The league table doesn't lie. we are at least 9 pts a better side than ye. Only games we have lost all season are to Avenue (last years champs), Bridge (2003 champs) and Newmarket (who have loads of titles).
I know where doora is alright its where Im going next weekend to watch Corofin knock ye out of the cup!
BUNRATTY were last years champions!

but you don't seem to have anything good to say about any other team in the Clare league.
Is their a bit of jealousy on your part???
Maybe u are still bitter because the amalgamation went down the tubes with
Park Rangers after they decided ye weren't up to their standards both on and off the field.

Not true. You are right about one thing though. I want Newtown still in Clare League next season. Cos we're guarnateed 6 pts against them.
Lifford will finish 2nd in their 1st season in the premier. Very unlucky not to win it at firs time of asking. Next year its all the way.

Only having a bit of fun with the "Ballbreaker".Newtown have a lot to be proud of in regard to their whole set up.Their facilities are second to none
and have some great guys doing all the hard work in the background.
The likes of Brendan Wall,Jimmy Rocks and Jimmy Kelly should be proud of the way the club is run.

Tulla drew 1-1 with Bridge yesterday, don't know the Corofin v Kilrush result (they normally take a week or two to process)
Tulla drew 1-1 with Bridge yesterday, don't know the Corofin v Kilrush result (they normally take a week or two to process)
That result make's kilkishen safe for another year...its funny we play them tomorrow and if they win they could get a playoff place to go up( thats if corofin lost or drew with kilrush) but if Tulla lost to Bridge and we beat kilkishen then they could have been facing a different type of playoff just shows how hard the first Division has been this year....does anyone know if the Corofin V Kilrush game went ahead

If Tulla had lost to Bridge, Kilkishen would still have been safe. However, if Tulla had won it would have been a different story.

Yes. As it stands (not knowing rest between Corofin and Kilrush), Corofin can reach 30 by beating Kilrush, Rock can reach 30 by beating Kilkishen, and Olympic can reach 31 by beating Kilkishen. Kilkishen can reach 29 by beating both Olympic and Rock which would in turn, put them above both of those teams but Corofin would be out of their control.

as avenue player i would like to make it clear that the fool "boss" certainoly isnt one of us! he is a clown that can eat his words for being so stupid as to probably cost lifford the league! i would love to know who this fool really is! i would say one of the fools that has been watchin the games from the sideline all season! i hear you good at polishing antons brass monkey you muppet!
it aint over yet though and if the ref markam(bridge man) can have his way with avenue and moher this sunday it could be goin down to the wire!
the only thing is we have more fight and heart than lifford ever will! ye talk a good game but ye dont play one! :) :p
theres only one team in ennis one team in ennis. congrats numbers, did ye find the cup??????????????? (last seen in kearneys)
haha haha boss. must be as sick as avenues heads, losing youths cup final to top it off. little interesting fact from the weekend. the old guy mannix picks up his wait for it 9th league medal. thats in 21years and the first two years was going from 3rd division to 1st division. that is nearly one every two years. throw in all the other cups etc making him the most successful player in clare.

Not so fast clifford. This is only our first season back in the premier. Only for some dodgy ref decisions and injuries to key players we would have won it. Avenue have had success for years but what have they to show for it. They still dont even have a pitch! When Lifford get their new pitch open all the best players will join us and not Avenue. All the best young players are already with Lifford. Avenue still have one or two older players holding them together. When they retire they are history.
Hold off on the humble pie. We re goin to win the Munster cup against Rinana. We have already stuffed them twice in the league. Keep that cup in a safe place cos we will be taking it off ye next year.

Ya right. We re going to aim a lot higher than that.
We'll get fifth in Ireland more like. We re going to win the Clare Area Munster cup this year cos we were the best Clare team in that competition. We can play the type of football thats needed to win national competitions like that unlike the rest of the thumpers in this league.

The Champion is nothing to do with Jim Madden, very simply you are able to send in a match report for the match and they will print it, it's not like you have very far to walk to the Offices to hand this in. Congrats on winning the league but having a Pop at the Chairman of our league is not on, if it was not for Jim I would hate to see the state of the League, Doora and the Clubs. Maybe you feel aggrieved because the Truth hurts when he made valid points about some Ennis clubs not having any facilities of their own, Most successful club in Clare history and nothing to show for it off the pitch. You have funds coming into the club but cannot get enough people who give a s..t to do something about it, no doubt you are one of these!!!!

I don't remember anyone on this site (other than the boss, who just about everyone now realises is nothing but a sad joke) slagging off Avenue, or at least not until you came on with the triumphalist jibing today. If, as you say, you are only trying to get at the boss, why not send him a private message. The rest of us a pi**ed off enough with his crap for the last week or two without you joining in. Won't be easy to get ourselves going for that one Syl. Doesn't really matter to us as we can't go up or down. However, although we will be missing our hurlers (the Mills play Wolfetones tomorrow evening also, but in case anyone from Corofin thinks there's any fix, we did make genuine efforts to have the game changed to either this evening or Thursday) we won't be rolling over either. We have 6 points left to play for and that's exactly what we'll be doing. Whichever of the three (Olympic, Corofin or Rock) end up playing in the play-off I just hope they give a good account of what has been a very competitive division.

dont get me wrong 9 times out of 10 Olympic would be glad to help teams out and move games to better times or dates but alot of our lads did not want it to be played tomorrow due to work etc and rearranged alot so that they would be able to play and to go and tell them to switch it back would have been difficult,i think the game should have been played Sunday like normal when both teams still had alot to play for but that is an issue the Clare league will have to address,

No problem with Olympic not moving the game. From my understanding they could not, rather than would not move the game. I understand, a few had changed shifts etc. and could not rearrange them. In any case, you could not expect anyone to disadvantage themselves to accomodate another team. It's one thing helping another team out but totally different when you screw yourselves up in doing so. On last Sunday, we had requested the wekend off as early as 7 weeks ago. While the League had said they would not grant free weekends at this late stage of the season, the fact that we had given such notice probably weighed in our favour. We're not complaining.

Thanks "boss" (I think) but think I preferred it when you didnt agree with me on anything!
As for best 11 its impossible to see every game. I can only go on the games I have seen and some players I have seen more often than others. That said I have gone for the players who have CONSISTENTLY performed in the big games that I have seen. For example Heath, whacker, rochford etc would seem to get at least an 8 out of 10 in every "big" or "pressure" game. Some other players may be outstanding in one game but are anonymous in other games.
Please Please dont take my ommision of Newtown players as an agreement with the boss's ideas. newtown are a very good TEAM as are avenue and bridge. Being a great team means you are better than the sum of your individual players. However you dont neccesarily need outstanding individuals to be a great TEAM.
ANy other suggestions on goal of the season?? from any division?

Would agree with that.Lifford will win nothing next year.
Lifford had a lot going for them this year with the momentum they carried forward from winning the first last season etc. However, if what I'm hearing is true, there's more than a few players unhappy with the way the team, if not the club is being run. Guys who don't train being given a game ahead of those that do etc. By all accounts, there are a few egos there (and not only the players) and that will be difficult to keep in check. Lifford really needed to win something this season to keep it going (and something more than the possibility of an Munster Junior area final) and that's not now going to happen. In any case, if Boss isn't the "Boss" at Lifford, they have even more Sh1t talk to be putting up with than I had realised. I can see things beginning to fall apart there if it's allowed to continue.

Goal of the season has to be James Bullman of Shannon Olympic B vs Newmarket B. This is the one where he took a throw-in from the right hand side, and it flew straight into the top corner just skimming the keepers gloves on the way in. Not the classiest, but certainly the most entertaining I have ever seen. Has that guy got bionic arms or what?????????
Another good goal was the one scored by the Bridge Celtic forward in the 6-1 drubbing of Olympic there a few weeks back. Think it was their 4th goal. He rounded 4 players before sticking it in the net.

We are goin to sign a few more players for next season. Watch this space. We will be even better then.
Nothin wrong with havin an ego if you can match it with results.
All of the great sports stars had egos. Look at Mohamed Ali. you dont see Mourhino talkin down Chelseas chances. If you are going to be the best you have to believe you are the best and tell people you are the best .

I agree to an extent, but you can say to much sometimes it is better to let the results and TROPHIES speak for themselves, yes you won the First Division, yes you have done well this year, but just think about some of things you have said!! The one thing I know about the Clare League is everyone has long memories, a bet that all the teams that are in the Premier next year will try that little bit harder against Lifford, if that is who you actually belong to. Now you mention Mourhino, arrogant yes, Great Manager yes, bad sportsman yes. This will also hurt Chelsea next year, teams will be more prepared and again teams will try harder against them.
If you are the Manager then I would suggest the Club take a look at your comments which are detremental to the Club and ask you to move on!!!

You have funds coming into the club but cannot get enough people who give a s..t to do something about it, no doubt you are one of these!!!!
i don't know a lot about many clubs in clare so i wouldn't give comments on something i know nothing about. so when i see someone talking horse**** about something they know **** all about it ****es me off. lets get some facts straight here. if someone said that they hoped your club gets relegated this year, best thing that could happen to clare soccer and they'd love it, you would have a pop at them as well. well thats what jim madden said about avenue. he is supposed to be the chairman of clare soccer and treat everyone fairly etc. also he went on clare fm ranting about a club with posts and jerseys when he thought avenue where pulling a fast one getting the bridge game called off. only having to eat his words afterwards.(not the first or last avenue/madden conflict)
what the **** did the clare league have seven (is seven too generous) years ago actually what the **** did any club have over seven years ago. nothing with the exception of newmarket. where it turns out that there was a gradient of around 18feet from goal to goal, but christ you could have a shower. looked forward to it every year. sure we'll all be off to join st pats (who bought their pitch for one euro)and there great pitch with changing rooms. the state of the pitch league and clubs??????????? the soccer players of clare payed for a lot of digi with subs for the last no. of years. clubs in other leagues have better facilities so i wouldn't get excited. how many clubs pulled out of clare leagues, how many teams gave walk overs????? right?
avenue are given the worst pitch in premier??? where do connoly play their home matches (away) lifford play on avenue's old pitch in ruan. cratloe didn't have a pitch till last 3 months of season. (they borrowed it) newmarket are playing in quality pitch while there pitch they bought for one pound is been done up. moher play in community pitch just like avenue. maybe they should do a lifford and plead squatters rights, get payed to leave and set up with pitch??????
the reason avenue are so successful is that there are plenty of people that give a ****. in fact i would go on record as to say they have the best structure out of any club in clare. they have under 6, 8's and 10 who have won the majority of small comps played. the 11's 12's and 13 won their leagues and hopefully 14's will win cup. they don't have a 15's 16' or youths but will have by 3 yrs time. the b team got promoted and a team won premier league. pitch or no pitch they are heading in the right direction. would you prefer to be sitting in your clubhouse with old mother hubard staring at the cupboard????????????
the facilities in fairgreen are not worst in the clare league by miles. any big game that was played over the last 20yrs changing rooms and showers were always provided and grub after the game. any improvements sought in the green were always knocked back.the club have tried unsuccessfully over the last no. of years to get their own pitch but with no success. this year they were offered 6 acres in inch for €250,000. competing with builders, don't think so. but while other clubs lock there posts away (if they have them) and put the club jerseys in the garage avenue will be actively looking for a pitch. the most knowledgeable comment you made was avenue are the most successful club in clare history, so can you imagine if they had there own facilities, the mind bogiles??????????????
