Saw him at the match last Thursday looked as fit as a fiddle and id imagine he was keeping himself fit but its a fair point re Pre Season.
he might be an impact sub coming on after 60 mins maybe.
Rovers have missed that this season for a lot of it.
Im guessing he is an expensive signing but i suppose the hope is we get some points in Europe which pays big

As an aside to that, Glens are rumoured to be after Ben Doherty, and looking to pay him £3k a week.
Possibly seems a bit too mad to be true.Declan Devine quoted the day after your post:
"It's absolute speculation," said the Glens boss when asked about any possible move for Doherty. "There's no chance Ben will be coming to Glentoran, he's more than happy and having an outstanding season at Derry City.
"I'm best friends with his Dad, I played with his Dad, I was at school with his Dad. But there's absolutely no truth in that rumour at all."

Does he know his dad by any chance?

Must be personal reasons or something up with that medical he failed? Just can't see why he'd return otherwise given he did well in England and had interest from clubs there.
Who nose the reason why ? these things arent always black and white.

Derry signed Andre Wisdom, previously off Liverpool and Derby county, has a good pedigree and is not too old so if it works out should be a decent addition…

Looks like he's played about 12 games since 2021. Blast from the past though, shocked he's only 31.

Has had a really rough time of it lately since being stabbed in the head in an unprovoked attack in 2020.
Said he went back to football too quickly initially.
Hope it works out.

Yeah I probably should've looked further than his Wikipedia page tbf which only had him playing 12 games. Looks like that has been updated since I looked earlier too.

I'm gonna say with limited games over 3 years they should have signed his brother Norman Wisdom!!

Sean Robertson and Duncan Idehen, both from England.
Robertson played tonight, and looked lively enough.

Arran Pettifer has left Pats and signed for Cliftonville. His time at Pats consisted of a red card in the first half of his debut in the LSC against St Mochtas aaaaand, that was it in terms of senior appearances. He becomes the 5th player that Jon Daly signed ahead this season that Kenny has chucked out before the seasons out

Daly's a good coach but evidently dreadful when it comes to recruitment. An utterly pointless signing and as you allude to he's not the only example.

Yes its a shame that Brian Gartland wont have any say in the super signings policy at Oriel Park anymore, is there a head of football recruitment slot at St Pats going.....

Pitaluga joins Livingston in the Scottish second tier, having had his loan at Pat's ended early.
He's done well to get that tbh

No Ucd fans in away section in Tralee last night. Think that's the first time the away section has been empty in our short existence.

I bet there was one, surely there was some shout or cheer when UCD scored!

Lorcan Fitzgerald departs Bray with 6 games of the season to go,I presume he was the interim first team manager after Ian Ryan left but I’m not sure it was ever announced,Bray as strange as ever anyway!!!

Or is it a case that the club is still an absolute basketcase behind the scenes? I'd spring for the latter given it's been 3 months since Ryan left and there was very little clarity over who was actually running the team

17 year old Luke O'Donnell has signed for Wolves from ourselves for an "initial six-figure sum".
For someone who has only played two minutes of senior football, it seems a lot.

The Bray managers dont pick the team, you can only put up with that for so long

Bohs have just extended the contracts of James Clark & Kasper Chorazka. Great news, and doing business early. Well done to all involved.

What’s the story with Clarke this year? Seems to have had a very big drop off in performances compared to last year. To the point that he’s even struggled to nail down a spot in the starting 11 since Tierney and Devoy have returned. Was there a change in position or anything like that that resulted in the drop in performances this season? Still a very talented young player and defo worth signing back up

Yeah I'm surprised to see Clarke staying. Have seen a lot of Bohs fans bemoaning the fact he hasn't been getting much of a chance in recent months so I figured he'd be off.

He hasn't been as consistent, simple as that really. McDonnell has probably been our best player this season week in, week out and after bringing back Devoy and Tierney you have to play them. Clarke is the odd man out in that situation, although Reynolds has tried him as a striker recently and it's works alright in some games and not so well in others. I'm also a bit surprised he signed a new deal but if we want to improve next season we need some quality squad depth.

I think it's important to note he's been out best player in terms of consistency. On a week to week basis he's probably never our best player on the pitch but he does so much dirty work in terms of tracking back, tackling, going box to box for the full 90 that his performances are never below a 6-6.5 out of 10. In a season where we've had players be game changers one week and anonymous or worse the next that consistency is very valuable.

Will this be the end of transfer fees? How will this affect the LOI? Clubs investing in academies to sell the best players will need a new business plan.
