Yes that is what they hope to do. This year it looks like that neither relegation or championship will be decided until last day of the season. In order to avoid any favours been given by clubs, all final matches will be played on the same day. Unfortunately that means Mountshannon will have to wait but they will be playing Cup this weekend so they may only miss out on one other weekend.

Was Avenue v Olympic played last night?
no it was pulled by jim deniffe at 6.05. in fairness to him he came over at 5.15 and meet avenue. pitch very soft (as lydon was told tuesday night) decided to go ahead with it as oly would have left already. he would return at 6.00 togged (which he did) two puddles removed but refilled in 20 mins. he didn't want someone getting hurt so pulled it. right decision oly where only missing two players avenue had there best squad there all season. could have been a good game.
looks like there will be no fitures this weekend either. just heard that digi is unplayable as well, watterlogged. avenue cratloe game is off.
they cannot have a full fixture list easter sunday as avenue still would have one game to play.

Yeah, Bridge Celtic will also have one game left. The target is the following weekend weather permitting. Hopefully the weather will clear up for this weekend. Promised bad again for tomorrow. Apart from Lee's Road, how are the other pitches around the county holding up?

fairgreen just about playable for tonights game avenue b v olympic. it is very very soft and will cut up. i hope nobody twists an ankle tonight.
avenue a game v cratloe was called off but now TOLD has to be played in digi. so i take it if a teams pitch is unplayable they lose home advantage and have no say on the matter.
you sound a bit worried clifford:eek: if digifone is not playable the game will be called off. it wasnt too long ago that teams would have jumped at the chance to play at digifone... avenue included!!! what has the lees road done to you clifford!!!

No dates decided yet. Digifone park is currently closed as there has been a lot of games on it recently. It wont re-open for 2-3 weeks. That is why the 17's and youths cup semi's are in Olympic and Lee's Rd.
The Junior semi finals will be in Digifone but not for another 3 weeks. There are a lot of outstanding game's before semi's as you can see especially in the top half of the draw.
Thanks it was really the Newmarket V Bridge youth game I was interested in.....

Newmarket look like they have got the finger out after their trip to Bunratty fancy them to turn over Avenue. After seeing Avenue struggle against the same Bunratty I dont think they are a patch on previousl Avenue sides. Besides Newmarket can't afford to drop any more points with very tough games against Rinanna and Lifford to come.
Bridge Celtic very good going forward poor at the back so Bridge Utd to go top after tonights games.
Newtown Bridge on sunday could be a real title decider.

Gutted after last night, both sides battled to the very end with Bridge Celtic getting the slice of luck every team needs in the dying minutes to take all three points. There were very few chances with both defences very much on top. Mathematically we still have a chance but after losing our last two league games to 90th minute goals it's probably not our year.

Great chance for Newtown to showcase their facilities to the FAI & a chance for the locals to see first hand the calibre of player representing the country.
Is there any local players involved?
How is the pitch looking? Will this effect the Premier match at 4pm?

Just out of curiosity, who was the referee for this game? and did he have assistants?
If I am not mistaken 3 Clare League referee's were chosen to officiate the Munster Youths Cup semi final between Wembley Rovers and Cork City in Limerick this sunday but the League refused to release them as the fixtures for this weekend had already been set. As another member has quite rightly suggested that Newtown had a grat opportunity to showcase their facilities to the FAI, surely our referee's should have been given their chance to show their abilities (or lack of) to the Munster FA. Is this just another case of politics within the Clare League.

It worked in yere favour last year because ye were playing teams at the end of the season who had nothing to play for and ye didn't complain.
This year ye have a tough run in but are playing well and grinding out results. Also you will notice that the teams who have more than one game left to play are the teams who are relying on Lee's Road to be open. Don't think Clare league can do anything about that!!

Rats now relegated to the 1 division. Last minute goal for Bridge Celtic summed up our season. We were not relegated last night as we have not been good enough over the season. Battled hard last night but the usual mistakes and missed chances cost us.
Best of luck to Bridge Celtic and well done to them. They have more or less secured safety now.
Trevor Twoomey got both our goals last night. Ricky Moate and Ger O'Connel got the 2nd and 3rd for Bridge Celtic.

This baffles me.It is ok for the council to close Lees Road but it is not ok for Newtown to close Ballycasey? One set of rules for one club etc.....,Well it is not going to be the case anymore because those who are responsible for the upkeep of a pitch and bare the cost will not be told by the league or anybody else including referees when there property can be used or not!!!!!

Anarchy rears its head?.
Though I agree with your sentiments regarding clubs trying to protect their pitches from overuse and having a say as to when their own pitches are unplayable, unless their are stringent rules and guidelines set down for this theory the loopholes are clear to see. Any club that cannot field a full team could quite easily not allow the game to go ahead stating that the pitch is not playable by contacting the travelling team.
The League have no juristiction over Lee's Road and to be honest if they did the pitches there would now be similar to Digifone Park which is in need of a break due to the amount of games played there when all other pitches were closed because of the weather.
