 match so far is a great achievement.
Did they receive the trophy?
Bunratty and Rock in the Cup final. Was at both games and the two teams mentioned probably deserved to be in the final. Bunratty will rue a terrible start to the season as they are on a great run and could have been there or thereabouts in the shake up for the league.
They were deserving winners against Moher in my opinion, a bit more soccer than the Moher lads.
Rock produced a shock in beating Rineanna. Everyone was gearing up for extra time but a great header late on won it for them. Rineanna will need to bounce back and get a result in their next two games as they are still not safe.

Only watched the first game and would have to disagree with you, i thought Moher were very unlucky not to win, hitting the inside of the post and had two dead cert penos waved away and the one they got wasnt a peno at all. Bunratty keeper had a good game and the team as a whole worked hard. I think this will be the end of Moher as a team challenging for trophys i can see the team breaking up now.Being so close the last few years and winning nothing you'll see alot of players throwin their hat into the GAA ring again
Saying that
