just checked back over posts did not see a lot building newtown up

last one below was from shelbourne praising both teams !!!

U17CupNewtownvAvenue

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone with nothing to do on Monday night might consider going toDoora to see this cup final.Strange time to be on almost like hiding it away??? 2 good football sides ,old adversaries ,Newtown going for the double ,won the 2 league matches 2-1 and 5-0,cocky as hell but Avenue spirit will never say die and very good team under Gary Seery.Should be a good one.
Any takers???

who are you to comment on other teams..some clubs don't have the resources that other teams have..so why come on here slagging them..if you know the facts how many games did they turn up wit only 7 or 8 players??...i think you'll find it was 1 game..i think its better to turn up wit 7 or 8 players than give a walkover like several clubs did this year..so maybe you should show some manners or maybe you don't have any:mad:

ah goway hacker. how can you defend them and a couple of them walkin off the field laughin and sayin ''well lads it was good season anyway haha''. resources don't come into this one, look at their opponents Cooraclare, their resources are hardly better than Cratloe. Cratloe were only in the Premier 2 seasons ago and they've had successive relegations. Since they went from the Premier some of their players have used it as a way 'to keep fit' for Cratloe's GAA teams. That Cratloe team have no heart and from what I can see only a few lads actually give a sh!t about the club. That's why they're down in the 3rd division now and they're there to stay. LazyLegs dont be tryin to stir .....

evan glynn would have to get on my first team along with terry duggan, also scott hennessy from lifford, and crusher from newmarket would be a better option than o reilly imo.

shelbourne im hearing that there's a youths shield in mid june so maybe ye can atone for yer 17s final defeat in that.

cant argue with most of your selections there lazylegs, perhaps you could fit in outreds picks in it too

i think you have something personel against someone from cratloe...what makes cratloe have more resources than cooroclare..alot of lads that played soccer in cratloe when in premier are gone notably the 3 mc millans..2 gone to australia.also 1 other lad pa finucane in australia.with a few lads retiring ie c galvin,r o hara,j o gorman, mike o gorman..thats the majority of there team that played premier..i don't really believe that they said that after game.cause if they didn't care why turn up..are you telling me alot of teams don't have players keeping fit for gaa season..as other lads said your out of order coming on here slagging teams..

no i have nothing against anyone from cratloe. where did i say that cratloe's resources are better than cooraclare? i said theirs are hardly better than cratloe. they're about the same id say, they both have 1 junior team and both have poor standard pitches. one of the players told me that was said so i take it it was then.and im not coming on here slagging them im only giving my view/opinion, its hardly out of order. so theres no need for you to try and be the nice guy

Newtown 6 - 3 Bunratty

Good open game, some great goals. Delighted to finish the season with some pride after the ****e we produced all year.

Tulla's facilities are the best I've seen in the country. Credit to them it was a pleasure to play there.:ball:

Well done to Newtown last night but in the words of the Hot House Flowers

"Dont go!!!!! Dont leave me now now now!!!!"

As for the facilities in Tulla. Was not there myself but one of our players described them as "League of Ireland standard" Well done to everyone in Tulla and I hope ye gain promotion Sunday.

Also well done to Olympic for an easy win away to Rock last night. We now have no messy playoff's in the 1st division anyway. All will be decided at the Rock vs Corofin game Sunday.

I imagine Rock are still well sozzled after the weekend. I know Bunratty are and they lost the final!!!!

Both defences must have played well then:)

No seriously, well done on winning last game ever for Newtown.

I haven't seen Tulla's place yet, Heard it the business tough. Thats one more Club in Clare with good facilities so hopefully more to follow, it can only be good for the league in general.

Great win for Olympic last night. Guaranteed them a play-off place at the very least. Corofin have to beat Rock to gain the second automatic promotion place. By all accounts Rocks heart wasn't in it and understandably so.:ball:

That would be individuals as Newtown will be out of business next year. Can't comment on the Clare League thing, maybe you can as you mention "we seeking legal action". Wouldn't have a clue what the team up on The Riverside will be next year, i wouldn't be surprised if they pull a few of Newtown players from last year. I can't be a part of something that doesn't exist.

only know what i've been told, don't know no more. my inside connections are keeping very quiet. I hope it works as it wil be good for football in shannon.
Is there a concern that any of the ex-newtown players might fancy joing shannon town instead of park , with ST in a higher division, or will parks playing surface attract them..

ST have some worries about relegation, some crucial games ahead for them some head to head on the relegation issue, just shows you the state of junior football in our town.

This is very true, Shannon has 7 Junior teams, A and B's included. None of which are playing in the Premier leagues "Clare or Limerick".Not so long ago Shannon had 3 teams from playing Premier. At the moment Junior football is at its all time low.

there is already a stong backbone with some very good players at olympic. Very unlucky not to get promoted this year. Hopefully with the experience of last year along with the addition of a few more good players we can make a strong push for promotion. Its a tough division and will take a lot of hard work but we will give it a right good go:ball:

Best of luck papa-j in your new role, on another note, Bunratty are on the look for a new manager, don't know if the management team left or were asked to leave. The lads that were there did a good job and i think will be sorely missed, have heard that both lads have been approached by different clubs for the new season. Anyone confirm or deny the lads have moved on??

Yes, the 2 lads offered their resignation at a committee meeting last Thurs.

Committee and players at Bunratty would all agree the lads done a fine job over the time they were involved. Team is in a much healthier state than when they took over. Well done and best of luck to both of them.

Search for a new manager begins....
