Bray - 2800 (1550)
I would have had that higher (3000+), but hey, you the man.
How do these compare to last seasons opening crowds?

In fairness my 183 at the Monaghan game was plucked out of the air and just completely randomly landed on last year's average! I see you have 200 for last season's game up there, there were definitely more on Friday so I guess it should be more than 200! Maybe 247....

Hmmm Derry pull in more than their season average for last season in their first game of the season against U.C.D. March 2006
2005... Shelbourne pull in their first crowd in excess of 2,000 for a home game against U.C.D., on the opening day of the season.
The Students are obviously attractive to watch to home teams fans :D

Ah that's no fun!
I'll up it to 210 then - think one of the Monaghan fans was saying the same. So over the course of the season, that'll increase their average by 27/17 = 1 and a bit. Happy now Julian?:)

Just for the record, with the Shed gone in Cork now, its hard to judge the attendance now. If the Shed was full then it was circa 1500 and whatever was in the other stands, now we are all in the other stands so its hard to make out. I'd nearly go with what is printed in the programme this year.

You want to read the post more carefully before walking into posts like that and dancinpants'!! The other figures were the attendances for the corresponding fixture in the previous two years. If you look closely, you'll note not recalling an average of "n/a" at Rovers for the past two years.

I stand corrected. But the point is UCD attracted more punters to the Brandywell than Derry's opponents on the First home game of the season last year.

Was at the RSC and from what I could see... looked like around 1100-1200 at the game... horrible weather conditions... the stand was close to full.. bout 1000 in it.. and a hunfred or so out on the ground...
I like the new Duggouts we got :D

Yup, agree with that. 1200 at the RSC last night. Freezing cold and the ****ing sleet made conditions treacherous.

I estimate about 700 at Athlone V Rovers. About 300 Rovers and 300 Athlone in the main shed and about 100 Athlone behind the goal.

570 at UCD-Pat's. Worst Dublin derby league crowd ever! Hope it was just because it was Paddy's Day...
Various papers had 275 for Dublin City-Derry.

I agree, those 560 Pats fans must have been wishing for the game to end sooner.

Have to agree with Pineapple
and to Partizan there were nowhere near 560 Pat's fans at the game!
If there had been we would have had a larger gate. It was Cold, it was St. Patrick's Day and maybe Saturday late afternoon kick-offs is the way forward for U.C.D. they have tried most of the alternatives to it down through the years.

Corny joke aside College, I think the Saturday afternoon KO would suit UCD better and would have a couple of knoock on effects.
1. The provinical teams would find a Saturday afternoon more accomodating as many have to get off work earlier on Friday to come to Dublin to play. I know this from the Waterford players.
2. Increased attendances as the fans of the non Dublin based clubs would also be in favour for obvious reasons. A Saturday afternoon KO, say around 4pm would nicely in with bus/train times for the casual and for anyone thinking of staying over night in the capital. Definitley Saturday afternoon is the way to go for Belfield.

275 for a Premier Division game must be one of the smallest attendances recorded since the days of the Rovers fans Tolka Boycott !

60-80 the stars?. The majority of the blue stand was Bohs fans, a few Rovers mixed in with them but not many. About 250 Bohs fans imo.

I am on record as saying that every Premier club should average 1,000 and every First Division club should average 500 if they are going to survive.
In that context Dublin City got a pathetic First Division attendance. And I know what pathetic First Division attendances are like I was at the home game with Cobh in August 2004.( when we were at the top of that League) I was also at a game in the late 1980's in the First Division at Belfield which was in double figures ( when we were to be fair nearer the other end)!
I was at a Dublin City First Division Fixture at Whitehall at the tail end of the 2003 season against Finn Harps and the crowd was well over 2,000 on that occasion. Where have the few hundred Dublin City fans that swelled the travelling Harps numbers that night disappeared to? :D
Maybe crowds are going to be down all round this season.....

I would have said under 2,000 at the game 1,800 or 1,900 and in terms of Bohs fans i was over the far side and i would say about 150 max ! there would have been more Rovers fans than Bohs fans over in that Stand IMO !
From where I was seating, in the far side, there were very few Sligo fans in that area. I would have thought we had over 300 fans going by bus numbers, train numbers etc and what was in the stand. Also very disappointing Sligo crowd for their first game back, was expecting double what was there.

No idea what O2 Park holds in Drogland but seems to be more than usual on the far side. About 100 away fans though.

Would have thought more than that. Definitely around 100 behind the goal but would estimate 1000+ in the stand. That stand holds 1500+ when full. Biggest crowd in Mels since the longford cup match. But after the muck that Athlone played might be a long time again before that many home fans turn up.

definetely 150 bohs fans,not 300...and about 1700 of us...even though the website say 2200
Attendance for GUFC v Limerick match on official website is 750.
Season Ticket Holders 156 and Sponsors complimentaries 50 plus there was a load of under 12s for free on the night. So over 1,000 on what has to be one of the coldest nights ever in Terryland isnt bad.
We would have got the 1,500 if the weather wasnt so severe snow and hail are hardly summer soccer conditions.

No more than 700. And I wouldnt blame any local for ever turning up again. Appalling stuff and a facile win for us.
