Looks like Pat Fenlon's Euro conservatism has come back to haunt him again.

The man didnt play Neale Fenn in a European game.....

ya, if they want to start moving on and getting more people through the gates they need to be beating Latvian opposition.

yeah, its that simple isnt it? Do everyone a favour and please take your typical anti eL garbage elsewhere.

The thing is skstu, this neo-anti-anybody-not-in-the EL Family stuff gets boring after a while. I am not anti EL at all, in fact I'd love to see it doing well. So lose that fast.

stu, I meant because of his experience in Europe, maybe thats why he is so conservative, given he knows that 100% concentration and the rate with which errors are pounced upon he feels he has to be.

EL teams should feel confident and an inner belief to beat these teams(beaten before they take to the field etc), otherwise they will never progress, after all winning breeds confidence.

Finally, winning against latvian opposition will help bring in crowds i.e. winning against such opposition will eventually draw bigger clubs and help advertise the league. If this occurred year on year crowds would flock to the league.

His experiences in Europe have largely been because of his conservative attitude. There's no magical aura in Europe which makes mid-table Latvian teams pounce on errors quicker.

Heary sent off in injury time too - is that a ban for the next European campaign?

your constant ribbing of every negative of the Eircom League is just as tiring, believe you me. Not to mention the fact that most of your posts in this forum, when things go wrong, come across as some sort of strange gloating.

What was your post supposed to mean then? "Eircom League teams you better start winning or else...." - its not like we and others arent trying or dont want to. Sometimes things dont go to plan. One things for sure, people like you dont help the cause of our domestic teams.

How do you expect us to respect what you post when you come onto this forum not 5 minutes after the game is over and start this rubbish. I didnt see you come on to congratulate the league or Bohs when we put Rhyl away scoring a hatful in the process.

Im not surprised as i have seen this crap from you before but maybe if you waited a while and read about the game you might have a slightly different opinion. Lets just say the "sportsmanship" of the Latvians from last week continued this week.

Anyway, i dont expect you to care too much about the game itself as you have now got the attention you seem to desperately crave. Congratulations.

The Latvian league which is ranked six places higher (http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Ekassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method3/crank2009.html) than the LoI? I still think Bohs should have gone on to win having gone 1-0 up at home, but we're in no place to be assuming wins over Latvian teams.

Looks like Pat Fenlon's Euro conservatism has come back to haunt him again.

I personally know that the Latvian League is no better than the League of Ireland, for the top teams in Ireland going out to teams from Latvia to me, is not doing the league justice, Bohs are much better than Riga, Bohs are suppose to best team in Ireland at the moment, and for them to get knocked out by slighly-above average team in Latvia, gives the league a bad name.

They are not showing a stream of the game rather a 'Live Play' Market

I thought Bohs were unlucky. The Riga team got the job done..but Bohs for me were the better side.

Their number 19 looked good. Him and Kelly were the best on the pitch with the ball at their feet.

They are not showing a stream of the game rather a 'Live Play' Market

They have a camera beside the game's betting odds and the match is listed on their live streaming page. However if RTE aren't showing the match I'm not too sure what camera they'll be using to stream the game.

I think they're still sulking from quite rightly being told where to go by Drogheda when they wanted rights to their previous campaign gratis.

Fabio and Dan Connor (and Jason Gavin) played for the Drogs in the A league at the weekend. Fabio scored as well. Even having them on the bench (not Gavin unfortunately) should give a boost to the team. They should be ok to play in Estonia.
I think we'll do Levadia.

Also I think Pats and Cork will cruise through their first round. Pity about Bohs but it could still be a very good year in Europe.

Bohs results in the intertwobob don't influence the co-efficient anyway (afaik) so makes no difference to the rest of the league that they're gone IMO.

Makes a big difference to the margarine kids who had booked their flights to the next round already though!!:D

Re: the TV broadcasts. In the very recent it's being the norm to delay announcing a live broadcast to aid ticket sales. In the meantime if anyone is interested in any of the matches they should go to them.

Probably would have made it worse as our score would have been divided by four instead of three.

Only if they got below the average of the other three.

Though losing to Latvian teams wouldn't have helped.

Only if they got below the average of the other three. They'd enter in a later round though wouldn't they so it'd be much harder to pick up results.

This is a minor point though as a team getting that far would be a positive for the league.

Is this it: Look up Ireland - http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method3/trank2009.html

They will go through, I have no doubts, a 2-0 win would be perfect and is very possible.

Just noticed that some of the CL games have already been played and Llanelli did us a huge favour by beating the Latvian Champions.
With respect to the other countries around us, Modrica beat Dinamo Tirana and Kaunas beat the Andorrans.

in fairness, they won the first leg 1-0 at home - the only thing they did more than Bohs was to not concede an away goal. There's still the 2nd leg to come.

Its coming out time for Statos.

The were reason for it but Derry were an embarrassment last year. All 3 LOI sides should progress or expect the backlash.

I see Stuart Byrne having a cut off other clubs for perceived lack of seriousness in preparation for European games. Don't now who he is talking about but Drogs were seeded this year due to effort of other clubs. They also drew with San Marino side which was a pitiful effort.
