Good signing. Seems to have been a transfer fee involved according to Motherwell

Quality signing, hopefully the first of some quality signings, we quality not quantity. I'd rather have 4 quality players than 6 donkeys who end up not playing and only add to the wage bill

Doubt Georgie is on the move. He's just Joined Carlisle in the January window. I am curious if there are any other u21s from Tierney's group being lined up though since they would have worked with Reynolds before.

More in jest. Only played 7 games for them after signing. 2 off the bench. No goals either. Big season for him in League 2 next season. Or maybe come Christmas he might be on his way home…

It’s mad how quickly he’s fallen down the leagues over there in the past 6/7 months. 18 appearances in the first half of the championship season, moves to League One Carlisle in January on a 3.5 year deal, then they get relegated to League Two

Yeah it's a bit of a weird one. He signed for Rotherham when the were in L1 & scored the goal that sealed promotion to the championship. I think he struggled with injuries throughout his time with Rotherham and dropped back to L1 where he was a bit more proven (he was also injured when the move was completed IIRC) and then Carlisle got relegated to L2. Hope he gets a healthy run of games behind him because he certainly has the ability for L1/L2 but if he can't stay fit it doesn't mean much.

Yeah, injuries haven't helped - was injured when he signed for Carlisle and picked up an injury the week he was due to make his Rotherham debut. Had other knocks too but they're bad timing - really hard to make a good first impact when the first thing you do is get injured

Be interesting to see how he does with Carlisle, who you'd presume will be winning games next season (as opposed to two seasons way adrift at the bottom)

Shels have just made their best signing of the summer with another 2.5 years of Duff. Joey O'Brien, Dave McAllister, Mauro Martins and Paul Skinner all signed extensions too, another positive day for the club

Makes sense, Lilander lacked the speed and physicality for the league and while Reinkort looked decent in his few minutes played he wasn't fit enough for the full 90 under Devine and Reynolds seems to want a higher level of fitness than Devine wanted. It was just never going to work for him if he couldn't get up to match fitness.

Yeah they were both absolute ****.

Haven't seen worse players play for bohs in a while.

It seems slowly but surely Rennie is putting his touch on the squad. Hopefully we can get in a few more players of real quality, like Ross, and that there's a few more out the door too

I'd say McDaid and Piszczek will be gone too. McDaid has been at the club two years this summer which is a bit mad looking at what he's actually contributed. Not sure where we'll get two decent strikers in but they can't be much worse than the likes of Reinkort and Piszczek.

Whatever about the quality of those 'mutually' released (FWIW I'm happy we're shot of all 3), with Matheson gone back on loan we don't have a RB. Miller has been played there, but but it's slim pickings.
More signings in the pipeline I guess.
I'd keep McDaid - although I suppose he's down the pecking order with Rossi back.

You could be right but unless we are bringing another forward in, I’m not sure we’ll offload another one until that happens.

Weirdly I've been impressed with Miller at RB. His positioning has been good so he hasn't been caught for pace which was a big concern for me. He's not a long term solution there but he's better than Lilander and Kukoloviec were for us. Still it's a shame we couldn't keep Matheson for the season. Such a solid player and you could leave him on a bit of an island and let the wingers drift inside or to the complete opposite side of the pitch which you can't do with most fullbacks in the league.

He started the season injured and seemed way off the pace in the cameo's he got after coming back.

A proper pre-season will do him well. He was impressive at first division level so was surprised he was pretty much the only Galway player who seemed to struggle with the step up to the premier .

He could never get up to speed and particularly towards the end his attitude was terrible. The Kenny clearout begins it will be interesting who departs and what players he can bring in.

Willie Armshaw leaves Treaty for personal reasons. Could just be work-related, or maybe he wasn't getting enough game time.

Disappointing to lose one of our very few players with any kind of guile or spark.

Freeman is one of those where on paper he looked to have some decent pedigree about him but my god he was appalling. How the player we saw this year managed to play a full season for a side that qualified for Europe in the SPL I've no idea. Saw some Dundee United fans at the time say that he'd looked completely shot of confidence in his last season or so there and that seemed to remain the case at Pats. Not surprised to see him gone already.

I’d prefer Jaros back, if I’m being picky. But still, good signing. Interesting, as he didn’t exactly leave on the best of terms.

Jaros is off winning leagues in Austria and getting called up to Euros squads so we'd be doing well to!

With Anang I always gave him a bit of leeway because realistically he was only on loan to us and almost any player would take a club of Derby's stature over any LOI side. Maybe it wasn't handled the best, although maybe given that he's back that wasn't as much the case as it seemed. Either way he's actually a Pats player now which is an important distinction, and on a decently long contract to boot. Rogers is a relatively safe pair of hands but Anang is a different level, pleasantly surprised to see him return.

Jaros seems to have kicked on to another level this year, winning the Austrian League & Cup, making his senior Czech Republic debut and the squad for the Euros and earning a new contract with Liverpool. It’s fair to say he’ll never play at this level again.

On Anang's departure in 2022, reading all the quotes on it at the time, Clancy seemed to have nothing but good things to say about Anang even after he’d left, but noted that he was seemed to be badly advised by his agent so it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the club’s stance on it also. He may well have changed agent since then

Ah yeah, my Jaros comment was pie in the sky wishful thinking. I know Jaros is well out of our league now. As you say, Anang is an upgrade on Danny Rogers, so it’s good news. Hopefully this means Pitiluga is off back to Liverpool. Can’t see him having a hope in hell of making the grade there.

Alfie Taylor's loan from Hull to Pats has been ended. Didn’t play a single minute of league football (not injury related). Another terrific signing he turned out to be. I'd imagine Arran Pettifer will be released soon too, having also not played since getting sent off about 25 mins into his debut in a LSC game against St Mochta's

scored plenty of goals and assists with a team that were unlucky to not malke the playoffs following a late good run.
Would have decent offers for sure in the UK, At his age if he bins the UK off he is horribky badly advised (not withstanding i dont know anything about his personal circumstances)

Hard to know what to make of him. Obviously he was seriously unlucky with the serious illness, poor chap could have died. He scored that wonder goal v Rovers last year and was Gibraltar's best player in Dublin but then again it's probably easy for a defender to look good in that team if they make a few blocks and tackles on the day compared to what's around them. It just never happened for him at Dundalk.

Ah he was poor overall, number 1 priority for a centre half is to win the ball, he was far too laid back, the classic SOD type to pass the ball around his own half or in his own box (both shouldn't count for stats), could pass a ball, but overall not good enough for LOI PD.

As a side note even in his 'home' patch he had a dreadful game away in Gibraltar last summer in Europe. Replacement due this week, on loan from Doncaster, hopefully a wee bit more of a **** brick house type !

It'll be interesting to see who comes and goes in the next few weeks. It's great to see business being done early as well. That was a big issue at the start of the season.
