only for Wexford's blip in the middle of the season they could have easily have passed us out! I am not surprised with only 4 ltfc fans as a lot of fans are savin their money for the playoffs including yours truly! the next two/four weeks are goin to be massive for us ...

What will happen if ye don't get promoted? Hasn't your sponsor gone bust? That'l surely affect your budget next season

Munnely is our main sponsor financially from what I hear, so losing Flancare isn't actually that big a deal.

I'd be surprised if Tony is kept on if we don't go up tbh, so major upheaval on the horizon quite possibly. All speculation of course!

I'd love to see Waterford go up and Dundalk come down to the first division. At least they might bring a few more away fans and we'll have some sort of sniff of a team that's not 3 hours away from us.

There was a lot of that from the PA Saturday night! Guess the emotion of the evening got to him.

1486 though. So close to a nice round number, but a fantastic crowd.

Hmmmmm think 600 might be a tad generous an estimation for crowd at (a rather Baltic) Oriel  meaningless game on a freezing night, 24 hours after the Lansdowne fiasco, I suspect many (outside Sligo) had their fill of footie

A good few Bohs fans sitting in the home section of the Oriel stand as usual , Macardles at half time and not being kept back at full time is worth the extra fiver.
Hopefully Oriel will still be a Premier club ground next season .

Met two FC Union Berlin supporting Germans on Friday night after the game and one of them was a Dundalk fan after heading to college in DkIT in 1999-2000.
He was bringing his mate to the game on Saturday wearing his Lilywhites of course.

 It must be great looking down and shouting at others from the top o' the pile!

Dundalk supporters have rallied to "Save Our Club" and the club is now on a firm footing & in safe hands;we don't need anybody outside of OP to ride to any rescue.

Supporters here have become disilliunsioned with the results on the pitch this season(see leauge table).Couple that with the time and day of the game and then you have attendance meltdown.

By the way, there was double+ the attendance mentioned, not great by our standands or by any standard but understandable in the circumstances.

Well done on yer leauge ribbon btw and hope to be playing yee again next season in the Prem

The crowd was 505 for Dlk V Bohs, def one of the worst crowds for a PD game that I can recall. Then again as bullit says its (perfectably) understandable, we've had nothing to play for in over a month now, and winning ONE league game at home all year is a huge factor.

I think this year will stand to the current squad, we lost so many points this year in games where we were one or two goals up. They need to be able to concentrate for the whole game and no drop so deep and i think we'll be fine. One or two additions definitely would be great, but we have the bones of a good team there already.

Just as well our second last home crowd to be used in these estimates is in, and we are standing at just under 1,000, as next Friday's final league match at home to Bray is going to be a dreadful turnout I would imagine.

Strange or not as it may seem, the expected crowd for the play off 4 days later will be actually quite respectable, but play offs are not used for overall figures.

Cork's crowds above look to be the stand out figure considering their league position, also such a pity Drogs couldn't have attracted more fans for such a strong season they had.

League wise I'd say that 6,097 in the Showgrounds on Friday was the biggest.

I think there was something like 150 at a Mons Bray game which was probably the lowest. Well done to UCD on avoiding that award.

Sligo with 6,097 was the largest yes.

I have UCD vs Dundalk from 29th June as 158 people.

Bray v Derry on 20th August only had 275 as the next lowest outside of UCD.

Lowest in the First Division was 88 between Salthill and Harps a few weeks back. (which I find also quite strange because there was a good travelling support that night)

Limerick also had the only 2 attendances above 1,000 people this year.

Their second last home game saw 1,486 people watch them lift the trophy, while 1,207 saw their 3rd home game of the season.

Harps and Longford were the only two to come close with 750 each at a game.

Thanks again Nigel for taking on the role from Pineapple, always interesting to see the estimates, and I'm sure its very time consuming for you. Considering it was one of our worst ever league seasons, I was amazed to see us end up with just under 1,000. Last two games were always going to be brutal crowds with nothing to play for. Also we got a dreadful fixture list this year, with Rovers, Sligo, Derry, Cork & Drogs all at home only once. Also had UCD, Bray at home twice.
