Pats making a good stab of it anyway, that away goal is vital to take back. Elsborg look beatable.

God, I hate Gabriel Egan. Don't ****ing react to an incident before you describe it, we don't know what you're reacting to! Gimp. How is still employed as a radio commentator??
Europe is about taking your chances when you get them. Doesn't matter who has all the possession.

Any chance of translating any quotes from Elfsborg manager?
Not over yet but I don't know what it is but love when LOI sides knock out Swedes.

Not many quotes as of yet Pete. See if there's anything in tomorrow's papers. But Magnus Haglund (Elfsborg's coach) says on their official site - "Perfect first half, leading 2-0, could easily have been 4-0 (true, btw). Pats were about to fall apart towards the end of the first half but they got a new lease of life after their goal. Overall we played well but only got a 2-2 result from the first match in a two-legged tie. We'll have to go to Dublin and win there".

I'd fancy Pats to get more points in their game than the two Bosnian sides. Certainly got the better draw and even if Pats grab a draw at home I think it's more than Bosnia are getting!
If Pats get a draw then Hungary need two wins, looking at the teams they face I can't see that happening either.
Would be a great season if we hold onto 32nd. Even if we don't we'll have two of our three UEFA Cup teams getting a bye to QR2 in 2010.
27th is our next aim :)
Both Bosnian and Hungarian teams lost!!
Don't see them getting too much from the 2nd legs either.
32nd on the cards :)
Actually you can more or less rule out points for Slovenia or Latvia in the 2nd legs too.
If Pats can win at home we're looking good for 30th !!!

great result in the end given all accounts, it definitely seems EL teams have got that extra bit now, and the experience is paying off when it comes to going a goal down or even 2 as demonstrated by both Drogehda and St Pats. Hopefully they can now progress and maybe get a lucky draw in the 3rd round.

End of that, I think.
Elfsborg have conceded five goals in the league all season.
Enjoy being wrong like that. Though it's hard to remove the shadow of Cork's troubles from the result. Probably a full gate for the home tie now?

Poznan (Pol) V Grasshoppers (Swi) - 6-0 to Poznan
Warsaw (Pol) V FK Moscow (Rus) - 2-1 to Moscow
Stuttgart (Ger) V Gyor (Hun) - 2-1 to Stuttgart
Young Boys (Swi) V Debrecen (Hun) - 4-1 to Young Boys
Brijeg (Bos) V Besiktas (Tur) - 2-1 to Besiktas

All good for us so far - Poznan's result must be the result of the tournament so far!

Great result coming back from 2-0 down at h/t but I hope that pats wont go into the match thinking that a draw will do. Elfsborg will come out fighting from the start and Pats really have to match them rather than try and soak it up. pats should be looking at trying to score an early goal and then elfsborg defence will open right up as they look to salvage there european run this season.

first half, leading 2-0, could easily have been 4-0 (true, btw).
totally disagree with this. barry ryan had very few shots to save. they had alot of possession and close passes. they were running scared of quigo.

Well done to St Pats. I didn't expect a result like that. Unfortunately I missed the match as I had a football match at the same time but it's looking good for the Saints as Swedish sides don't fair to well on Irish soil in recent years.
And by the way, how did the St Pats fans get on Göteborg?

Only €10 in which is great value I think for any football supporters about Dublin on Thursday evening.
Its an extremely tough match for Pats. Elfs will know a lot more about Pat's now and will have sussed Pats' tactics.
Elfs are 2nd in the league so are a top Swedish side and the word on the street is that are confident of an easy victory on Thursday against Pats.
It would be great if Pats progressed but this Swedish outfit will be difficult to get a result against in the 2nd leg.
:)
€10 Admission - Excellent value, get down there to support Pats

A rival in the domestic competitions aye, but any irish team doing well in europe is ultimately good for all teams.

I couldn't care less how a rival does in European competitions anymore.

€10 I agree is excellant value for an evening of European football with the lovely possibility of an Irish side going through.
Go on Pats, do the biz.
I still wince when I think of Shane Robinsons shot going tantalisingly across the goalmouth.
I love it when Irish sides do well in Europe(even Derry:eek:), love it I tell you.
For those of us living outside Dublin what station is showing the match please?

Narrow minded.
I couldn give a monkeys about Drogs normally but in their second leg against Kiev I found myself screaming at the tv after Gartland scored, when Hughes missed that sitter and when the ball spun across the line in the dying minutes.
We should support our own and in Europe Pats are our own. At €10 its great value.

Going with another foot.ie member + others (including a Brighton fan who's over visiting and has never seen a LOI stadium or team - although Richmond is probably better than Withdean!).
Was at the Olimps game too - I don't think its impossible to support another team when they're representing the league, as Pats are. Wouldn't support Derry though...

Ya, it does say that on the website. I'm trying to see if you need to be a subscriber for it though or something. Don't see anything though...
EDIT: I've gone down throught the article and while my Swedish isn't as good as I'd like... what they are doing is selling reserved spots for the stream, limited to 800 people. They are selling them for 50kr a pop (just over €5).
I'll wait till they put the highlights up the following day perhaps.
Are there any live text updates goin up anywhere on the night?

My point was they are claiming to be web streaming.
Dunno how they can if :
1. They don't have the rights
2. How will they get coverage to their server
Could be 800 disappointed customers
800*5 = 4k, free money :D

You make some good points. It doesnt say that it isn't geo-locked either so even if they have all the bits and bobs in place, we may not be able to see it anyways.
It does also say on the site that it is the only way to see it... It won't be live on Swedish TV.
