things must be really bad up in ballybofey, never heard of such a low attendance for them ever !:(

ya pity, still the harps mad a fair bit of noise. very disperced crowd though

Mr A

between 200-300 at the Harps/galway game last night inclusing the 60 united fans who traveled.

I would have put the crowd higher than that- in the photo here http://www.flickr.com/photos/90739204@N00/270212936/ there is over 100 on the bit of terrace behind the goal that can be seen, and you could add on a few more for the two ends that are out of shot.

There was at least 50 or so on the gantry side and 300 in the stand, so I'd safely say there was 450 there- better than most attendances we've had this year. Cracking atmosphere for the number of people there too.

Would have to agree i would have said 400 myself. Also agree on the atmosphere...2 vocal sets of supporters last night aswell.

No - people don't notice threads that are stickied - best let this float about imo.

Having talked to someone who talked to one of the gatemen the other night I'd put the crowd as 500 for Harps Galway.

I'd say about 900-1100 at the game, I'm up for correction on that. Great game I thought, would have liked more at it but the season we're having I'm not surprised.

You'd think a Shels Rovers game would get a good crowd going by those figures :)

Maybe next year!

Although I can't see us going down ;)

As I thought almost every first div team reports their biggest attendance for rovers visit. Also note only Cork beat the highest so far in the first div.

Interesting figures all the same

Pineapple Stu - fair play to you (again) for taking time to do all of this.

I'd imagine after Saturday Kilkenny's highest attendance will also be Rovers.

And your biggest crowd was there to see DE TOWN. Maybe not as we brought more away support than there was home support.;) :D
Also Galways biggest gate will also be against DETOWN

The official figure for Galway /Rovers was way below the attendance because of the pressure of numbers. We had a meeting last night preparing for the Dundalk game and the consensus was the attendance was over 3,700which would explain some people thinking there was over 4,000 at it .

Extra gates had to be opened which lead to the confusion over the numbers as no record of season tickets or u12's were taken at these gates.

Didn't get the official attendance at the Rovers V Athlone match last night, however, I would guess at around 800.

There was definitely one more than reported anyway as my ticket wasn't taken off me when I went in.

Having been at both Dundalk v Rovers and United v Rovers I can't believe there were more at the match in Oriel.

Monday night back match against one of the worst teams in the league. League games played monday to thursday always have bad attendances.

Our fans have stuck by the team this season. Normally when a club gets relegated fans leave in droves. Not Rovers.

I doubt there would have been much of a difference if the game was on Friday. It would only affect the away support.

Would have been about a thousand if it was friday. Interestingly the game monday was originally meant to be played on May the 21st. Surely some kind of record?

On your second point dont forget there is generally no away support in this division.

Woopey do.. The blues get that for the lowest of cup games and if we got it for a league game would be embarassed. Call yourselves a "big club"? Its a pity you arent good enough to qualify for the setanta or you'd get to see what a proper attendance is if you were fortunate enough to get Linfield (by fortunate I only mean we'd help pay your debts as we'd also surely wipe the floor with you lot..)

Judging by your friendly clubs thread you are obviously a WUM. But to answer your accusations we at least play in a better league. Still enjoy getting hammered in Europe every year then?

Im hearing Dundalk have almost sold out their 400 allocation for tomorrows game in Galway

Interesting to hear what the crowd will be, as I`m sure Galway will pull in another 500 at least after the last 2 wins.

Ok so they dont post on here... big deal as doesnt look like too many people do! I suspect you are a closet bigot or homophobe, detesting the presence moreso in Glway than you do in Linfield

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Good luck kid with that attitude. You'll need it.

Re the Galway game if there's no rain should be 3000 at it.

Getting our wires crossed here. If you look at our average attendance this season playing on a monday did affect the crowd.

Point I was making regarding our home support not dropping off this season despite the figures is that premier clubs, by and large, bring a decent support.

official attendance was given tonight as 3085 between Galway and Dundalk. Again, due to a large crowd entering towards kick off time rather than arriving early (me included) people were rushed in and no count was made of any season ticket holders or kids, or at least when I was entering anyway. GUFCT can clear this up?

If I had to guess I would have said 3500 - 3600 would be closer to the real attendance.

Isn't it a UEFA Licence requirement to be able to prouduce real attendances?

1250-ish at UCD-Shels. Our biggest crowd of the season, seeing as we're comparing.

Terry

yes it is. Only problem I can see is the club find it urgent to get the crowd in before KO. The supporters (including myself) can only blame themselves if they arrive late for the match and miss the start of the match. Nobody asked me for any ticket on entering so surely there was much the same elsewhere.
