Around 2,000 at Drogs v Cork in the league
I always wondered what crowds like at 02 Park but had nothing to judge against. Looked like maybe 300 less at Setanta Cup last night.
Capacity of the ground must be 4000 odd so?
WindmillWarrior

Yeah between 300 and 500 less I would have said. Capacity of the ground is closer to 5,000 I think. With the bigger than normal steps on the terrace it can be hard to judge sometimes.

That's the away fans' block!! If there were 20 people there, I presume they were locals who sat there because it was empty.
You might want to actually read my post before replying - in particular the bit where I quoted a Waterford fan who said even the away block was full.
antoeile - are you guesstimating Dublin City-Drogs purely on the basis of eL weekly?! Sure there was never a proper shot of the stand in the 30 seconds they showed!

Nowhere near 2,000. Would have said a max of 1,700. The main stand holds 1,550 and had at least 300 empty seats, probably more, and the stand the far side holds 850 and could not have had more than 200 in it. Didn't look like too many standing either.

lol well if i was John GIll id be leaving anyway cos how he signed some of those players ill never know. No we just had a chat with a lad who maintained that some clubs were inflating their figures to show that they are capable of "premier" football! so just before half time we did a walk. The game itself wasnt bad but experience won the day for ye Rossitor and Fortune were the diff. Dundalk need two new central defenders, they are shocking and we said it to some disgruntelled dundalk fans at half time. They told us where to go, ten mins into the second half....:) those keystone defenders do it again...and two of the back four were subbed. Your new stadium looks class and is well located, the birds around town wern't bad either ;)

No inflation of figures here in Athlone. We all know down here that we have 350 max loyal supporters. We just need success to get all the sunshiners back and hope we can hang onto some of them if things go pear shaped again.
As you saw it would be extremely hard get new faces down to St Mels in the condition it is in. When we get to our new ground around August that will be easier to manage. I wouldn't want us in the premier anyways unless we could hold our own and not be whipped all the time.

about 900 Rovers fans in that crowd, if not 1000.

On the Kildare forum thye said at most 500 Rovers fans.
the people selling the tickets for the kildare and Rovers game said they sold 1100 tickets and their average gate is usually less than 200. I'd say about 750 Rovers fans out of the 1100.

Dundalk fans (http://www.orielweb.com/dundalktalk/viewtopic.php?t=3509&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30) say 300. Will split the difference and tend towards Dundalk's figure, so 400. I'm also taking out the 1200 from the Kildare forum for Dundalk v Kildare, which was down as "pathetic" on the Dundalk forum.
After all that, the average for this year is the exact same as last year. Which is worrying as we've still got the summer lull to come yet...

I would have said around 1300 at the RSC main stand was close to full so 1100 I would have said.. erm.. counted 61 on the far side.. and there were a good few stadning beside both sides of the stand say like 150 -200 in total.. definately more than a 1000 around 100-150 shels fans
People rarely accurately count numbers in stand - they rarely account for empty seats sprinked throughout the stand.

I reckoned 2000 earlier - stand was about 2/3 full = 1200 and before the Hollywood Special Effects Dept unleashed that blizzard of hailstones in the second half, I'd say 100 or so in the Shed and 600 or so on the Camac.
