I don't feel all that strongly about it but it's a simple little edit to make before publishing and I'm sure the player would be happy not to look stupid.

Ryan McLaughlin has signed back for another season. He looked good in the Cork cup semi. A handy player to have in the squad.

Impressive lack of awareness from him in his PR quotes, referring to "Longford football club" and how impressive it is that they're "100 years in the league". You'd think the club would amend that before putting it on our own website.

Ngl, never even twigged it myself, just the wrong turn of phrase. Thought it was nice to see a player mentioning the Centenary year. I will highlight it, albeit bit late now. And don't worry I'm sure the club won't ban you for having a different opinion on something, that's not how it works despite the false narrative continuously being spread by one poster on here.

John Martin left Dundalk,Shels the apparent destination…..

Martin signed and sealed for Shels today. Happy with that one always thought he was good young player and falls into category of player Duff thinks he will be able to get more out of

Confirmation from Bohs that Coote, O'Sullivan, Nowak, Twardek and Williams have left the club along with Radkowski's loan expiring. Big rebuilding job required with the defence now considering the two Polish lads played nearly every game.

Not sure if this gives Devine more excuses next season or fewer. He now has none of what some would consider "the dead weight" left from Longs reign but there will have to be a significant number of signings made to replace them. I don't think there are enough defenders at the club at the moment to field a starting 11 so would want to look at that as a point of priority and a striker or we could end up in the situation Sligo found themselves in last season i.e. selling their best players mid season and hoping next season is better.

Six players out and only one in means another rebuild. More excuses when it's not going well. I hope Fenlon has done some good research to track down some quality for Devine and it needs to happen fast to get them to gel.

That was the talk but seems to have quietened down of late. There was talk in the Indo last week that he may have options in League 1 & 2 so I'm guessing he's holding out until January to see what he can get.

No major loss if I am being honest. A rebuild is needed and a better calibre of player required than many of the squad from last season.

There should have been alarm bells ringing out Dalymount last season when Bohs were still signing Polish lads and loanees for their backline right up the first week of the season, you can't build a team in the LOI with scattergun assembled defence like that because even if some of the foreign lads are half decent if they are on one year contracts they are a high risk of leaving as Bohs are experiencing

Bohs have been linked to Cornwall and Keeley this off season I really think they have to seal the signings of those two because there is major slim pickings at central defence aswell within the league or Bohs are again relying on the foreign/UK transfer market lottery

Wouldn't be surprised if we were in for Horton again. He doesn't seem to be getting game time for Cheltenham and I believe his contract with them is up at the end of the season. But generally agree the defence has been poor the last few years and some of that is down to poor recruitment. Fingers crossed that there is a plan in place because I think there are 3 defenders signed for next year (Kirk, Bart and Cian Byrne) maybe 1 or 2 of the 19s are ready to play some minutes but we cannot be dependent on them to start every week.

Yeah, does feel like Bohs are going to encounter the same issues now that ended up costing them last season. A good, well-balanced rest of the team but ending up in a scramble to sort out the defence. In hindsight it's a bit strange they didn't try to blood Cian Byrne in a bit more if they rate him enough to stay but not Nowak and Radlowski, who were keeping him out of the side.

Saying that though a few days can change everything in this league. They could announce both Keeley and Cornwall next week and while not groundbreaking or anything you've suddenly got an extremely solid platform to build from at this level.

McCourt was a panic buy after they wouldn't pay a fee for Mark Connolly or his increased wages when his loan ended, then he then moved to Derry, but he was poor, very poor, think one good game, home to Rovers, can't recall too many others.

Yep from Raheen. Played underage with Limerick before joining UCD. I believe Limerick 19s got to some league final or something with him in the team.

Happy with Harps business today. Success is a big strong lad with a few goals in him. Tourish was our standout player in a brutal 2022 team and couldn't commit last year with family commitments. Great to have both on board.

Dundalk meant to be announcing at least 2, possibly 3 new players this week and possibly news on some contract extensions / 2024 players.

Kit / Sponsor launch also meant to be this week, so could be a busy period ahead.

No its still just rumour. Dundalk have gotten in to this announcing players as part of daily run in to Christmas, if weve actually managed to get any business done before christmas. Id like to think that players are signed and the info on it is zip, no leaks, to maximise the publicity, As with all rumours, and there are tonnes, until things get announced on Dundalkfc.com its not happening.

Magerusan is a good player, but as mentioned above, really struggles with injuries. 39 appearances out of 70 league (and playoff) games between 2022 & 23 with us, only 21 of them when starting. Completed 90 mins only 8 times I think it is and was rarely (possibly never?) able to start 2 games in the space of 3 days on the odd occasion we had them.

In fairness, he had a better run of it in the second half of last season after missing most of the first half of the year, and finished up with 10 league goals which is a good return in a poor side. Definitely think with full time training and a consistent run of games he could be PD standard, but not one to be relying on to stay fit.
