Reid has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract at Forest.

Thought he would have been an excellent signing, even in January, for a lot of Premier League teams with his obvious talents, form, experience in the Premiership and his status as an International footballer and club captain but he probably isn't exotic enough.

In any event, he may have stayed. Either way it's irrelevant now.

Goal against West Ham.

Nice goal there.

Best player on the pitch.

But how bad are West Ham. A disgrace really.

I doubt they care much about the FA cup, avoiding relegation will be the priority.

It was far from their strongest line up so the result flatters Forest somewhat.

Whether The F.A cup is their priority or not - they still fielded Maiga, Morrison , Downing , jarvis all experienced first team premiership players - to be stuffed like they were at forest is what harry says...an absolute disgrace.

Sam surely wont be in the job for much longer.

Maybe, to be honest I don't know much about the West Ham line up and the relative strengths
of the players, however compared to relegation the FA is rather insignificant, if I were the manager
my only advice to the player would be to not get injured.

As to whether Sam goes I have no idea, their next league match is a 6 pointer v relegation rivals Cardiff,
if he loses that he will surely go but they may want to dump him before that to give the team a boost,
but it's a big decision to make, if they dump him and lose the match anyway they will look screwed.

Just seen his goal on Sky Sports. Another cracker. His 9th of the season.

Will post a GIF if I can find one.

Lovely strike, outside of the left foot I think.

They will probably remove the video fairly soon though.

Two assists for Andy as Nott'm Forest come from behind to beat Watford 4-2.

Simon Cox came off the bench to net his 6th and 7th goals of the season.

No, ex-Ireland international and Nottingham Forest coach David Kelly.

The Indo's David Kelly thinks Trap had a direct line to God for luck, castigated our cowardly acceptance of playing in Mainz, and thinks Robbie Keane is a chav who can't hold a torch to Drico. Only a 3-0 thumping of Spain in Madrid will do. Anything less and there's just no point in fielding a team, unlike our rugby heroes who invented penicillin and the internet.

Duffer's retirement must have been like a dagger through Kelly's heart. For years, we had a clean-living, middle-class borderline genius from Ballyboden for him to fawn over. Now who has he got left from the suburbs, Stephen Kelly?

Stephen Kelly is a lovely guy. My brother told me that he used to come to Maynooth to visit his student girlfriend and you wouldn't think he was a Premier League footballer from the way he carried himself. A lot of GAA players could learn a lesson in humility from him.

Some extremely lofty praise for Andy Reid.

Kelly has always come across like a gentleman. Which is why the spat with Trapattoni was so unsavoury - I wanted to believe he wasn't just throwing his toys out of the pram, but I just had the suspicion he had overstepped his mark.

edit: I should clarify, him coming across like a gentleman has nothing to do with him being well-spoken and middle-class. I am still in the minority who believe Robbie Keane is a very articulate sportsman and he'll do well in punditry if he chooses to go that way after he retires.

"If Andrea Pirlo had been coached by Steve Staunton, he'd have been Andy Reid". :p

(not having a go at Staunton or Andy, it just seems to work better than other options, was gonna use Trapattoni at first, but I suspected there might be a problem
with that and indeed there is it seems).

I'm sure a few more joke can be squeezed out of that tweet.

The enigma that is Andy Reid. Never made it in the Premiership for Spurs and Sunderland but has excelled for Forest in both spells. Why I am not sure - perhaps lacking the required pace or physicality despite his corpulent frame. He's 31 now and nearing the end of his career which should have delivered much more I think.

Saw the game last night and two of his crosses for goals were excellent. He was once again man of the match. Other interest in that game was Cox came on as a sub and scored two goals and Sean Murray playing for Watford.

Another week, another assist for Andy Reid. His terrific set-piece delivery on show again as Jamaal Lascelles meets his free-kick from close range.

Blackpool 0-1 Forest

Looks like they've consolidated a Playoff place at the very least. Now it's just a question of who goes up with Leicester; QPR, Burnley, Forest or Derby?

They got the pick of the draw too IMO Sheffield Wed or Charlton, so a good chance
Of making the semi final, could get another good draw after that and make the final.
However United have equalised. Reid almost flicked a free kick in, don't think he has got any slimmer ;)

Andy Reid just converted a penalty putting Forest 2-1 up against top of the table Leicester.
I should not really comment though as it normally goes pear shaped for any team I follow shortly
after. However having said that, Leicester have just had a man sent off.
Will be just typical for me if they still go on to win with 10 men!! (about 30 mins left).
Charlie's comment above just typifies what can happen at Forest!!

They are on a 12 league match unbeaten run having won 8 consecutive in that period, setting a new club record. So there is a bit of fight & quality there. All done without their talisman defender SSL as well :) however they managed it.

They lost again today and there are 3 or 4 teams breathing down their neck with less games played.

Yep Forest seem to have imploded since his injury, joint worst team in the league, relegation form.
Hard to see them getting play off place, it's like watching a horse you backed fading into the pack
you just no he ain't coming back.

Looks like Reid is back,

31 Cox (Derbyshire - 78' )
21 Paterson (Reid - 71' )
39 Abdoun (Henderson - 78' )

Came on as sub and Forest scored 9 minutes later, meaning Forest didn't lose, it would have been the 4th
match in a row they lost without him.
So he seems to have a considerable positive effect on Forest.

Indeed he provide the cross for the goal.

Yes I think I mentioned similar before, if he can do that for Forest surely he can have a similar effect Ireland.

I think that is the reason Stuart Pearce does not want the managers job until next season
when presumably Reid will be back

Ruled out for "the rest of the season" but this seems to only mean their league games. Forest are currently 1-0 up at home to lowly Birmingham while Ipswich are losing, and if the scores stay the same they'll be three points from the playoffs with three to play. I wonder if Reid could make it back if they qualify?

Following the announcement I am likely to miss the rest of the season with a calf injury, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the Nottingham Forest fans for their support this season.I cannot tell you how disappointed I am to have picked up another injury. It’s been a very frustrating period for me but thankfully it isn’t serious and I’ll be ready to go again next season.

As I highlight in today’s programme, our focus today rests solely on putting in a performance our supporters can be proud of. It is up to us to give them something to shout about because we are in the middle of a difficult run. It’s tough for us all, but when the team and crowd work together The City Ground is a tremendously difficult place for any side to come to.

Please join me in giving Gary Brazil and the players plenty of support today and I look forward to seeing you all again in 2014-15.

Reidy
