Smallest crowd I was ever part of was in 1977/78 at Tolka Park.
The visitors were Cork Alberts and the hosts were you guessed it
HOME FARM.... and the attendance including me was 28!

According to WLR this morning, approx 820 patrons paid in at the gate. Give and take the season ticket holders and the usual hangers on that come in at half time, my guestimate: 950 - 1000 tops.

Pathetic but the pitch aint helping matters.

Last year when the club was on the ropes fewer than 500 bothered to watch a game at the RSC between Waterford United and UCD. The hardcore Blues fans like you, Partizan, I exempt from the following comments:
I sometimes wonder do the general public in Waterford deserve an EL team given their recent pathetic turn out at games?

I'd say there were about 600 at the Bray-Dublin City game
600 "wasn't bad"? Is that a typo? 'Cos 600 would be poor for youz, I would have thought.

Tonight was definitely our biggest crowd of the season-I'd say 3000, as for 4000? Not a hope!

We Cork City fans gets slagged off for exaggeration yet big differences in suggested figures for Sligo here...

shedhead

what exaggeration are you on about? The most exagerated by a rovers fan was 3068, while the lowest was 2900. If u read the threads properly u would of seen that shels web reported at as 4000.

I'd guess a figure of 900 at Harps V Rovers. About 650 locals and 250 Hoops.

I think my figure is more accurate, though Harps had a ticket system and should be able to give a correct attendance.

My figure was merely a guesstimate from someone at the match. It may have been slightly higher, we might get an official figure at some stage.

don't even start kiddo. we took 250 fans to donegal for a first division game. thats the least that will travel by a bit this season. thats not bad in anyones book. did you take 250 to ballybofey 2 years ago for a derby?

i would have guessed 500 and 250 harps - rovers meself.

Shockingly poor attendance at Pats v Cork tonight. Personally, I thought no more than 1800, but I was talking to a Pats director on my way out of McDowell's and he said 1400 - dunno whether that was 1400 who paid in with season ticket holders, etc on top. Either way, it was very disappointing, even allowing for it being live on telly.

PS Hi to Peadar, Eanna and Redgav. Told youse I had a good feeling beforehand. :D

1,492 officially (according to the report on the Pats website)

As should be expected from two clubs within such proximity for a derby, if there indeed was. A better indicator is how many would travel from Sligo to say, Waterford for an average First Division match..

ballybofey to dublin is bout 2&half hrs(same as sligo to dublin), sligo to waterford in excess of 4&half. we brought 250 to most games last year and 500 to monaghan twice which is the only game within 2 hours driving

Dun Laoghaire to Swords can sometimes take two and a half hours. From there, it's at least three hours to Ballybofey.
If it takes you 2 and a half hours to get from Sligo to Ballybofey, you must be driving a tractor.

Sadly you cannot count, the attendance was a dreadful 1,255 :(
Really? Was there a lot of room at the Bohs end? I would have guessed at around 1800 myself.

ballybofey to dublin is bout 2&half hrs (same as sligo to dublin), Not a chance you'd make Ballybofey in 2 1/2 hours. Besides, there's a train and decent bus service to Sligo which makes it much easier to get to.

Defitinly more than 600. Star had 1200 but I'd say it was somewhere in between both figures. I'd say around 900.

I did it in 2 hours 50 minutes from the Port Tunnel to Ballybofey on a Friday evening last season. The worst part of the journey is getting out of Dublin.

Shouldn't take 4 hours unless the traffic is absolutely jammers in Monaghan and Blaney.

Waiting on a few more estimates (harps fans who were at the game pls have a guess) I would go with 1,000 - 1,100. Def no more than that, but not a bad crowd for a wet evening i suppose, and not forgetting our dreadful start of the season with 4 defeats in a row.

Worst crowd I have ever seen in Longford, the main stand would have held the entire crowd and more. No idea what that holds, maybe 500 thats about all that was there. 1/3 Bohs, 2/3's Longford.

Where were the Pat's fans at the Dublin City game in Dalyer? There looked like about 500 in the Jodi Stand on TV3, with no-one in the condemned end or in the Des Kelly. There may have been people in the Connacht Street stand, but I wouldn't have thought so. Hate taking attendances off the telly, but feel free to correct/agree.

Sheridan

Pat's fans were mostly concentrated in the corner of the Jodi nearest the Tramway End. 500 was about the size of it. Approximately 350 at DC-Shels tonight, for the notional record.

Crowd very badly affected by Hunger Strike Commemoration which was taking place in the same area at the same time.
