Mossie Lin 1/4 finals

Ballyvolane 7-2 Bohs

What can i say only hats off to Bally boys ripped us to shreads today no excuses led 4 nil at the break and the game was more or less over.Missing our keeper and 2 other 1st teamers but thats no excuse as we wer beaten by a better team who seemed to want it away more than us today.
Made some stupid mistakes and gifted at least 4 goals today...... came into a bit more in the 2nd half and scored 2 but went 3 at the back and that gave their forwards to much space and they were always going to catch us on the counter so thats our bad game out of the way and look forward to the bread and butter league next week

Scaffa for me Ballyvolane were the best attackEing side we've played against so far this year - although Delea and Johnny Barrett werent playEing the day we played Leeside - Ballyvolane move the ball around with pace - and any team containEing Colm Forde , Colin Keane , Gary Nolan etc will score plenty of goals

looks like we'll be waitEing a while for the Ballyvolane report!!!

macroom 2 wilton 4

went up one after 20mins mistake by keeper tap in for myself..two teams evenly matched in the 1st half..
2nd half got our 2nd within 5mins another mistake from the keeper from a shot from outside the box...after that wilton got their 1st from a free header at the back post..they got their 2nd with prob the best goal that ill see this year from their center half it was unreal ball moved in the air at least 3 times before hitting the net wilton missed a pen after that...2nd half they were a way better...best team we ave played this year....

Played at Monard due to fixture mix up - it literally was the classic game of 2 halves. We went 2 day after 20 mins, and just had 2 headers which we should have scored to show for it. We were literally destroyed for the rest of the half, but our keeper had nothing to do. A few choice words at half time.....Ola had a throbbing vein on the forhead!! We scored on 46 and 49 and you would swear it was two different teams. We dominated but didnt trouble the keeper. Leeds piled on the pressure near the end, but I think both teams happy to escape with a point.

Scaffa, i think they may have your game against Castleview down as a 2-0 defeat rather than 2-0 win in the tables.

I saw a result of a 4-1 win on pens. Is that score possible?

I know we all give referees stick, but threatening refs seems to be getting more common, I think this is the 3rd game abandoned this season already, either clubs kick those players out or the AUL should do it for them.

Well Lads, the inevitable has happened......Oscar Traynor Draw Group 4, Tipperary, Cork Aul, Msl. The distinct possibility of the AUL Manager up against players from his own club side. Unfortunte in some peoples eyes, Farcical in mine! Is he to put forward players for the MSL side from his club to play against the AUL as he has asked AUL Managers to suggest players for his squad? Whole set up is madness!

No conflict at all so OLA ? The Bandon juniors would be the equivalent of a B team and im sure Niall would have the facility to draw from them at club level if and when needed to supplement his own side. Still think the situation is at best "messy". Just an opinion. i will still be supporting the AUL Squad in all their games!

yes i agree with you there overthehill he probably does that from time to time - but as the AUL have appointed him for two years and dont have a problem with it then i dont see why we should.

As i've said - if anyone has a problem with it write a letter to the AUL - or perhaps at the massive turnout at delegate meetings someone may feel like mentioning it??

Bohemians 2-1 Glenthorn

6 points from 2 games in the league great start to the season for us.
On the game itself very tough game played in very tough conditions gale force wind in the fairfield today took the lead against the wind after 10 mins great cross from our new signing Trevor Hallisey on the left who found Deccie Gostel to make 1 nil.Could of been 2 only for the cross bar which kept out a great effort from Christy Drisscoll.
Glenthorn levelled the game after 25 mins when a cross was deflected for an unlucky own goal went into the break that way which was great for us considering the wind factor.
2nd half was another tough 45 mins but we scored again after about 60 mins when Deccie Gostel let fly a rocket from 20 yards into bottom corner 2-1 to us.
Glenthorn should have equalized 2 mins later but pudge headed wide.Game fizzled out a bit towards the end and we held on well enough and probably deserved the 3 points

Definately one of the best strikers in Cork aul and well worth his place looking at some of the guys that have been called up, but isnt the beautiful game all about opinions!!!!! 51 players on that list, what will they do for the hour if they all turn up??

Yeah he was called up last year alright - Gary and Dean Buckley from Leeds were called up last year around the same time
Lads it looks like its a get together and a training session rather than a game! As far as i know its not just Niall there training the lot of them - I must check with our lads who were there last week what the scenario was!

Just to add - last year we had 3 called up to train with the Panel before the Quarter finals stage - so I wouldnt say the door is closed to anyone - keith Kelleher for example was called up into the Winning Oscar Traynor panel well towards the business end of that successful campain

By the looks of the Oscar Traynor draw on the MSL site, it has fallen well for the AUL. The other two teams playing first, so we will know what we have to do. Our away game is MSL by the looks of it, so that will be local as well.

I've seen examples in the past whereby it was a member of a particular club was robbing his own teammates on away games ,so its not always the away team to blame.

Its a sad state of affairs but it happens

Bohemians 1 - 0 Blackstone

Absolutely brilliant 3 points today from a very tough game agaist our northside rivals 3 wins from 3 and puts us top of the league.
Balckstone or Horse!!! will probably think they deserved a point but the old saying if you dont take your chances...........
On the game 1st half was a tight one but Blackstone should have gone 1 up but the no. 7 Banger (i think) hit it wide from our on rushing keeper......
2nd half we started like a train and should have scored only to be denied by the woodwork twice but did score after 65 mins when our right back Willy O Shea went on a great run and let fly from 20 yards to put us 1 up thought the keeper could have done a bit better but nonetheless we had the lead
Last 15 mins we seemed to sit on the lead and Blackstone came at us and could equalized from a great chance from Fordy but again put it wide.Last couple of mins Blackstone put the pressure on but we held on well enough to claim all the points.
Blackstone i think will still be there or thereabouts at the end of the season and will take a lot of points of teams.........

On the game i thought it was very even and both had chances ye with 2 misses one in each half and us hitting the cross bar twice, maybe at the end of the day neither team would have complained with a point each but to win this league getting 3 points like that is what will make or break your season..

Ye are a good team and certainly will be there or there abouts come the buisness end of the season im sure of that, as always another tight game against yerselves where we were only seperated by a single goal..

Regarding our keeper (David Cronin) yes your right he is a class act and we've been saying that all last season we are prob bit biased but he is definately top 2 or 3 in the AUL if not the best, our right back is worthy of a shot at AUL trial (willy o shea) centre mid (Niall Collins) Trevor hallissey, Christy Driscoll all prob will get a trial in the coming weeks, Although seen as it was down to the club to e-mail the manager (NOT THE BEST SYSTEM IN MY OPINION) i suppose its the clubs fault none have been out there so far.......

Horse24
17/10/2010, 11:52 AM
Mario, what other system would you use for AUL selection? Who knows players better than their own managers?
Scarf my Rose-tinted BRFC glasses are alive and well. Good honest opinions from both Bohs guys. As the week went on, we were a bit wary as we lost a few players to work and injury. As happy with our performance as you can be when losing. Disappinted in the performance of the man in the middle. Didn't think it was a free in the build up to the goal - not taking anything away from the great strike. Mr Hallisey I think (11) was lucky to see out the game. Not for any malice but didn't apply same rules that he did to us. Good side Bohs. Wanted to watch keeper and full backs following your build up. Think left full went off but other two stood out. Good tough fair game. Great tackle by small Jim as our winger flew up the wing!
